Tropicana vs. Anaheim Plaza Hotel?

As I said, I would post what I think of the Anaheim Plaza. We got here yesterday around noon and had to wait until after 3 to check in, so they gave us a parking pass and we headed over to DL.

First of all, I am thrilled at how close this is! For us a 5 minute walk, and we are not fast walkers. Average, I guess. You cross Harbor, then Disney Way, and you are practically there. I don't know why I thought it was farther.

We checked in about 7:30. Person at the desk was very welcoming and helpful. The lobby area, I thought, was pretty cool with a lounge and restaraunt connected. Yeah this place is kinda retro, but the parts i've seen and the grounds are very nice.

I thought we would have to have a ground floor but there are ramps to the second floors so easy to haul luggage and stuff. Second floor is preferred because you don't take the chance of people stomping around over you.

We entered the room, bathroom to the right. The sink area with two sinks is huge and the toilet and tub are in their own room. We like having the sinks outside the rest of the bathroom. And these are so spacious.

The room itself is huge. There is a big closet, regular size, with mirrored doors. there's a fridge and micro (I called ahead and asked for the micro) and a nice looking armoire with a tv, 3 drawers, and a safe. the safe is big enough for me and hubby to get our laptops in.

The bed is comfy, not too hard or soft, with nice sheets, blanket and a white comforter. The desk is in the corner on the far wall. Its very large and there are two lamps on that side of the room, one floor lamp and one desk lamp. A nice looking easy chair sits next to the armoire.

Nothing wrong with the carpet. I've been barefoot and my feet haven't been dirty. The room in general is clean, no smells, and everything works.

The water pressure has been fine, no change in temp like some people have experienced here. At least not yet. The a/c works fine. we left it on when we left this morrning and came back to a cold room. had to turn it off awhile, so it works just fine.

Our room doesn't have a balcony. we are in the 700 building, in the far rear corner, on disney way and in front of garden walk.

I have no complaints about this hotel. especially for the price!

We're here for 10 days so I'll be sure and post if we have any problems.

Wow thank you SO much for posting all that! I really appreciate it! I'm even more excited to get there! So are there only 2 floors in the upgraded buildings? Should I request the 2nd floor?

Thanks again and have a MAGICAL time!

Yeah all the buildings are two floors. If you request the 2nd floor you can easily walk your luggage up the ramp, instead of lugging it up the stairs.

Oh and let me say, so far its been very quiet back here. For some reason I had the impression that there would be loud folks around all hours of the day and night....not the case at all!

The upgraded room are in the 700 building so that's where you will be too. When is your vacation?

Check out the other rooms, in the other buildings, as you walk by. Enjoy the best $15 a night you have ever spent, for the upgrade! :cool1:

We'll be there the 23-27th. If you see someone with a Maleficent purse with lime green Mickey heads on it-- that's me.
