WDW Commando Club

I like to decorate my envelopes for mouse keeping... And make my lgmh to hang on my bag. And window clings for the hotel room (only for mod or value resorts, don't decorate at deluxe). Start a list of things you must pack. Make sure you have enough Disney clothes to wear on the trip. I'm currently in the process of buying clothes for my DD to wear on our trip.

You make a good point about the graphics side of it - I am in the middle of doing the various dining invites etc but I've run out of the clipart I want and now I'm annoyed with it lol... I've already chosen everyone's clothes, taken photos of the outfits with a piece of paper saying what day its for and what we're doing that day :rotfl2: I have a full packing list done, ready to pack and tick off lol.

I do need to start on my custom journal but its an arduous task and I'm burying my head in the sand lol - I think I've just answered my own question!!

Helllpppp!

I'm having nothing-left-to-do-at-the-moment symptoms... I can't cope!! We're going to WDW in March and I've planned everything, made all but one of our ADR's, colour coded my itinerary plan etc, chosen my food from the menus, got the Photopass+ sorted etc.... What else can I do? I want to do something for my trip, I neeeeed to be planning lol!!

During my nothing left to do at the moment time (in it now) I hit the news & rumors hard, and make a list that you can check back with closer to the time you are going, a lot of the rumors actually pan out but might not be mentioned again:crazy2:

Also I like to make a list of the shows we want to see, you can find the current times of them ( they don't change that much) and then figure out what rides to do based on the show, this way you don't have to run around:thumbsup2

For the shows in the World Showcase, they run crazy, they should do them on the hour or half hour, so you can start at Canada or Mexico and walk around from one country to another but they don't, and you can't see all the shows in one day, since some shows don't go on everyday:scared1:, so to see it all you need at least 2 half days. :scratchin

The way I look at it is if you have your ADR'S and you know what parades and fireworks you are goiing to, if you add the shows the rides fall into place, if it's a long line ride, get a FP or do it on a EMH

That is a really sensible suggestion actually, thank you! :cheer2:

Completely agree about the crazyness - the sheer volume of numerals printed on in the entertainment schedule irritates me beyond belief; 2:55, 3:20, 3:25, 3:35, etc - after about 2 minutes all I see is a jumbled mess of numbers and I just throw the sheet across the room!

I have a suspicion my DS (6) isn't going to be the slightest bit interested in any shows and trying to see them is not worth the battles I would have so that is going to be less of an issue for us this time round. Its disappointing as I would happily watch Off Kilter all day :rotfl2: but its DS's trip too I suppose lol.

There is a rumor out there that after the end of the year FOLK might be discontinued , so if your going between now and the end of the year this could be the last time you see it:confused3

I also have heard that at Epcot during the Food & Wine Festival, Chase Disney Visa Card holders can visit the Chase Lounge, you can get free soda's + wristbands for special viewing for Illuminations & Concerts:thumbsup2, this is exactly the type of stuff I look for to make for smoother touring, plus it's free and that's for me::yes::

Right know it's a rumor, but I have seen it more than once:crazy2:, are you back from WDW, How was it:confused3
Arrived back home at 1:30am today (Sunday).

It was sooooo awesome! The heat & humid really did me in (literally). In the past I've always gone later in the fall, because the humidity was at 97% it really squashed the commando out of me. So I didn't get to see everything that I would have usually like to get to, but it was still great, and have many new experiences.

LOVED, loved, loved AKL, thought the new restaurants that we tried (Artist Pointe, Tutto Italia) were great, alittle disappointed with the lobster I had at Narcoosees, but place was great. And for my leftover TS credit we went to..... Sanaa...very good DH loved it. Boma was great as usually.

:groom: Blue Man Group was fantastic!!!!!

Sounds like you had a Great Time:thumbsup2, Did you do the Epcot Anniversary:confused3, Score any more Transportation cards:confused3

Is the Autotrain cheaper then flying, and quicker then driving?? Where to you pick it up at, Philly???

Price will vary, depending on how early you book, if you have AAA they over a discount, and if you get coach or sleeper.

You pick it up in Lorton VA (about 10miles outside DC) it leaves at 3:30pm and arrives in Sanford FL around 8-8:30 (39 miles from WDW)

It might take a couple hours longer then if you drove straight through, but you can relax an sleep on the train and be fresh in the A.M. for WDW, where if you drove you would be wiped out::yes::

Price wise we try to book early, for the 3 of us with a AAA discount and a oversized vehicle, in August it was $849 round trip, for Nov we booked later it was $1039 round trip, but unlike flying you have your car with you and you can pack as much as you want:thumbsup2

We did go to Epcot on the 30th birthday- they gave out 30th anniversary buttons at the gate. They were selling speciality pins & merchandise at MouseGear but the line up was 3hrs:rolleyes2 to get in....so no way I was waiting that long to buy stuff the I got in Epcot 27 yrs ago. They also had special fireworks but we had dinner at Narcoosee & then went to MK to caught the ELP- I haven't seen it since they updated it. :thumbsup2 Disney took my favourite parade & made it better!
I asked for more transportation cards on boats & monorail, but I kept getting the same answer "nope, all out...haven't seen any recently"- I think cuz there were no kids with us, they were holding out on us.

About a month before a trip I like to visit What Do You Think Threads, I just read them don't post since being a Commando most likely you will get blasted and these threads are how The WDW Commando Club came to be:goodvibes

Anyway the reason why I visit these threads is to see what others have planned, with this info I know whether the plan I came up with is Golden or needs to be kicked up a noche:thumbsup2, 95% of these threads are textbook, seems like a lot of people are afraid of thinking outside the box:confused3, but knowing what everyone else is doing gives me a upper hand:cool1:

A long time ago I used to post on some of these What Do You Think threads, trying to give fellow guests some info that they may not know or that might be helpful, but that can backfire big time, some have such a stereotype of Commando's that anything we could add is just crazy, but then again you mock what you do not understand:confused3

Although being stereotyped sometimes is not all that bad, since we are stereotyped as those who run around the parks like a chicken with it's head cut off, or non underwear wearers:lmao:, oh if they only knew, it's nothing like that at all:rolleyes1, we are just planners who want to make the most out of our trip and have a full day of touring trying to experience all that WDW has to offer:thumbsup2, I guess we are just a different breed of cat:cool2:
