The Disney Adventures of Scooter Mom-Sept 7-14 (COMPLETE)

That family you snuck a picture of is so great! I love it when families follow a theme at MNSSHP.

I'm so sorry you missed out on the preview! That's such a bummer. :worried:

Nice at your DD calling out the scantily clad ladies. So wise. :rotfl2:

That family had it going on !! So cute !!

I will see it eventually. The line was too long. We didn't want to waste our MNSSHP night in line for that. We will see it in January.

DH and I were rolling !! She is hilarious sometimes !! You should have seen how big here eyes were. Like whoa !!

Back to see your pics. I love the Boo to You parade and I should be watching it 9 days from now! :cool1:

Day 6- Part 1

Since we had such a late night the previous night, we slept in - got up around 9:30 AM. I had planned to go over to Pepper Market to check out their buffet that was supposed to be a QS credit, but since it was already almost 10 AM and they stopped serving breakfast at 11 AM, I thought we would be too rushed. So we went down to Roaring Forks again for breakfast. And we all pretty much got the same thing. Hey, it worked for us. I guess I can be as much of a creature of habit as my DD. So you can see where she might get it from.

DH and I both got the Croissant Breakfast Sandwich

DSC04813.jpg

It was good as always.

DD went with her favorite of Mickey Waffles

DSC04814.jpg

And DS went with his current standby of pancakes

DSC04815.jpg

We went back to the room and picked up a few things and then headed out to the car and over to Epcot !! This day was going to be our World Showcase day and I had actually planned to only spend a few leisurely hours there.

DD and DS REALLY wanted to do Sum of All Thrills and when we got there

DSC04816.jpg

DSC04817.jpg

The line was pretty long. DD really wanted to do it and we werent in any hurry, so they waited. It only took about 15-20 min., so not too bad.

When they were done with that and we headed back outside, we discovered it was raining, so we hurried over to the other Innoventions building to do the

Great Piggy Bank Adventure again

DSC04819.jpg

DSC04820.jpg

After that, we checked out the video games

DSC04821.jpg

And some of the other games/exhibits

DSC04826.jpg

DSC04827.jpg

DSC04830.jpg

We looked outside and it was still raining, but radar indicated it wouldnt last much longer. So we made a dash for Mouse Gear.

DSC04831.jpg

DSC04832.jpg

DSC04833.jpg

We looked for a while

DSC04834.jpg

DD spied a doll she wanted and I spied some pajamas that I was sure would make me feel better after my upcoming surgery.

And we noticed it wasnt raining any more.

Then we got moving towards World Showcase. But first, we had to stop and get our phone for the Phineous and Ferb game.

The party looks like a lot of fun! How cool that they were previewing parts of New Fantasyland - too bad the line was that long though!

Yay for Agent P!!! I kind of want to do that during our trip, but I know DF has ABSOLUTELY no interest! :rotfl:.

I was kinda bummed that I didn't get to see the sneak peek. When does that opportunity ever present itself ?? But that line was too long on a good leg, let alone one that was in pretty bad shape, so standing and waiting wasn't an option. We will see it in January, though and it will be all finished then. Can't wait !!

I think Agent P is just a recycled version of Kim Possible. Which the kids like, but I think it is just kinda 'meh.' It kept them distracted, though. With Food and Wine in full swing while you guys are there, I wouldn't waste the time, really. ONE mission doesn't take that long though if you really want to give it a try.

You are an updating machine! I think you made a good decision to not wait it out at enchanted tales with belle. We made it into a soft opening last week, and it was cute and all, but the line moves SUPER slow. We waited at least 1/2 hour, and it was shorter than in the picture you posted. It would have been tough to stand on one leg that long! :scared:

It looks like you guys were having a productive morning despite the rain! I enjoy the piggy bank adventure too!

Keep in mind that I have had surgery and I am basically just laying up in bed all day with my leg up so the swelling doesn't get too bad. Because if the swelling gets bad, you will just want to shoot yourself. So, I am kinda bored.

Yes, I am glad we didn't wait. We had a low crowd MNSSHP and still had some things we wanted to do, so waiting in that line wasn't a good use of our time OR my painkillers.

We have always been so lucky with the rain. It rained some, but never an all day thing, so we just worked around it.

Bummed about the soft opening... I might have passed as well.. seeing you will be there in Jan.

The parade looks like tons of fun.

I have never done the piggy bank thing.. What is it ? appropriate for an almost 6 yr old ??

That parade was awesome !!

Yes, she would love it. My DD kept wanting to do it again.

Hey, there is nothing wrong with being a creature of habit. I literally eat the same thing for breakfast almost every day, with a little bit of variation. Ain't no shame girl! :rotfl2:

Mickey pajamas (or Disney pajamas in general) would make anyone feel better with impending surgery.

It is probably a good thing we just missed the previews of Enchanted Tales w/ Belle when we were there last. I absolutely would have waited in that line, and had been listening to a lot of whining in the process! In your situation though, I'm not sure I would have waited either. As you say not a good use of time or pain meds when you'll be back in just a few months.

I love Storybook Circus! So happy to see all those pictures! I was never ga-ga over the old Toon Town. It always felt kind of cheap and thrown together to me. They have done an amazing job with Storybook Circus though. I can't wait to check out the new store! I love that they have different costumes for the people working in there. So appropriate!

So...will there be some F&W food porn coming??? I have to live vicariously through you since we won't be going this year.

I soo agree... I was never crazy about toon town either. I remeber when it was first built and it was even worse. They had some cheesey show under the big top area ... before Mickey was there.

I am definitely a creature of habit. Very schedule oriented. I like eating the same thing for breakfast because then I don't have to think much. I don't think well unless I have 3 cups of coffee on board.

I do love my Mickey pajamas. They do make me feel better.

I thought about how excited you would be if you were there. But the line was waayy too long and not moving. The kids were so not into it. It was all about the candy that night for them.

I can't wait to see it all come together. I like Toon Town OK. DD liked Mickey and Minnie's house. But I am not missing it now that they have the new stuff there.

We just missed F&W, so I am very sad to say that there will be no food porn from that.

I soo agree... I was never crazy about toon town either. I remeber when it was first built and it was even worse. They had some cheesey show under the big top area ... before Mickey was there.

Well it will be amazing when it is all finished and then no one will remember or care what was there before.

Day 6 – Part 2

The kids chose a mission in Norway, so we went over there.

DSC04840.jpg

DSC04841.jpg

They did their mission and rode the boat ride. Again, another ride that I could not easily get in and out of, so I waited and took some photos.

After Norway, the kids set up a mission in China and they did that together while DH and I went to watch the China movie. Which I love. DH is possibly going there next year to help his company start up a plant, so he was really interested in seeing it again. He had just gotten back from Mexico a few days before our trip to WDW.

We watched the movie and DH took photos of DD playing with the puppets.

DSC04853.jpg

After that we continued on through World Showcase.

Italy

DSC04857.jpg

We were starting to get hungry and everyone wanted something from a different place. So we decided to roll with that. DH wanted something from Germany.

Germany2.jpg

So he went to Sommerfest which is the QS place in Germany and got a bratwurst

Bratwurst - served with sauerkraut and roll $6.69

2469732389_66a3521a78.jpg

It came with a pretzel

100_2479.jpg

But instead of getting a soda, he sprang for a beer.

1343765009_4764_Epcot5.jpg

He said this meal was very good and he really enjoyed it. Later on in the day, we were all regretting he had eaten it. Apparently, sauerkraut makes DH’s butt very happy and he was making us miserable later on in the room if you know what I mean. No more saurkraut for DH when we are in close quarters.
He and the kids were in Germany picking this up while I was scootering over to Morocco to get myself some lunch.

DSC04858.jpg

I really wanted to try the Shawarma platter that everyone had been raving about.

Our plan was to meet in the America Pavilion where the kids were getting something to eat. I gotta tell you, I got some really strange looks when I was scootering back towards the America pavilion with a tray full of food, but I arrived in one piece with only minimal spillage of my soda.

Here’s what I had.

Shawarma Platters - served with side of Hummus, Tabouleh and a Tangierine

Couscous Salad with fresh Moroccan bread
Chicken & Lamb Combo $13.99
Chicken $11.99
Lamb $12.99

I chose chicken

DSC04859.jpg

It came with a drink and some baklava

DSC04860.jpg

I really enjoyed this . The chicken had a lot of flavor and I really liked the fresh pita bread and the hummus. The couscous was just ok as was the tabouleh, but I really enjoyed the rest.

The kids went with the old standby.

DSC04862.jpg

Yep. Chicken nuggets. Again. DS discovered that instead of getting a soda and a dessert, you could combine them for a slushie. He was so proud of himself for getting such a great deal.

Bellies full, we continued on with our exploration of the World Showcase.

DH took this

DSC04864.jpg

Darling picture of you and DD! Loved all of the updates - what?....nothing to do? Too much time on your hands!? Just kidding, I have had 4 knee surgeries, it sounds like fun laying around until that's all you have to do! Hope the healing is continues!

Love the MNSSHP pics, one of my favorite memories is that party with our kids when they were younger. I could not get my DH in those green tights! But that Peter Pan family was awesome!:cheer2:

This is my second ankle surgery. The first time I literally sank into depression it was so bad. But now that I know what to expect, it is easier to deal with this time. But every 15 minutes I take stock of what tools I have on hand that would remove this cast. So far the Dremel is in first place. Followed by the hack saw. I hate this thing with an absolute passion.

Yeah, that guy was rocking that Peter Pan costume. He was a pretty nice looking guy. I loved their costumes !! They were pretty awesome.

Your pictures are making me so excited to walk around the World Showcase soon!!! Looks like you guys had a great time (except for the sauerkraut! )
