January 2013

Thanks for posting the discounts. I have Disney VISA card, how do I sign up to get notified on future discount offers?

We never got a notice! We still have not received one.. I found out about it here. We usually get the emails, I have no clue why we didn't!

My advice to everyone would be to hurry and book NOW. Yesterday I called at 11:45 and inquired about a specific room type at CR. I read on this site that not three hours later-- those rooms were gone, so I would not wait!

Good luck everyone!!!

Just goes to show how checking out the Boards are important ;)
I hope everyone gets the rooms they want with the discount they are hoping for.
I am glad we are using our points and have AP for this January trip because of how long the discounts are taking to come out. I wonder if they are anticpating not needing many discounts to attract guests to the parks because of the New Fantasyland opening?

that could totally be it.. I have to say though-- that room discount was pretty good. The Poly ressie we made was 35% room and our original POR was going to go down $953. NOT BAD. The 35% off room for our family (3 adults/2 children) is about the same as free dining.

Perhaps you are right though.. maybe that explains the wait. In the deluxe room category for January 15-21, the only deluxe (5 people rooms) in the garden view category that had regular (bottom priced) rooms left were Poly and GF. CR has been booked for quite some time.

good luck to everyone!

"DisneyWorld - Free Dining For Q1 2013

Disney has just announced their Free Dining for 2013.
For Most Nights 1/2/13 - 3/7/13

Disneyworld Value Resort Packages = Free Quick Service Dining
Moderare or Greater Resort Packages = Free Regular Dining Plan

Book by December 31, 2012, with your Disney’s Visa® Card and
use code T64 for Value Resorts and code Q85 for Moderate,
Deluxe and Deluxe Villa Resorts.

Note: This Offer will become available to the General Public on Oct 10th.
(Not sure if Codes will change.)

Book early to get the best choice of rooms.

As a General Guideline, If you enjoy eating at Sit Down Disney Restaurants and have 3 or more people in your party then the Free Dining plans are the best Deal Disney offers.

However, Please be sure to review the Dining Plan itself, even if you have used it before.
It has generally been tweaked every year for the worse but still not bad when free.

Try to Estimate how much 1 Sit Down Meal Per person and 1 Quick Service Meal Per son in the party would cost you and add that up for the daily savings. Then compare that to a 30% or 40% nightly room savings. For a Family of 4, that would be a total of 8 meals which could be pricey to be beat by a hotel % off. However, a Couple staying at a Higher End Resort may be better off with the percentage off. "

Not sure of the relability or where the source came from, but at least it gives up hope. :cool1:

I believe that this is the code for the Stay/Play/Dine discount, not FD.

I could be wrong, but I personally don't think there is going to be free dining this year. I think Disney has switched things up and are now going to be doing the package discount deal that is the Stay/Play/Dine.

So in an effort to be ready on the phone on Wednesday when this goes public, I need opinions. I currently have AoA Little Mermaid booked for Marathon Weekend. For ToT, we stayed at All Star Music in a Broadway room and I actually really liked it. I didn't like All Star Movies, and was iffy about Pop, so I was surprised by ASMu. Would you keep AoA for 703, or switch to ASMu for what would end be being 466 based on 25% off the current price, go completely different and upgrade to a mod for an approximate 756, or do a split stay ASMu for 3 days, deluxe resort for 2 (probably AKL) also for around 750? So many choices!

Your options may be limited to availability. Unfortunately, you may not have that many choices.

That's fine and exactly why I want to make a preference lust before calling. Worst case, I already have AoA little mermaid booked. The question was which of the options would you pick if available.

Gotcha! In that case, I think I would do the split stay to be able to fo AKL. We did that last year for two nights and loved it as part of a split stay. If that didn't work, I would be torn between trying out AoA or going to POFQ or POR. It is nice that having a discount provides you with more options. Hopefully, you will have a chance to make a change if you decide to do so.

We did P/S/D - wound up saving $624 off rack rates & $150 off what we'd already had booked at AoA - LM. :goodvibes

Nice!! :thumbsup2

I'm currently booked at AKL but the more I look at the price tag the more I think about switching to POFQ which is a resort I really like as well!

I hope everyone was able to get a nice discount yesterday if you hadn't already! I was excited to get ours booked, basically paying $400 for five people (4 Disney adults, one child) to eat for eight nights. Not too shabby!! :)
