I WAS planning a solo trip but I convinced my husband to go if I paid for all of it. Then I was laid off so he decided he didn't want to go if he had to pay (I had to beg him to go to begin with!). I got a freelance job so I can afford the trip solo. My Dad said he'd come if he could afford it and I had a friend who said she'd come but I'm not going to wait around on anyone else to decide or pay and I had to take charge. So today I changed my ressies to 1 person (me! :cool1::rotfl: ) for Art of Animation for 7 days! :cheer2: Really nervous but excited! I've never vacationed anywhere alone!

Congradulations on your trip!!! I know what you are going thru, that's for sure. You have to admit, wasn't it fun pulling the trigger and booking everything. :cool1: Way to take charge.:goodvibes

Ohhh, you're gonna have so much fun!! Doing the things you want to do and all on your own schedule! :woohoo:

During each one of my solo trips, I pick something to do that I've never tried before. Last trip was to do all 4 parks in 1 day, that only works if you've got the park hopper pass and both early and late EMH. I ended up at the Studios riding the re-vamped Star Tours! I'll never do this again, it was a LONG day for sure, but I've marked it off of my Disney bucket list and am onto the next thing on the list-- a photo taken from each photo spot on the park map.

That's a really good idea! I do have hoppers so maybe I'll try and do it on one of my extra days! I'm also going to try pin trading to keep me interacting with people as I'm by by nature and probably won't strike up a conversation with anyone.

You could totally do the pin trading at all 4 parks in 1 day. If I was into pin trading at all, I would do that. I've also found that most cast members are very friendly to talk to as well. Going solo also means that you sometimes get moved to the front of the line at some rides when they need only 1 more person. Oh and I always offer to take pictures of families, that way the whole family can be in the picture.

I've never done pin trading because it didn't interest me BUT I know if you buy some pins off ebay (actually I think my Mom has a bunch too) it can be a cheap souvenir. It seems like a fun solo thing to do!

For some reason I didn't read the 2nd part of your first reply. 4 parks in one day is a lot! I might try that  :lmao: I do want to try to do a rope drop, something i've yet to experience! I may even try the cupcake challenge!

Congrats on your solo trip! A trip to Disney by yourself is pretty amazing. You can do whatever, whenever, don't have to worry about anyone else. It really is an indulgence!
