2013 Free Dining Watch

To be honest, I am not as excited as many of you about the Stay Play Dine offer. I am really hoping FD is still in the cards when they release summer deals come April/May.

The Stay Play Dine is the equivelant of 5 days worth of FD. Because the savings are capped at about $600, those staying longer than a week do not reap the benefit.

If you read the specifics of this stayplaydine deal they say that it's based on a family of 4 but there's only 2 of us going... if it is pay the kids price for the free dining that would mean that it would be 350 dollars for 2 of us for 7 days ... I don't know that deal is a little unclear

IF the way to calculate de package discount is "adult at child price in dining and in tickets"
I think the way to compare both promotions is this:

Value
Room only promotion:
Full Rack Rate Magic Your Way Package plus Quick Dining (Value Room+Tickets+Quick Dining plan) minus Average Night Room cost per night for the entire stay per 25%.

Package Promotion
Full Rack Rate Magic Your Way Package (Value Room+Tickets+Quick Dining Plan) minus (Number of Adults x U$S 23,26 x nights of stay) minus Number of Adults x U$S 19

Moderate or Deluxe:
Room Only
Full Rack Rate Magic Your Way Package plus Dining (Moderate or Deluxe Room+Tickets+Quick Dining plan) minus Average Night Room cost per night for the entire stay per applicable discount (25/35%)

Package Promotion
Full Rack Rate Magic Your Way Package (Value Room+Tickets+Quick Dining Plan) minus (Number of Adults x U$S 38,43 x nights of stay) minus Number of Adult x U$S 19

I take U$S 19 as a average difference between adult tickets and child tickets.
U$S 23,26 is the difference between quick plan for adults and child per night .
U$S 38,43 is the difference between dining plan for adult and child per night.

Of course if you dont want the dining plan or the tickets, the comparation is useless and the room discount is always the deal.

I could be totally wrong :)

This is a discount on the total price of a room/tickets/dining package. It is not a discount specifically on the room, dining or tickets but on the full package.

I can't tell how this discount works as far as how many nights you can book or exactly what form the discount takes but it appears to be a varying percentage off the package price.

It sounds like when this is available to the public it is one of those things that you should price it out for yourself. If I can get a full package for the price of room and ticket, then that may make it easier for me to do all of it instead of piecemeal.

If you go to the February 2013 discount watch thread someone says that they talk to their triple A agent and discovered that there is in fact a free dining promotion being released ...I don't know if that is the "$600" deal; but it sounded like it was the traditional free dining offer that we but it sounded like it was the traditional free dining offer that we are all the use to

I ended up dropping a day and switching to standard view instead of pool view at AKL, but we saved $1400! So, better than free dining for us!!! =)

I called this am and made reservations with cm at wdw using the disney visa promo (thanks to y'alls posts!) and was told I have a pin for FD that just isn't activated yet...so I bet it is coming to public....usually when I get a pin code offer the discount follows shortly for the public. :cool1:

We saved $1793 on our package we had already booked. POR Royal Room Jan 3-13, 4 adults, 8 day park hoppers and the dining plan.

This is an awesome deal for us. As good as free dining (almost):goodvibes

I'm toally happy about this promo.

Now I wish January would get here already:lmao:

When I called this morning- the cm told me the same thing. That I had a fd pin that was not released yet. Did they give you any idea when it would be activated or what the dates are????

As far as PINs go is my understanding that those only go to people who have been to disney before?

No, all that is required for you to have a chance at getting a PIN is to be registered on the Disney website. As long as you create an account, they will have you in their sysetm making you eligible to receive one. It is a big mystery as to the who, why, and when for any given PIN promotion, but you definitely don't have to be a repeat visitor. :goodvibes

Yeah see i have been reading another board and some of the people on there say they have saved up to 1000, 725, and such. One was at a value. I don't know how. it is crazy

We booked and saved more than 600 at POR. When we finally got through all of the regular rooms were taken so we took a garden view and added dining and with the discount it only raised our trip $400. We are going for 6n/6d with 3 adults and 2 children. The savings that they are advertising at 600 is based on a family of 4.

Definitely need some math here. Which a better deal? 30% off s week at a moderate or free dining OR this save up to $600 DEAL? COULD the 600 deal be the next incarnation of 'free dining'?

While on the phone today the save up to 600 was the best deal for our family. We are staying at POR for 6nights and have 6 day park passes we have 3 adults and 2 children. It all depends though on how many people you are traveling with to figure out what the best deal would be. Free dining would be the best for us but it looks like this is the next best thing. We added regular dining and had to get a courtyard view and it added 400 to our vacation package. Sorry if this is confusing :(

Booked our Feb trip for 5. Two rooms with dining. Saved right at about $1000 with Visa pre-offer.

Did anyone else notice on the Chase site where it says, "ask about other great rates available 1/18-1/20/2013." Anyone have any idea what this means? Is this the next time they'll be announcing discounts?

The savings don't appear to be capped at $600. I just called and made our reservations.

Pop Century, preferred room, 2/7 - 2/15, 7-day tickets w/park hopper, quick service dining, 2 adults, 14 & 3 yr old and saved $789.87. I went on Disney's site and made the exact same package.

Is it February yet?!

ARRGH! I'm going to have to wait until I can hash through the numbers with my TA. Which probably won't be until next week. I don't think I can book using my Rewards ard, and then pay with another credit card, right? Because that's how I would have to do it--that, or wait until the dates open up for the general public.

On the good side, though, I originally planned to pay for the whole trip. Then MIL said she'd pay for hotel/tickets/dining plan. So, even if I'm "forced" to upgrade and get, say, concierge, in order to get a discount, it's going to cost me little or nothing. MIL does have a limit on what she'll pay, but it's a high one--enough to cover a week a the Poly with park hoppers and the regular DDP.
