Help. Is it worth it?

Ok, so we are booked Jan 19-27th at AKV in a studio suite with a 35% room only discount with the Disney credit card deal. We are debating on getting the extra space of the 1 bedroom villa. It's about $900 difference in price. We will be using the room and the resort as much as going to the parks.

We are used to staying off property with a big 1 bedroom suite, so I'm afraid the studio suite will seem really small in comparison. My dh does not really want to take this trip, but is going for the rest of us. I think he will be much happier in the 1 bedroom, but the price is what is stopping us.

Is there anyone that has stayed in both that can tell me if there is really that big of a difference in space. Right now both are available at the discount and I want to make my decision sometime tomorrow before the deal becomes public, because I have a feeling that once it does the rooms will disappear.

Help!!!

Have you considered renting points from a DVC member? You may be able to get into a one bedroom at a better price then Disney will offer.

I'm a DVC owner, have made dozens of trips, and my rule is that I will not stay in a studio if the sofa bed has to be pulled out. If extra sleep space is needed it's either a 1 bedroom or a hotel room with 2 real beds.

Once the sofa bed is out, there is no room space left.

I agree with poster. I'd rather have a regular room with 2 queens then a studio with only 1 bed and pull out. Does the promo include regular AKL rooms or just dvc for 35% ?

I wont stay in a studio anymore (ok, that's a lie, I'd still stay at CSR if I HAD to) but with DVC we bought it 100% because of the 1 bedroom villas.. LOVE the 'living room' with full kitchen, washer / dryer and the separate bedroom.. Plus we bought at AKL and kidani has TWO full baths in a 1bdr.. Allows me to stay up and either watch TV / mess on the computer while the wife sleeps or vice versa.

Using the room that much would look hard into a 1 bedroom

Is it worth it is so subjective. I there a big difference in space, yes, a lot. The master bath is huge with a large walk in shower and separate jacuzzi tub. The bedroom will have a king size bed. The living area is nicely sized with a queen size sleeper sofa and a pullout sleepr chair. Also another full bath. And a washer and dryer and kitchen. So pretty good size.

But it comes down to what's important to your family. The studios at AKV are nice size IMO. Decide what YOUR needs are and how much the $900 strains or doesn't strain the finances. I etching to consider, in late January you may not spend a huge amount of time at the resort. It can be quite cool then and maybe too cold for much swimming. Or, it may be warm.

This thought made us decide to upgrade to the 1 bedroom. It won't strain the budget and we will use the room and will love the extra space. I'm getting so excited.

Good choice. And you can go home with clean clothes.

I'm glad to hear this. I absolutely love the AKV 1 bedrooms. You will love this resort and this villa. Have a great vacation.
