We had tickets for the party on Oct.4. It poured rain that night starting about 6PM and wouldn't stop. We have small kids and it was lightening so we decided about 8:30 we just couldn't go.
People coming back to our resort said they didn't stay and everyone was just huddled under shelter at MK. Several kids even complained they got no candy. I want to say that makes me feel better about our not going but it doesn't!
They did do fireworks about 10:30. I know there are no refunds. Did anyone attend? Was it worth it that night anyway?
DH doesn't want to go next year because he says it was a wasted $200.

There were refunds. Email wdw.guest.communications@disneyworld.com.

As mesaboy2 mentioned, they were offering refunds. They were also offering tickets for the following night's party.

I watched the delayed fireworks that night from the Poly beach. I heard that the line for refunds was over 2 hrs long and they offered either tickets for the Friday, Oct 5 party or refunds.

I would send an email describing the night. There's a chance they may still refund your money.

We went and got a refund the following day before we checked out. We had to show our tickets and receipt.

I stood in rain for 3 hours and got our tickets switched to the following night at no extra charge. They were also giving refunds, or Day passes for the Magic Kingdom that were good for a year when the line got to be around 6 hrs long. So glad that friday's weather was so much better, we had a blast! I know alot of people in line around me just wanted refunds, but I had been looking forward to the party since I booked our trip and was set on going.

We were there. I didn't know they would give refunds. It did rain like crazy until about 10 - 10:30. Then it stopped and we saw the fireworks and the
2nd parade (of course the first was cancelled). We both got tons of candy. Yes it was wet, but we still had a good time. No waits at any rides and short trick or treat lines. We didn't meet any characters, although we weren't really planning on it. I saw the villians at the Tomorrowland Terrace about 11:30 with a pretty short line.

Would I say it was worth the cost, with all the rain, probably not. But I did get to do enough that I would not ask Disney for my money back. They did all they could to make it work for the people that stayed.

I did think it was funny, toward the beginning of the night, when it was just pouring, they were still standing in the entry to Fantasyland checking wristbands. While I do thank them for their diligence making sure no one was there that didn't pay, a lot of people thought it was funny. I mean who would walk around in a monsoon that didn't pay $60 for it??

We went on the 30th and got rained on. We were at Epcot the 4th and felt terrible for the party guests we saw at Fench Quarter they were soaked and looked miserable

We went and stayed until midnight. Once the rain finally stopped, around 11pm, it was pretty fun. But they did offer compensation in the forms of attending the party on Friday, using the ticket to come to the MK another day within a year, and refunds were processed at the resorts.

We were there. It was our third Halloween party, and it was miserable!!! What made it even more depressing is that it was my family's last Halloween party together for a while as my oldest son is getting close to college and won't be able to take fall trips. We tried to do a few things, but the lightning was very dangerous so we decided to go to City Hall to figure out what we could do. After standing in line for about an hour and a half (and literally moving less than 10 feet!), a CM came with a stack of one-day passes to MK which is exactly what we wanted since this was our last night and couldn't attend any other parties. We also had not gone to MK earlier in our trip and really wanted to do some of our favorite rides. We used our one-day pass the next day to go to MK for a few hours before leaving Orlando. We got to do all our favorite rides, some even several times, which made up for the lost night. It wasn't ideal, but I'm thankful for Disney even offering compensation. I do just wish it was a little more organized though.

We were there. We ended up getting tickets to the party on the 5th for free and had a great time! The 5th had beautiful weather for the party and it wasn't too crowded.

I only waited about 10 minutes in line at guest relations on my way out, but that was right after midnight.

I'm assuming the long line everyone is talking about was earlier in the night?

We left at 9 pm, after my DH stood in thunder/lightning/rain waiting for a refund. He gave up after almost an hour - people cutting in line - the line never moved. Yes, we too wasted our money. :sad1:

I would try calling today or send an email. You didn't have to get the refund that night. They were offering them the next day at my resort.

Doesn't hurt to try.
