Do, DW and I have stayed at both the GF and BW and truly enjoyed each. This summer, we have 5 nights booked at the WL.

Well, last night DW was looking at prices and posed this question to me:

Would you rather stay 4 nights at the GF or POLY with a TP view room, or 5 nights at WL with a courtyard view room? After looking at the numbers, it appears that the cost would be roughly the same, just one night difference...

The trip will be Myself, DW, and DD (15 months). I am not sure what to think at this point as I thought we were settled, but DW has left this decision to me.:confused3

Is TPV a must have at Poly and GF? Possibly 5 nights at those resorts w/o TPV. TPV is pretty pricey. It actually costs more to stay TPV (regular room) than GV CL at Poly. Always would choose more nights no matter what resort.

Yeah....TPV is a must, haha. When DD goes to sleep, we will probably sit on the balcony (if we get one at POLY) and definitely at GF for hours talking and watching the castle change colors, etc.

TPV is about the cost of the extra night at WL and with the discountsthat "may" come out (they have every year at the time we go) it looks like the cost would be about the same if we took a night off of the trip.

We are not opposed to WL at all (never stayed there but heard great things), we both truly enjoy the TPV and the monorail though...So DW asked...

There is a "TPV" at the WL....not bookable, but gorgeous nonetheless if you get it....

I never traveled with a 15 month old. If I did, your logic makes perfect sense. I have stayed at the Poly (several times). GF once (going back again next Summer). Tough choice. Best of luck!:goodvibes

If you are already day-dreaming about sitting on the balcony watching the castle change colors, talking for hours....go with the 4-nights with a TPV.

This is tough. In doing so, we lose a "disney day," but would save on park tickets, etc.

hmmm

Do all Disney resort hotels hae "kiddie pools?" Disney's website says they do, but I am not sure. I know Poly does (as well as zero entry) and GF has a new one. Does WL?

trying to come up with the best combination of things for DD and DW/yself as possible out of the three hotels.

We will probably spend the vast majority of our time at MK (maybe a day at Epcot) so we have it narrowed to WL (boat to MK, boat to CR and Monorail to epcot), GF and POLY (monorail to all)

Pro's of 4 nights at GF:

TPV balcony
Monorail
Kiddie Pool
Easy access to MK

Cons:

Cost
One Less Night
Cost...Cost

Pro's of 4 nights at POLY:

TPV
Monorail
Never stayed there
Kiddie Pool
Easy access to MK

Cons:

Cost
One Less Night
No garunteed balcony

Pro's of 5 nights at WL:

Extra night
Never stayed there
Garunteed balcony
Boat to MK
Cost

Cons:

No direct monorail
No garunteed TPV
Kiddie Pool?

WL has a kiddie pool. :thumbsup2

I'd keep the WL. It's beautiful and serene and you get an extra day. The Poly is my fave resort too but I'd pick an extra day everytime over a different resort with less time.

I would do the extra day option. We went to Disney with our DD at 12.5 and 18 months and are headed back in 2 wks for her 2nd bday. With a little one the extra day is nice so if she has a rough one you aren't upset if you miss a half a day at the park. It allows you to slow down and enjoy a bit more at her pace. Just my two cents.

TPV from the Poly, yeah if you have binoculars....for what the Poly charges, not worth the price....way over priced.....

We're big fans of WL, over 12 stays there, but have done the Poly years ago......so much nicer being away from the day visitors that seem to clog up the Poly plus WL is all under one roof......very compact and convenient and that extra day is the best part.....

WL, does have a kiddee pool, plus 2 hot tubs.....movies on the beach and marshmellow roast.....we'd do the WL without even thinking about it...

I am leaning towards staying at WL as well as we will be going back to GF for our 10 year anniversary in 4 years (if we go to often to the GF...is it still special?).

Anyays, anyone have pics of the WL kiddie pool? I can't find any online.

We are staying at WL this January for the first time. I was originally planning a 5-night trip at the Poly (where we have stayed before and love it!) and then figured out I could do 7 nights at WL for the same price...so I switched...and then I added another night at WL because...well...it's another Disney night! Will miss being on the monorail, but happy we can still take a boat to MK and excited to try out a new resort!

I would definitely lean towards the extra time at Disney, and getting to spend it at WL is an added bonus! We love the quiet secluded homey feel of the resort.

I looked through my pictures and couldn't find one of just the kiddie pool, but you can see it here on the left in the distance. It is right near the North side of the main pool, and is about a foot deep or less and I would guess about 15-20 feet in diameter. The hot tubs are on the elevated deck beyond the kiddie pool and main pool in the pic.

Enjoy your trip!

I just saw that there is a much better aerial pool pic on the second post of the WL thread, in this post: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=45704478&postcount=2

I would choose the longer stay, particularly with 4 days versus 5. I would feel too rushed in the 4 days (and more so knowing I left a day on the table, figuratively).

But, I don't think you can make a mistake on this choice. :cool1:

Good luck deciding!

You spend hours talking to your DW every night? You must be newlyweds. :joker:

i kid.. i kid.. kinda.

I'm in the minority as I would take the Poly TPV for 4 nights. We've stayed at all 3 resorts and while we love the WL and GF and think they are both beautiful resorts, the Poly is our favorite overall. We spend alot of time at the resort and we love the tropical atmosphere, the beach, and being able to see the castle off in the distance from just about anywhere on the Poly grounds :cloud9:. With that said, if you want the extra day, the WL is a great resort.
