The dream christmas cruise dec 2-6 2012

I'll be back tonight.
We are taking a drive to the port to watch the Dream pull out:cheer2::cheer2:

If the weather is good I will get a couple photos of her to share here.
There is a small boat launch near Fish Lips where nobody ever seems to go, so thats where we are headed. Its a nice park which allows our dogs too.

Can't wait to see The Dream in person.:thumbsup2

I will post when i get home. Im using phone for this. Laura and i arent as fond of Nassau like other Caribbean islands. We have done the Adrastra tour of the flamingos. That part was good but they take you on a tour of town. R ather spend time looking in a few stores and going to Senor Frogs for a drink or 2 Then head back to the ship.

You can watch the ship leave from past cruises on the Port Canaveral webcam archives. If you view the Sept 16th dream cruise leaving you will see us holding Canadian flag on top of ship

i will look at 9/16 when I am done here.

Had a great time at the port. It was cloudy, no rain but hot, 87 degrees. Luckily we had a nice shady palm tree to stand and sit under.

There were way too many people by the boatlaunch where there is no fence so we walked down to the other end of the park there and stood behind the fence. So you can see the fence in the photos.

1st we saw the Carnival Sensation.
There was a family on the back with a Canadian flag too.

Then the Freedom of the Seas came by. Boy thats a big ship!!

Then came the most Beautiful, Magical ship of them all,
The Dream.

you can type in port canaveral webcam. They open that site. It will load the port camera. Once that page comes up scroll down to the small print where it says sailaway videos. Click on that. It will bring up all the ship. Click on the disney ships. Then click on the dream sailaways. Once they load look for the sept 16 2012 cruise. Its just over 11 min long. About minute 8 or 9 the camera starts to pan to the aft end of the duck and the stack. We are standing there waving with flag im wearing my toque. ITS THE LAST CRUISE ON PAGE 2.

Happy Monday everyone,

Its a cloudy but warm morning in Forida today.
Watching The Dream pull out yesterday sure gets a person excited to get on her and take a cruise. I could hear the sail away party music and announcer talking. :goodvibes

It was the first time we had seen her in person. I loved hearing the ships horn blow as it went by us. The other ships horns scared the dogs but Disneys didnt. Guess thats due to all the critters on board. After all that ship has chipmonks, dogs, mice and an assortment of characters they dont want to scare.

Catch you later!!

Kathy

"3"Jeanette came to where thanksgiving festival is Not sure if she passed my booth. It would be funny if we were face to face in my booth and not know each other:rotfl2:1

Well good Monday morning to you too...

Nice to know it's still warm in Florida. We woke up to frost this morning in central Missouri, but hope to make it up to around 50 today. Getting very excited to feel the warmth of Florida again.

Thanks so much for posting all the new pictures. I love seeing them.

To re-introduce myself, I'm Brandy. Our family will be cruising the Dream for the first time. It will be myself, my husband David... who everyone calls "OB" (old and bald), our daughter Talia who is 17 and our son Keegan who is 12. They've been on the Magic and Wonder, but are both excited to get to explore the Dream and check out the new AquaDuck.

The teen daughter has decided to do the Teen Wild Side Adventure again at Castaway. She's loved it every cruise. Keegan will spend the day with the other kids from the Edge and for the two of us adults, it's simply a day to enjoy some quiet time together exploring the island.

In Nassau, we plan to just take a walking tour ourselves to the Queen's Staircase, hit the in-betweens and of course the Straw Market. The history Nassau has is a great opportunity for us to communicate with the kids. Keegan is homeschooled, so we'll be sneaking in a few learning opportunities where we can. After that, it's back to the ship for us.

I think my favorite animated Disney movie would have to be Lady and the Tramp..but as far as Pixar, it would have to be a toss up between Monsters Inc and Toy Story.

Love the Deernuts...actually look like something we'd see around here. My son loves to go deer hunting. He'll get to go again in November and he's already excited.

After the cruise, we'll be staying at the new Art of Animation Resort for a couple days...just to see what it's like. Talia's been to WDW, but Keegan hasn't. He doesn't do crowds well (Aspergers), but we're going to give it a trial run and see how he does. Our hope is he'll fall in love with it and we'll be able to take them for a week this coming year (you know, every kids should experience Disney at least once in their childhood). But, if it's not his cup of tea, it's no real loss... the other three of us would actually prefer the cruise anyway.

Hope to check back in with you all later in the week. I think I'm just about down to counting days.

Well I am happy and very sad to say we are changing to a 7 day cruise on the Fantasy so will cancel this cruise:sad1:
Greg found a great deal which we just couldnt pass up.

I am happy for it being 7 days on a ship I havent seen but sad to leave my new friends here and especially because I wont get to see a deernut in person. They look so cute!!

I wish all of you a very magical cruise!!!
I will be watching your cruise pull out and I definately will look for the Canadian flag .

:cool1:
Has anyone booked any excursions for Nassau or Castaway Cay??
Just curious.

We always rent bikes on CC and ride all over the island in the morning before it gets too hot. After that its what ever we feel like doing. We like to play it by ear and usually we cover every place grownups are welcome by the end of the day.

Anybody else ride bikes there? I love taking photos from the observation tower on the bike path.

Nassau we have done many of the tours already accept the Ardastra gardens one.
Anybody ever done that one?
We had it booked one trip but got rained out, so we walked to the Pirate museum and straw market then rode the horse and carriage ride by the port so had a great day anyway.

Kathy

We have booked a couples massage for Castaway Cay (first time ever for DH). It took lots of persueding (sp)

We have book a Atlantis tour of Bahamas. I usually never book anything fro the Bahamas because weve been there so many times but since we are taking a family who has never been on a cruise or to Disney or to the Bahamas before I thought it would be the best one to do.
