I received a pin for 35% off the WL in September 2013. Right now we are holding a standard room. Is courtyard view worth the extra money??

We got the same pin! Right now we are booked in a standard room for 8 nights, but we are considering switching to a Disney cruise

Sure hope we get a discount too :)

Mind you, we'll go anyway but it means more money to spend on other stuff...

Like the extra little trip to Paris and Disneyland end of november:cheer2:
We were talking about going somewhere chrismassy for the weekend and then hubby says why don't we go to Disney? only 3,5 hours by train and when I wnet to look how much that would be: a special sale with discounts of 50% valid for four more hours. So we immediatly booked :)

Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh, life is good :thumbsup2

For our upcoming trip we were thinking we would walk over to the Fort to look at all of the Christmas displays and decorations I keep hearing about. I wanted to book a sleigh ride but could not figure out when would be a good time BUT, we will have a rental car. Can you drive thru the campgrounds?? This is one of the only things I haven't planned/thought through all the way.;)

I am not sure about a car, but what we are doing instead of the sleigh ride is renting a golf cart at FW. The rental is for 24 hours (although we will just use It for a few hours) and costs about $65 including tax. You can reserve them ahead of time by calling 407-824-2742.

We love the inner courtyard view. We had one with bunkbeds on the sixth floor of the south wing, I think the room was 6157. Fantastic view! You could see from the lobby area on the left to the lake on the right. Also, you could see the top of the Contemporary (California Grill). Only "complaint" was having loud people in the pool after midnight. I used it as an excuse to sit out on the balcony on watch their shenanigans.

Thanks, I was thinking inner courtyard. I will call when the systems are back up and running to make my request :)

Re-subbing!

WL and AKL are my favorite resorts. Sadly I am not staying at either anytime soon :(,,,,

HOwever, I am going to live vicariously through all of you!!!;)
Welcome back - pull up a rocker:)

kook! that first hairdryer pic made me spit out my coffee!!! :rotfl2:
Oh, no! Did you have to suction out your keyboard or is it just on your screen?

Which room view can you see wishes... Wood view or lake view... Thanks!!
Welcome, chimommy. Only from a Woods View room on an upper floor in the North Wing can you really see Bay Lake. The trees obscure much of the lake from most Woods View rooms. BTW, there isn't a bookable Water or Lake View at WL, but if you book a Courtyard View and request INNER or WL, then you will have a view of Bay Lake, if your request is met.

Check out post #2 on the first page of this thread. It has detailed descriptions of every view.:thumbsup2

I think so, as long as it's an INNER Courtyard View. Those rooms look into the WL courtyard, geyser, pool and Bay Lake. There are PA annoucements and music in the late afternoon at the pool party for 2-3 hours, but with your door closed, it's not bad at all.

The view is amazing:

LOL! That pic is awesome. When I 1st read your post it was on my Iphone and for some reason this was the only picture that was showing... so for a second I thought you were serious. This is exactly what I was hoping not to see. Thanks so much for the pics and managing these WL threads. They have made my trip planning so much easier and more fun!!
You're welcome and sorry for the dryer scare:flower3:

I know that if you have a cabin you obviously have to drive to it, but I don't know if they allow guests without a FW reservation:confused3

Inner courtyard is what I would request and a high floor.

Thanks for the welcome and the help! I hope I can get a pin... 35% off would be great. Trying to decied if we want to go next sept or dec. We have been twice in sept but have not stayed at a disney resort. We are trying to pick btw poly, wl or bc. I think we are leaning towards wl.

Try again tomorrow night when the system comes back up. I tried 3 times to move my WL trip and twice WL showed as sold out, 3rd time it finally popped up! Good luck!!!

Thanks, I will keep trying once the system comes back up. I thought it was weird that ALL of Disney would be booked, but figured it was just my luck and the holiday weekend. It would have summed up the month I'm having :bitelip: Hoping for luck tomorrow!

Hi gang! I've been MIA for a few weeks (ok, well, since we switched from WL to POR)...I just wanted to say it's only 1 more week til the ladies head down to WDW....who was it that we were looking to meet up with that will be at WL next weekend? I have to go back through the thread & figure it out!

