Can someone describe the kids pool area at POR? DS4 can't swim well but loves the water. Is there a splash area? TIA

I read somewhere that the Visa promo is supposed to open up to the public on the 10th.

That is what two CM told me today when we reserved with our visa pre-public offer as i would call it. They said it will open to the public on the tenth but did not say if the discounts are the same. I booked on the third call back and received three different quotes so I sugest doing your home work to make sure they have pushed the correct buttons. I was given a three digit code for the correct offer which was the lowest and last. Thankfully!

Also - which buildings have the preferred rooms at POR? TIA!

Buildings 14, 15, 18 and 27 are Preferred - see first post for details.

The kids pool is round and about a foot deep:

are king beds only found in AB? or does magnolia bend have kings as well? i know there are no kings in the royal guest rooms.

I guess what I really want to know is where am I likely to be placed? It's just two adults and from what I've read some people say they wouldn't put only two adults in an AB room because they sleep up to five people! I requested an AB king but I'm wondering if anyone has an idea of where we might end up!

I've only stayed at POR twice (once way back when it was called Dixie Landings), and I got AB both times as a solo. (I requested it the second time.) Plus, if you think about it, all rooms except King rooms can sleep up to four, and I'm assuming there aren't a lot of Kings, so two people are most likely going to end up in a room that can accommodate more people than they have.

It also states that here and here.

Didn't need to quote me but thanks. I knew it opened then.

Attn: Andre, how many 360s would be necessary to perhaps do a VR 360 along the main path near the river at POR? Just an idea I had pop up into my head.

Green Path is what I was considering. Blue Path not sure about. THis would be a very big project. Let me know your thoughts PM wise. Maybe a few key spots or something. Kind of like key asked about areas? Just a wild idea I am sure.

Overall a wonderful vacation. WE were there 9/29-10/5, and DH said to plan another trip in a couple years. I think I will try for Nov/Dec 2014.
Thanks again for all the advice.

That is a short time window that can have radically different experiences. It can be a little hit and miss with warm weather but usually it is warm enough for this Wisconsinite to wear shorts.

Disney begins to transform for the holidays in early November with Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, Osborne Lights and the resorts being decorated overnight (literally) one by one. Around Thanksgiving, Epcot adds the Christmas Storytellers and Candlelight Processional. If Disney @ Christmas appeals to you, I'd recommend shooting for sometime the 2 weeks after Thanksgiving, which also avoids Food & Wine Festival (it sounded like you were not a fan). Thanksgiving weekend is very busy but it drops off quickly for the following week. As you get closer to Christmas, things pick back up. I've heard the parks actually hit capacity on Christmas Day, at least the Magic Kingdom.

I just love Disney when it is all decked out for Christmas. I'm sure many people have their favorite things to do. Mine are the Osborne Lights, the Epcot Storytellers and resort hopping to see the decorations, especially Grand Floridian and Wilderness Lodge.

Just a series of snaps would probably suffice. Or a camera mounted to the front of a surrey bike... which, come to think of it, I actually happened to do a year or two back. Methinks some video editing is in order one of these days!

Very cool, but just snap shots don't show all the angles. lol. But if you did a video of it that could be cool also!

Why not just borrow the camera that google map uses :) now that would be cool!

Yeah they should use the google bikes and go through the whole WDW resort, or at least main areas.

OK, so we get four of us with SLRs and wide lenses to vacation at the same time, and strap the cameras to the top of a Surrey Bike with a simultaneous shutter release system set up... :)

Only 31 more sleeps until our first stay at POR! We have been counting down since 159 sleeps. We are almost there.:cheer2:
