Did it take this long for BLT to have models? I am psyched, and want to see them!:goodvibes

I'd love to know this too.
Won't have too much time do see when I'm there in March for ds's baseball tournament but will be back again in August at BLT and would have the time to go and see.
Thanks for anyone that finds out.

BLT models opened around October 1, 2008--about 10.5 months before the resort opened in mid August '09.

So far all DVC has said is that they hope to open Grand Floridian villas in "late 2013." That target is as much as 14.5 months away.

Of course, this will be the first resort Claire Bilby has opened so none of the prior timelines are particularly meaningful. I suspect we'll see some additional details on GF before the end of the year.

we were just at the sales center last week and the BLT models were no longer available for tours. We did not see any evidence of construction changes however.

The models usually open when sales begin.

With BLT, models opened a week or so before sales began for current members and 3+ weeks before non-members could buy. Just for the sake of full disclosure. ;)

The villas are already being built in the sales center. We took a sales tour in August and were allowed to peek into the new construction - we saw what the hallway will look like, it was completely finished.

Needless to say, the Villas will be ready to go whenever they want them to be, and it could be sooner than we think!

OK...our next DVC vacation is in December. I sure hope the preview center is opened then!

I'm curious to see the rooms, too. However, I'm afraid buying (and perhaps even staying) there is going to be out of our price range. I wonder if the preview center will replace the traditional ice cream sundaes with caviar and pâté?

UGH! I really hope not... :lmao:

Oh please tell me what the hallways looked like! Yes, I'm that crazy and excited for the GFV that any bit of info makes me happy.:lmao: What were the colors?
Thanks!!

We will be at WDW in Dec and I would be so happy if there were models to view!!:hyper:

IF my husband remembers correctly, our representative told us that the models would be ready at the sales center on November 4. :scratchin

:) Well, the first thing the guide said was it was subject to change, so it could certainly change as the plans for the actual building progresses. I've never been in the Grand Floridian in the rooms area so I don't know what they look like. Plus it's been two months now so my recall is a little hazy.

The walls were painted and not wallpapered. It was pastely and at the time I thought rather bland, actually. Not pastely, like Beach Club, but more like very pale yellow, really like a cream color on the walls. The trim was white. The sconces were gold. The flooring was carpet but I don't recall what that looked like, I think it was an intricate pattern with hidden Mickey's but didn't look super long at it. Again, they could totally be changing that between now and whenever they open it. The guide said it's common for things to change as the buildings progress.

We were too excited at the prospect at buying our own DVC to care that much about it, though it did occur to me afterward that someone might kill for that information, lol. I think we were thinking we would probably never be staying there with our three kids!! :goodvibes

I hope it is November 4th cause when we go in November after thanksgiving, we will definitely check them out!!!

I hope November 4th also! We will be there Thanksgiving week and would LOVE to see these also. I want to buy into GF depending on the price though.

Thank you so much for the info!!!

I'm not getting my hopes up that the villas will be that impressive. GF rooms already look like granny's house so I'm sure the themeing will continue. I do wish DVC would go a little less "homey" and a little more upsale.
