So we just got back a couple of weeks ago, so of course I'm planning our 2013 trip...of course, there wasn't supposed to be one, but let's not focus on the silly!

I was toying with going for Christmas decorations this time around, but couldn't decide between early Nov and early Dec. And then I had an epiphany! Dec 7, 2013 will be DBF and my 10th anniversary..... I think that just made my decision!!

That's early enough in Dec to not be too crazy crowded right?

Kook, we ate at Roaring Forks tonight. I chose the Wilderness Salad to offset the brownie, S'mores and Chocolate Caramel cupcakes we shared. :) Tomorrow is AK and a dinner ADR at 1900 Park Fare. We need sleep, but our ME luggage hasn't arrived post-4 hours...

Have a great trip! I can't wait to get some goodies at Roaring Forks. You picked some of our favorites!

Just booked our first stay at WL for September 2013! Yay!!!

Congrats......you're going to love the WL ::yes::.

Thanks for everyone's advice about upgrading to the Wilderness Lodge. We are excited about our first trip to Disney and staying there.

I called Disney for the 5000th time this afternoon and upgraded to a woods view with bunkbeds. We were struggling with paying $550 for bunks, but I know the kids (7 and 4) will LOVE the bunks. I have wanted to stay at WL since the start of planning our vacation and I am happy my DH finally agreed with me!

119 more days till our first Disney vacation!!

I think you'll be glad you upgraded to the bunks. My kids loved them when they were little ;).

Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! We're here!!! I almost cried walking in and again when the CM gave our room number... Exactly where I really really hoped we would be. We're in 6165. GC, did your family have it, too? It's at the very end before the outer facing junior suites.

Have a great time :yay:. Congrats on getting the room location you wanted....enjoy your time at the lodge :).

Thanks for the laugh, mickeynut1:teacher:

Have fun planning :). December is an awesome time to go with all of the holiday festivities going on and seeing all the beautiful decorations :santa:.

LOVE the Wilderness Salad and your dessert choices - that brownie is HUGE, but delicious. So tonight you'll dine with Mary Poppins?! If you get a chance, could you refresh my memory with what is on the buffet - I haven't been there since DD was little.
Actually, we aren't telling them about the trip until we hit the Orlando airport. DH would like to wait until they see the WDW sign, but I think they will clue in when we get on the Magic Express. We are going on the Pirate cruise the day after we arrive for Wishes. Everything is going to be a surprise. I think that is part of the magic.

I love reading this thread. Thanks for all the great info!
I could NEVER keep a secret like that:hyper2: What great surprises:goodvibes

Pop Warner, cheerleading and dance groups show-up 12/2 - 12/9 this year. Especially in the evenings, the parks will be much more crowded at that time, but WL will not since the kids stay at the Values. Also, the first weekend in December the Christmas parade is being filmed which will draw huge crowds to the MK. Just some things to keep in mind when planning.

Have fun planning :). December is an awesome time to go with all of the holiday festivities going on and seeing all the beautiful decorations :santa:.
::yes::It really gets you in the spirit - if they just had RO discounts after 12/25.

Life has been a bit hectic the past few months. We rarely get offered overtime in my job so when we did I took full advantage. The overtime ended yesterday and I suddenly realized I am moving to a new house on 11/1 and going to WDW and the WL on 11/11.

Lots and lots of stress with the moving, but getting to walk into the Lodge in just about a month is going to make the whole world right again.

I agree. We are considering a short trip over New Years next year since this year didn't pan out and I wish Disney would offer some kind of RO discount after Christmas. It doesn't have to be anything big, but something would be nice to offset the extremely high holiday rates :(.

Me too! Yippee!

Kook, would be happy to update you tonight's buffet. We'll be dining with Cinderella and the Prince, Lady Tremaine and the step-sisters. I hear they're great fun for the adults, too.

Congratulations! We were in 6093 and 6094, at the front end of the hall above the registration desk. Don't you just love that lobby view every time you step outside? Have a wonderful trip and we will be following along!

Thank you! We are super excited, the house is bigger and we are going to be able to have two christmas trees this year. That means one whole christmas tree dedicated to our WDW ornaments. How fun!

We recently took a trip to Wilderness Lodge at the beginning of September and while I was posting my trip report, several people commented that they don't see many photos for the DVC villas, so I thought I would share

We had room number 3524

Stacey was on - YAY !!

Our room was basically right around the corner from the elevator. Which is a good thing if you can’t walk very far. But it isn’t a good thing if you are a light sleeper. Because the elevator dings every time the door opens and closes. This begins happening around 5:30 AM and continues pretty much all day and most of the night until midnight. I tried to ignore and not let it bother me, but next time I might ask for another room.

We spent very little time out there, so it wasn’t a big deal. But perhaps, if we had a better view, we would have spent more time out there.

We all got dressed and went to check out the resort.

This pool had these giant jets on the bottom that created these huge bubblers throughout the pool. There were about four or five of them. It was really cool.

Have fun.....anything Disney is great, but I especially love Disney Christmas trees :santa:. Mine is all Mickey, along with all the other decorations throughout my house. For me there's no such thing as too much Mickey/Disney :goodvibes.