We do have an ADR for WCC on Sat 10/20 if anyone's around let me now & we'll say hello!

You can drive over to and through the campground but may we suggest riding the boat over so you can leisurely stroll around and look or rent the golf cart as OP suggested. There are decorations to be seen near Trails End and hoop Dee Doo that may be missed if only driving your car around the campground.:thumbsup2

if you recently received at 35% off pin... how were you notified? Is it worth calling to see if I have a pin attached to my name?

I called for pricing and asked the CM to check for me. She had to look a bit but found it attached to my DH. I went ahead and booked while she had it in front of her.

Maybe you guys can help. We are staying club level at WL. My hubby said to stay one extra night but no club level available. Should I stay at a regular room the extra night at WL or move to another resort?

Thanks!

Hmm, interesting. It would be a bit of a pain to pack up and move for a night, but it would give you more info on CL vs non CL at WL, and you could experience two different room locations. I think staying at WL would be less of a disruption than moving to a whole new resort, so that's what I'd do unless there was another specific resort I wanted to get a brief sample of.

If you are booked at WL for the extra night it is possible that someone from WL CL could help you out with CL availability for that last night. I know December is busy, but there might be a better chance of them getting it for you if you're staying there anyway.

aahhha! I am so excited! I just booked our Wilderness Lodge stay for Feb 13th. I was able to pull off a night at the world before our Feb 2013 Cruise aboard the fantassy. I am so excited to bring the kids here!!

Question to put out there - We arrive into MCO around 11am and plan to take the Magical Express to the WL. Our car picks us up 10am the following morning to take us to Port Canaveral. Do you think we should try and squeeze in a visit to Magic Kingdom once we arrive or just hang out at the hotel and enjoy the amenities for the rest of the day? I bought a room only package and figured if we changed our mind we could buy park tickets last minute.

I am really torn...we will be so close, it might be hard to resist the temptation to visit the park. But if we can entertain ourselves without going I can save some money to be used on the cruise. I should mention my kids are 5 and 3. I think they are going to love it.

this thread is great!

I'm baaaaaaack!!!! Booked from 4/18 - 4/28 in a woods view, bunk bed room (no CL this time) - this after an almost major meltdown from DD8 who thought that SAB looked too scary and said she refuses to go down that slide and that she doesn't understand why we can't go back to her favorite resort, the WL, especially since it's her birthday trip...:upsidedow

Congrats on the pin for 2013 :yay:. We stayed in a courtyard view room (faced the inner courtyard/pool) and for us, it's totally worth it :thumbsup2. We had a first floor room and we not only loved the view, but we were just steps from the main pool :goodvibes.

Sure hope we get a discount too :)

I'll have to keep the golf cart rental in mind the next time we take a December trip. We've been twice right before Christmas, but have never been to FW and I have heard the decorations there are amazing and having a golf cart to ride around in looking at all the decorations sounds like fun :goodvibes.

We've stayed at the Poly, BC, & WL and while the Poly is our favorite overall and all the resorts do a great job of decorating, the WL just absolutely amazing during the holidays :santa:.

I haven't received a pin, but wanted to say I think it is worth it to call and check as you never know whether or not a pin is attached to your name :).

Thanks!

I would probably book the extra night at the WL so it's an easy transition. But with that said, I'd keep checking to see if that extra night opens up in CL. Good luck ;).

Congrats on booking a WL night before your cruise :cool1:. The WL is a beautiful resort and it might be nice to spend the day exploring the resort before going on your cruise; but then again, you are very close to MK (I'm not really helping :rolleyes2). Good luck with whatever you decide :wizard:.

I am still debating which floor Woods View to request for next month all based on that open versus enclosed balcony wall. Its our only 43" DS6 that I'm thinking about. Does anyone have pics of the two different types of balconies for comparison? Thanks in advance!

It is sooooo worth calling! That is how I found out I had the pin. It wasn't until today that I actually received an email informing me of the pin. There was also another pin in the email for free dining but it was only for January to beginning of march.
