Staying at POP for first time ever next week (11th-15th). Doing online check-in and wanted to know the quietest area? Lol. I know I have posted before, but I NEED quiet to get to sleep. Any suggestions?

:goodvibes We believe the lake view rooms are very quiet, also suggest you ask for an upper floor as well. Lake view rooms are standard ... what category did you book??

For lakeview rooms, we like bldg 3 (50s) and bldg 4 & 5 (60s) the best. 70s area is a very good location as well, its the one area we have not stayed in. Sandi on our POP thread has and I know she likes it. :goodvibes

Booked at POP from 10/31 to 11/6 in a preferred pool view. Any room suggestions....would like semi privacy? Hubby wants 1st floor....son wants 2nd floor.

I'm with Janet on selecting a lake view room. We have found them to be the quietest of the various locations to which we've been assigned. We have had lake view rooms in the 50s and 70s sections and were very happy with both. I personally prefer ground floor rooms for convenience, but for absolute quiet, my guess is that a 4th floor, lake view would be as good as it gets. Also, a white noise machine or app helps a lot!

:wave2: MeMom!! Yes, if possible, can you take a pix of the road sign I'm missing .... see post 1 for the ones I have ...

I will do my best. We won't have a car, so I can't slow down and get a good shot at will, but I will do my best from the buses. I don't know if the guard booth folks would let me walk out there for a picture or not, but I enjoy morning walks around Pop, so I might give that a try. ;)

I am back from another quick trip to Pop. We just stayed Sept 30 - Oct 2. Once again it was fabulous! Mousekeeping was exceptional. This time we got an elephant towel animal, towels for the pool, and extra shampoo. We were in building 3 again in the 50's. This time we were in room 3162. We were so close to the classic hall and equal distance to the 50's pool as the Hippy Dippy Pool!!

3162 is a GREAT location! :goodvibes

Did you book preferred, or was this assigned to you anyway?

No I booked standard. Check in was a bit of a problem. For some reason they couldn't get my credit card linked to the room key. I couldn't do it at online check in either. They thought maybe it was because I stayed there 2 weeks previously and the credit card company was trying to protect me? They didn't say it was preferred and there was no mention of an upgrade. I was wondering if it was a preferred location though. Now I know! Thanks!

Janet,
If MeMom can't get your picture for you and you want me to, I will be there the end of this month and we will have a car for part of our stay. We arrive on the 31st.

After booking at CBR and then POR...we have decided on Pop! I love this resort!! As much as I would love to try another resort, it just makes sense to stay here again!
:yay:

We were there in mid September and I'm 99% sure Everything Pop had the large white vinylmations near the doors to the buses. One of our neighboring rooms used a white 9" vinylmation for characters to sign and kept it in their hotel window at night, it was absolutely adorable.

Oh THANK YOU! That is exactly what I plan to do with it. :goodvibes

I just bought a glow in the dark one from the Disney Store web site. I can't wait to get it signed!

An awesome idea! :thumbsup2 My DD is sure to love this as a twist on the autograph books.:goodvibes

Is someone checking in on the 4th?

Maxim ... do hope your housekeeping has improved. :)

Well, seeing as you booked pref pool view you will be facing the hippy dippy pool ... and if you get the first floor, just know a head of time that this area will be busy with people walking to/from rooms and the pool itself ... translation, more noise and less privacy ... would keep the curtains closed if on the ground floor.

FWIW ... if you want this area, suggest you request an upper floor for less noise and more privacy. :)

:yay: Happy that you had another great stay and that you rec'd a nice upgrade as jcarwash stated.:thumbsup2 We were right around the corner (3160) in our stay in bldg 3 2 years ago. :) It is a great room location. :goodvibes Our housekeeper in August was terrific as well (Mariela) ... one day my niece received 7 towel animals!! Of course that was the day that she rec'd a lesson in making them ....she was ecstatic!! :upsidedow

That would be fabulous stitchlovestink!! And we will know by then if MeMom is able to get the picture or not. Thanks to both of your for offering! :goodvibes

I just wanted to say that last week we were traitors:confused3 We tried CBR for the first time in 7 trips-all others had been at POP. Within the first day we realized that all future trips we will be back at POP!!! Just in case anyone was trying to decide between hotels reads this I thought I would throw it out there. I instantly missed the simple layout of pop (took us 30 mins to find the room at CBR on foot) missed the food court and missed the overall energy that POP has. Go POP:cheer2::cheer2:

That's awesome that Mariela took the time to teach your niece, wow, 7!

I agree with you between POP and CBR! When you say on foot, did you walk all the way from check in over to the resort buildings? I know it's a maze to find the room. We've stayed there 3 times. Once preferred, once in Jamaica and once in what's now a pirate room but wasn't back when we stayed.

But CSR is my "home" resort. We book Pop when CSR's rates are outrageous or there's no rooms available. Pop is our 2nd favorite WDW resort. We've stayed at most of the Deluxe or DVC resorts, all the moderates, and all the values. Saratoga Springs comes in at 3rd, with the Beach Club at 4th.

No problem Janet! After this trip, and these two stays at POP (pre and post cruise) I will have well over 90 days under my belt at POP! and now that my older DD had been accepted into the spring 2013 DCP, I know I will be back there again in January!! Hoping for a good AP discount for that stay! But after that, it is going to be so difficult to choose because with her awesome CM discount, we can get a GREAT rate on a POP room but I could also try the deluxe I want to for the best rate I'll ever get. I'm going to have to visit DD ALOT!! Oh the dilemmas of having your kid work for Disney!! LOL!

Congratulations to your daughter for getting into the college program! How awesome for you!! January is typically a great month for getting AP discounts! Unless you will be there over Christmas-New Years if she starts early in the month.

Wow, 90 days at Pop under your belt!

We're going to be checking in to POP tomorrow! :cheer2: We normally camp at Fort Wilderness, but this will be a quick trip so it's not worth the cost of towing our camper down. POP is our favorite Disney hotel. I'll be arriving first with the kids and my husband the next day so we'll have two cars. Does anyone know how that will work? Will we get two parking passes? Will we be able to take both cars to the parks without paying? He'll be leaving before the kids and I so on his last day we both were going to drive to the parks and he'll go home from there.

It's no problem at all. Just ask for 2 parking permits when you check in. We have had to do this when dh has to work and meet us later.
