What is the Polynesian's phone number ? I just like to make sure family members know where we are when on vacation and I was going to write it down for them but cant find it ? Yes we have cell phones but you never know so I just do it in case they cant get a hold of us by cell phone . I always leave the name of our resort and it's phone number. Anyone know the number ? Thanks:)

I'm guessing the number is in the first post of this thread. That goes to the call center, not to the Poly directly. I'm assuming they will transfer calls.

Lets face it, Disney is an expensive vacation, whether at a value or deluxe. But the ease and peaceful feeling you get after a full day at the parks is just priceless. That being said,I will only go when free dining or room discounts are offered.

Which is a better deal at the Poly - free dining or room discount?

If you are booking TPV or CL a good room discount is a better deal at a deluxe. I'm not sure about GV, you'd have to crunch the numbers. The number of "adult" diners in your group will probably factor in too. The last time I did the numbers our younger kids were both under 10.

Kids will 8, 6, 5.

Depends on how many people you have on the dining plan and the ages as well what the room discount is. Room discount has always been a better deal for us. This year since I am now paying for 3 adults on the dining plan, the free dining is a better deal. You just have to run the numbers.

We always stay in a garden view room as well, so i've never had the added expense of TVP or CL.

It would just be a standard room for the room discount or 2 adults/3 kids for the free dining.

Again, just run the numbers....

Figure out the discount that a room discount would be for the length of your stay...

Then figure out how much that many nights of dining would cost you for the people in your party. (I don't have the DDP #'s in front of me, or your dates to know if 2012 or 2013 pricing applies...but you can find this in the restaurants thread of the Dis)

Then see which one is bigger savings. :goodvibes

I booked a TPV with FD. I priced out the 30% room only discount and the free dining and it was slightly cheaper with FD because there are 5 of us. That was with DD as a child. Now that I have upgraded her to adult, the savings is more. It only make sense to book room only with discount if you do not get the dining plan. If like us, you are at max room capacity, and you'll get the plan anyway, then FD is cheaper even with TPV at Poly. :)

I have never been to the world in November. Is it still swim weather? Will Christmas decorations be up yet?
Anyways, your trip will be here before you know it! Have fun!

Um
1. Sometimes
2.Yes

Early November is a great time, as is September!!!
So ready to go!

This is wise advice.

Here are my own justifications to staying at the Poly over the mod resorts (which are really nice resorts):
- monorail...of course...it has to be said
- the festive Lapu Lapu pineapple drink made with 2 kinds of rum in a fresh pineapple heavy enough to call it arm strength cross training. Perfect on your balcony with kids sleeping inside http://www.acupofdisney.com/747
- Excuse for my girls and I to wear polynesian dress up clothes and not be out of place
...but the real reason that makes it a total value:
- No irritation from my husband about how long transportation is taking :thumbsup2

Omg. Yes yes yes all of this!

As others have said, you will have to crunch the numbers to see which one comes out to be the bigger savings for your family. We are a family of 4 (all adults) and a Poly GV with FD has come out to be the better deal over a room discount for us in the past. With that said, it also depends on the time of year, room type, etc. Good luck :).

Happy Dance!! :rotfl2: Just decided to extend our January trip to 7 nights!! yay!! Can't wait to get back to the Poly.

Just booked 5 nights at the poly in January - my family's first time staying there and my parent's first time to Disney ever.

My husband and i have been around the moderate block at disney, though my 3yo ds is so spoiled - he's only been at AKV on rented DVC points. I think the monorail will make up for it though!

Can't wait!

To everyone booking the Poly with discounts and have never stayed, you will love it!:lovestruc We book at other resorts, but always find our way back here to our favorite resort. :goodvibes

I saw that Tikiman has posted on his FB page, a new menu at Tambu Lounge. Has anyone who has been lately seen the new menu, or better yet, ordered anything? We'll be spending a lot of resort on our next trip and I'm thinking we may spend some time enjoying the drinks and a snack. Just curious what the changes are!

Congratulations!:cool1:
You will love love being able to jump on the monorail to get to MK and Epcot!
Did you book with the stay/play/dine discount?
I saved over $950.00 with it!!:thumbsup2
Have a great trip!

No, just RO - I couldn't justify s/p/d with two rooms...

thanks all for your kind words. Am happily researching away since we have no room requests...and I love to research!:p
