I'm glad your job is going well!

Yep - mine is at DS13's school. But I never see him all day! :upsidedow Which I guess is a good thing since I'm in the office! :rotfl:

Happy birthday to your DS! That's so funny about the homework...Madison would probably wish for a boatload of homework for her birthday! Her teacher doesn't give a lot of homework this year (pretty much just nightly reading) and she's so mad about it. She just loves school work....not your average 5th grader!

Thank you! :goodvibes

Oh DS11 doesn't see the need for homework at all, ever!! :lmao: (or school :rotfl:) He would rather use his time at home to play and have fun!! I don't think either of my kids have ever wished for homework!

Cake and Legos would solve all problems of the world for a boy I think! :rotfl: Hope he had a great birthday!!

So true!! Yes he had a great day, thanks! :)

Happy 11th Birthday to your DS! They grow up fast...I remember reading past trip reports of yours and I remember him being so young! Time flies!

Congrats on your new position! I work in the office at the elementary school here in town and I love it! I hope you end up loving your new job too!:goodvibes

I miss chatting with you now that your TR is over! Maybe I will write a trip report some day...I just have absolutely no time now that school is back in session. Can't wait til you start your PTR!:cool1:

Does any kid honestly want to do or like Homework, if they do there is something totally wrong with them.

:thumbsup2 Nice.....setting your our hours is a great deal! Congrats.

That was what did it for me!! I wasn't too interested until they said that! :yay:

Thanks Lauren! :goodvibes I know, I hate how much they are growing up and how fast time if flying by!

I was thinking about you when I started this job. I know I would enjoy it much more at the elementary level. So much drama in the MS! :faint:

I know, I miss chatting with everyone all the time. Maybe I'll get on that PTR soon. We do have a 3 day weekend this weekend....

Happy Belated B-day to your Ds11. :)

Thanks! :)

I know my kids don't!! I don't really like it either. I think the only homework they should have is to study for tests and things like that. They are in school all dang day and it makes me mad the nights they have to spend our family time doing more school work!! :(

I am so over the homework crap already.

Belle has had test after test the past couple of weeks along with the stupid science project that we spent all that time doing and now she has to put together a power point presentation on what she would do if she was President for SS. um, hello?? She's 10 years old, for crying out loud!!! Daddy's going to be doing most of that project. We'll see how they like what she comes up with, with him doing it b/c she was in tears thinking she didn't even know how to pronounce power point or what it was, much less what to do. Mark said don't worry baby--- it's what I do all day, we'll do it in about 20 minutes. Also Drew had a huge English project due today that he's worked on all dang week.

So tired of it.

It's just been one thing after another- and like you I feel like they are in school for 7 hours and need that down time with family to regroup.

And then of course you have MC... who is like whatever suckas-- I got my ticket outta here! ;)

I hear ya about H.W.!!! And I'm a teacher lol !

I was told at open house that I give less H.W. than the first grade teachers!!! Isn't that insane!?? I don't believe in giving tons of H.W. they are only 7 and 8 yrs old.
And the last thing I feel like doing is H.W. with my son when I get home.

I hear ya ladies!!!

It is crazy. And once they get to MS it's like the teachers don't even communicate. Sometimes several things are happening on the same day. And don't even get me started on the projects. :furious: That has got to be the dumbest thing ever!! Most of it gets done by the parents anyway, so what's the point???

Exactly -- they are at school for almost 7 hours, I sure don't want them spending the next 2 hours doing MORE school work!

Like I said before - if it's not studying for a test or nightly reading, then I don't think it's necessary to take time away from the family!

I remember in one of my math classes in high school the teacher would always ask if anyone had any questions about the last days math homework. The first half of the class was spent answering most of the homework question that people hadn't done. :rotfl2: I actually had a spare before that class and used it to do my math homework.

So excited for you guys! I love that picture of the lobby...we will definitely be making a visit to the GF in November to see the holiday decorations! I can't wait!

Will the gingerbread house be up when you are there?

I think so! Last November when we went, the gingerbread was being built from the day we arrived (the 11th). When we left on the 17th (I think that's what the date was), it was completed and open for business. We leave the 19th this year. I'm hoping it will be completed...we love getting some goodies that are being sold from the house!:)

Cool! :santa: We are looking forward to seeing it completed. We've only ever seen it in progress of being built. Which was pretty neat!
