Yay back at work, I realized how bad I already missed WDW when yesterday I was having lunch with princesses and then today with cranky mechanics

Lunch w/ Cranky princesses >> than lunch with cranky mechanics.

In the last week, I have been reminded of how much I don't miss flying. Three flights to get to Vermont and three flights back. Sitting in Charlotte airport right now awaiting my final leg home.

The one good thing about this trip is that it has allowed me to get caught up on the DisDad podcasts. I was about six behind. Listening to the DDCC one has me really excited for those of you who will get to go. Sounds like it will be a really fun time! I hope that I am able to be somewhere on the Live Podcast night to listen in. :thumbsup2

Thanks for setting up the new thread Randall. Good luck keeping up with all of it. Thanks also to Don for his many threads of service to the group! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Yuck, hopefully you aren't stuck in the airport too much longer.

Good job. Your post is only lacking two things: Orson Wells, and clapping.
Either you failed to post it or something's wrong with my computer.
:confused3

I donno. I see it. Can anyone else see it???????

That's about the only thing that would get me running. :rotfl2:
What about your nemesis challenging you to a Disney 1/2 marathon?

If Vegas were setting a line on this race, I wonder where it would be.:confused3 I'd put Barry as the favorite by 13 minutes.
Oooohhhh... Where do I put my money?

Hopefully they'll continue to feel okay.
Let's hope. ::yes::

Yeah I've never done that race because the idea of puking while I run 2 miles doesn't have much appeal to me.
Me either.

Given the state of their nemisisness, my money would be on them holding hands triumphantly as they cross the finish. Either that or somebody's getting tripped in front of the choir.

edit. Holding hands had more effeminate connotations than what I was going for. In my mind I was imagining something more like this.

also in no way do I desire either of you to be injured in the race or training.
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I can totally see that happening. NOT! pixiedust:

Glad you are feeling better! I've been off quite a bit lately myself but just the usual CRUD. How is the

pirateprincessearhat2.jpg

doing with her studies?

Doing well thanks. She is enjoying it up there but it hasn't gotten cold yet. Posted on Facebook that she got a 90 on a Statistics class and set the curve. Can't be my kid.

The thread was closed just before 12. That's not too late.

And I have a real job. I just put the boy down for his nap and I have to DJ for 200 high schoolers tonight. :scratchin

You have my sympathies.

I'm not a doctor, but I play one on the Internet. I'm prescribing you at least 2 days of sitting by a hotel pool and consuming alcohol. If you're not better after that, eat some bacon.

Thanks Doc, will take your advice.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Guess who ran 5 miles this morning????

ME!!!

A begrudging congratulations.

The thought of Barry beating me in the 1/2 marathon. :thumbsup2

Talked to my Uncle Vito today and he says it isn't going to happen. The "Boys" will take care of it.

My bet is on tripping.

Looks like he had a few Beverlys.

Really? You think he's going to be a minute a mile faster than Tim? Vegas likes people like you. :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

:rotfl:That's why I never gamble when I'm in Vegas.

Remember- the line moves. Based on what we've seen so far, yeah I'd say he's a mile a minute faster over 13 miles. But what we've seen is an injured Timmy. If he keeps training like he did today pain-free, the spread will shrink. Barry's just done more training so far. That's not all Tim's fault, that's just how it's gone.

So sorry... Do yourself a favor, don't daydream and pretend they are princesses. :crazy2:

That might almost be some incentive to run. Between that and Barry's beer run in Milwaukee, it might almost be worth it. :scratchin
Do it. Do it. Do it.

Who's taking the bets? I can have my whole trip paid for. :rotfl2:

Lunch w/ Cranky princesses >> than lunch with cranky mechanics.
Let me fix that for you...

Lunch w/ Cranky princesses >> lunch with happy mechanics

You have my sympathies.
Thanks. I think. :rotfl2:

Thank again. :thumbsup2

My boy didn't come through. I think the golf cart died right before it did any real damage.

Looks like he had a few Beverlys.

Nah. I'd just tell him good luck.
:lmao: Good call!

This is true. Barry has more miles under his belt- and more runs. I will have a few 5ks under my belt before Jan but nothing further than that.

Will you have a 10k for corral placement? That'll actually make a huge difference. If they put you in the back with the walkers you'll spend the first 3 or 4 miles swerving around people. Sure it'll make you feel like the fastest man in the world, but it could make it hard to actually run.

No... Unless I can fit in a 10K before Jan. I'll search my area and see if I can find one. :surfweb:

I'd look at it more as a situation where Barry is going to be worn down and you're going to be rested and fresh for the race. :thumbsup2:rotfl2::rotfl:

It's worth it if you can get one in, like Ryan was saying, that last corral can be pretty slow/packed...

Not that I'd advocate this, but I've been in a couple corrals during Disney races where it was pretty obvious that people had "mis-remembered" the times they submitted... Not sure Disney really checks your times... ;)

Agreed. I was in the last corral in January. But you don't really spend 3 or 4 miles swerving around people. It's more like the first 12 or 13 miles. The other drawback is that you won't be able to run with Barry unless he drops back to your corral. That would stink for him. If you just ran 5 miles this morning, you're almost at a 10k anyway. How long did those 5 miles take you?

Shouldn't give you advice but the Pirate Princess did a 10K and moved up a few corrals. Worth it if you can do it.

Again, I point out to Team Tim that Fantasyland is in Orlando. Barry is becoming a lean, mean running machine.

yeah but running is an experiment with a population of 1. Tim's got to do what's right for him and no on can predict what will happen come race day.
Your full of excitement and anticipation, nervous energy seems to pour out of people and that's just in the line for the potty potty.
