Disney Visa Discount out - confirmed with WDW

Room only discounts are definitely varrying in amount. I just got 35% off my YC stay and only 25% off my WL stay. But still thrilled for the discount nice and early! Hoping my AP or FL res will be even more if a discount :)

I would have the CM run the math for you both ways using both discounts and see which one works better for you!

I just changed my AAA discount at AoA LM room only to the Disney Visa (almost free dining) package at Pop. There are actually 2 different ways to go with the Visa offer...room only OR a discounted package with dining. The gentleman that helped me described the package as something they've never done before since it's a discount on the whole package. He also said it's like "almost free dining". It sounds like it may be the "adults eat and play for the price of kids" that's been discussed here in the past few days. It does save me almost $600 over rack rate, so I'm pleased with it. :goodvibes
January 5 - 11
3 adults
Pop Century - Standard view
7 Day base tickets
Disney Dining Plan - not QS (he quoted me the price w/upgrade which I wanted)
Total package is $2,096.34
Good luck everyone! :lovestruc

WTH?! I have to confess I'm rather annoyed right now. I've called twice this morning and talked to two different very nice CMs who offered me the exact same package discount, and it's nowhere close to the one above, yet my vacation is very similar. We're booked in a LM room for 2/1-2/9 for 2 adults and 1 child, 7-day base tickets, and DDP. Our original price was $2,878. The rate for us to change it to Pop would be $2,660. That's only a $228 discount. :confused3 I even mentioned that I saw that someone else saved almost $600 on a very similar scenario but the CM couldn't come up with anything different or better.

Doing the play/stay/dine package for 8 nights at POR. Ended up saving $890. Not free dining, but about 5 days close to it. :cheer2:

Switched discounts and added dining. They didn't have royal rooms.

Room only discounts in 7 nights royal room 4 adults, 5 day tickets no dining was going to be 2,484.

MYW discount- 7 nights, garden view, 5 tickets and dining 3,069.

When I priced out full price 7 nights garden view, 4 adults, 5 tickets and dining it was 4,355.60 Pretty good savings IMO

k i just got off the phone and def no free dining coming out. sorry kids. the visa promo will be available to the general public in 10 days. and there is our promo.

Dates are key. They really do matter. The beginning of January (the poster before you) is the deadest time pretty much.. by the time your dates roll around, the crowd calendar I have access to indicates a much busier time..

Remember - these discounts are offered to fill rooms... if rooms are pretty well taken for your dates ... not much of a need to discount and so the discounts are considerably weaker.

ALSO - besides dates, discounts vary considerably by resort.. the LM rooms are in high demand and so its not terribly surprising they would be discounted less than others.

You should call back and check for different resorts (Pop Century for example) and I suspect you will see considerably different discounts.

Actually, the week we go is one of the lowest and among the lowest rack rates. I was checking for Pop Century when I got such a lousy offer. Hmm, I'm thinking I will try choosing different options when I call back and say I've never been there b/c Disney technically has no record of our previous vacations there - we bought tix from UT and stayed off-site. Wonder if that would make a difference.

Just booked POR for 2/8-2/16 with 5 day base tix and dining for $3211.58. A savings of $1112.95 vs online prices.

Free dining would have been $2853.09, so the current deal isn't as good as FD, but it's still a significant disount.

My first resort choice, CSR, was already booked . Hopefully we enjoy POR as much.

Yes, your dates make a HUGE difference. We're moving our dates up by 2 days because the last 2 days we were planning to be there were driving the cost WAY up. Room rates were $80+ more for those 2 nights. I checked several different resorts at both the moderate and value level and those 2 nights were more expensive across the board.

the room offer deal blocks out all rooms but standard at AKL. Does the eat play dine block out specific room types as well? It doesnt say on that site... it just says wilderness lodge

Do we know if/when these discounts will be released to the public? We have friends who are thinking of vacationing with us, but were waiting for a discount to run the numbers and decide if they could swing it, but I don't believe they are Disney Visa cardholders.
