Can anyone comment on this excursion? It has great reviews on Trip Advisor.

We loved it. We went last year. This year we tried Nachi Cocom bc of its great reviews and we missed Mr. Sanchos

great! Did you do the all inclusive? I'm travelling with my 28 yo son so I'm thinking it would be worth the price :)

What did you like better about Mr Sanchos over Nachi Cocom?

I'm interested in this as well. We'll be on Carnival Glory next month and are considering these AIs. Thanks

What kind of beer do they offer? I heard they only 1 kind and it is draft beer. Is this correct?

We have been to Mr. Sanchos twice and plan to this third time. Advantages for Mr. Sanchos over Nachi for us:
1) Water toys and inflatables for the kids.
2) Nice pool (you have to do the all inclusive to get into the nicer pool).
3) Ability to rent wave runners, bannana boat rides, and go parasailing if you want.

The last time we went, we did have a slight downer in that our waiter just was not good (took way too long between showing up) - if you want a drink, just walk up to the pool bar anyhow but the food service for this guy was not on his game. He did have an attitude - and when he got an order wrong he corrected it not the best of ways (got us food that maybe sat neglected on the warming tray). Let me restate this... The way they pump out the hot food is similar to the way Ohana might do it at WDW - there is a big central grill where all this stuff is made (fish, chicken, tacos, etc) - and depending on what you order, the waiter goes over and gets it. So, if he does a crappy job of bringing cooked food from point A to point B, then you get cold food, or overcooked food etc.

Sorry for the long winded response, but that was our impression from our last visit (could be wrong or differrent). All that said, cooked food/service issues aside, the standard fare of Nachos, ceviche, guacamole, shrimp, was fine.

This will not deter us from going back because everything else good outweighs the glitch of one bad waiter (and their system of producing food).

Finally, if you go, go at your own pace and skip the excursion. Walk off the pier, get a taxi (pretty cheap), and come and go according to your own pace. You might save some money while you are at it..

With regars to booze, I believe that they had both Dos Equis and Sol. For AI, they do have a full bar.

Can you pay for the water toys without doing the AI at Mr. Sanchos?

Yes. I don't know how that works, but I know you can. I think you pay a fee for the beach and then a fee for toys. Also, I think you have to pay a rate for umbrellas and loungers if you do not do all inclusive. I do know, they would NOT let non all inclusive patrons sit in the area we were in-the photo with all the chairs lined up.

Mr. Sanchos has a few options: Enter and hang a left. Grab an umbrella/lounger (you may have to pay a fee for this) and order Alacart. There is pool on that side but not as nice. Not sure if this includes watertoys such as Kayaks.

Enter, pay the fee to get wristband, hang a right and you can get into the AI area and choose between daybeds, loungers, tables, there is beachfront area with loungers for AI but you can't go over to the non-AI lounger area. There is a nicer pool. AI includes watertoys such as kayaks but not inflatble slides.

Off to the far right, there is an outfit that rents waverunners, bannana boats, and parasails at extra charge.

Finally, there is roped off inflatble waterslide there that is added alacarte charge to everything (including AI - AI does not cover this)

Only our experience.....

We could not go up to the bar to get drinks(well, we could but it was full price if you did), they had to be ordered from a server...I tried :)

Sol was the only beer they had when we went as well...no second option unless you wanted to pay extra.

No top shelf liquors or shots for liquor...not that we tried to do shots, but there were college kids there while we were there and they paid extra.

Has anyone done both Nachi and Sanchos?

Is the reason why Sanchos is better due to the water toys?

Take a peek at those links I posted in a previous post....there are some comparisons in those. Of course someone may have some more recent information :)
