For lunch yesterday, budafam & her DD were at DHS's...



Hollywood & Vine Character Buffet

budafam said, "We tried to check in early but they were "running behind" so we had to come back later... we were seated within 5 minutes of checking in the second time around. The lobster mac & cheese was GREAT on the buffet. DD really liked the chicken nuggets (so did I)... the characters were great and the service was also good. I hear such bad things about this place but we've been there twice for breakfast and once for lunch now and loved it everytime. Don't shy away from here!!!"​

budafam said, "We went to Boma for an early dinner. We were the second family to be seated after they opened. I love Boma. I've been there twice before and the third time did not disappoint. I just wish I could've eaten MORE! lol... the seafood stew was on the buffet that night. YUM! And of course, the desserts were pleasing."

That crepe from CRT looks amazing!!! Everything looks great, I can't wait! I'm having trouble deciding if we should do 1900 Park Fare or CRT for dinner! I really love the idea of being at the castle (I've never ate there) but DD is only going to be 2 and it's a lot more expensive than PF. And the characters are supposed to be great at both! Geez, what an awful problem to have!

I'm still looking for the following people:

nessz79 - is taking a 2nd trip to WDW and this time bringing the whole family, including the in-laws! Arriving sometime around Oct. 18???

CupcakeLisa - Lisa will be Honeymooning with her new hubby at OKW beginning around Oct. 19??? And I bet she will be having some of those delicious Disney World cupcakes!

ksack - will be arriving at WDW sometime around Oct.24??? Coming from the Frozen Tundra to thaw out in the warm Florida sun.

Krissalee - Krissy and Craig will be celebrating their 14th Anniversary at the World sometime in early November??? And will be staying at the BWV.

AeroKU - my neighbor from just up the road (Bloomington, IL) will be visiting the World sometime around Nov. 11???


If you are one of these people, I would love to get the exact dates of your trip so I can update my list in Post 2 of this thread. Also any other details of your trip that you would like to share with us.


Also, I'm happy to say that I had many volunteers following my last request for Live Reporters. Thank you so much to all of you!

As of now, we could use one more person to do live updates next week (especially on the 16th and 17th). We are also still needing a couple of people for the last week of October (especially Oct. 29 - 31). In addition, I could still use a few more live reporters during the entire month of November, but especially from the 22nd on. For December, the second week is pretty well covered, but could use a few people during the other three weeks of December. So if you are going to Disney World next week or anytime after Oct. 28 thru the end of the year, please consider joining our team of Live Reporters.

I'm still here! Don't have as much time to comment on reviews (school is picking up again ), but just wanted to say that this thread is still awesome.

Ooo, I love seeing all of my pics up here... it's like reliving the trip again Today we went to Akershus for breakfast & Flying Fish for a late dinner... I have pics but I'm so tired I can't possibly get them uploaded tonight. We leave tomorrow morning I'll try to get them sent in Thursday sometime.

Also, Disney's computers were down for part of today and while we were at the Food & Wine Festival, I used 12 of my snack credits... turns out that the computers did not take any of the 12 snack credits away from my card!!! So when we returned to the resort tonight, the cashier said that I still had 17 snack credits to use up so we loaded up on candy & goodies to take home. Yay for Disney's computers being down!!!

By the way... ***Flying Fish was AWESOME!!!*** Loved it!

Thanks so much for stopping by, Donald! I know how busy you probably are now with school. My DD2 was home from college last weekend for mid-term break (which consisted of the students getting Friday off ). That was the first time I had seen her since Labor Day weekend. But I'll tell you the same thing as I tell her...although I sure do miss having you around, school takes first priority.

I love all your pics too, budafam...very nice job! Whenever you have the time to send them, I would love to post your pics from Akershus and Flying Fish. I don't think we have had any from Akershus yet here and only a few pics from Flying Fish. Also, if you went to Tusker House on Monday and took any pics, I would like to post those too, as I don't think we've had any from there yet either. Oh, and of course, if you took any pictures of those 12 snacks that you got at the F & W Festival, we would love to see those as well.

Quite possibly the most famous drink on all of Disney property! This delightful mix served in a hollowed-out pineapple does an excellent job of transporting you to the tropics!

Here are the ingredients: 2 parts Myers's Dark Rum, 2 parts pineapple juice, 3 parts orange juice, 1 part sweet and sour mix, topped with 1 part Bacardi 151 rum floated on the top.
