Morning... boss is back at work, so hopefully once I get him caught up, I can go back to doing the work of one person. I hope to be back to my usual screwing around on the Disboards time soon! :thumbsup2 :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:
:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Also, it's pretty late when you finish, so I may have just been a bit cranky... :lmao:

Welcome back, all you folks who were in the World recently.

I am having a weird day!!!! All day long it has been dejavu!!!! Anyone else ever have that happen the entire day???? Maybe I am getting ready to die or something!!:scratchin

It would have been awesome if you'd waited a bit, and then posted this again. :rotfl2:

Evening gents! Just wanted to pop in for a moment to say hello. We're now just 3 sleeps away from flying down to Houston, and 4 sleeps away from boarding the Magic. :cool1: I'm so excited. :yay: I can hardly wait. :dance3:

I know I don't post much in here, but I do still think of you and wish you well. If you need me for something specific, you'll often find me on FB. Otherwise, I'll pop back around soon enough.

Ciao for now.

Have a great time Stopher!

Morning All!!

Thanks to everyone for the Welcome Backs, it really was hard staying away from here while I was looking for work.

New job is awesome, they've shown more faith in my ideas after only one week than my old employer did over my last year there.

Glad to see you back, Randy! I'm thrilled you found a new job. Hope it stays positive. :thumbsup2

Excellent! :thumbsup2

I'm in Chicago for a quick conference. Sweet view from my conference room yesterday (80th floor in downtown Chicago!). If you have to spend 12 hours in a conference room, at least the view was nice! But my co-chair speaks pretty much only french, making our presentation challenging! I seriously considered switching to Latin...

I have a break in the meeting today, so headed out to catch the Cubs and Astros stink up Wrigley Field this afternoon. Then unfortunately have evening meetings. Already told the chair of my 5-8pm meeting, that I might come back having had a couple of beers. His response: alcohol should be served at this meeting. Would make it more tolerable (best chair ever).

Also, from Facebook, many saw that I finished my 2nd weekend of Wood Badge this weekend. I couldn't recommend this more highly. Best leadership development I have ever done. A real life-changing experience for me inspiring me to be a better leader/teacher, husband, father, and man. For those of you in scouting, take the opportunity to give yourselves the gift of doing this. You won't regret it.

Take care guys! Have a magical day!

Didn't see your PM till I got back, sorry! I did get a DisDad meet in at the race with Eric though. :thumbsup2

It was ridiculously hot!!! :furious:

Thanks!

I'll give my 2 cents; The run itself was great (though hot). Well organized, plenty of water/powerade stops, and things along the way to keep your mind off the run(characters etc.). The post-party was a mess though. I don't think ending it inside a park is a good idea. DHS was way overcrowded and confusing to get to bag check, etc. We were really looking forward to the party, and ended up riding Star Tours once and heading out because it was a so crazy. Also, it's pretty late when you finish, so I may have just been a bit cranky... :lmao:

The other review of the race said the exact opposite lol, said at times the course was boring but the after party wasn't crowded and fun, I still wanna do one, and prob will do this one next year

In all seriousness... I hope you don't die Steve. :thumbsup2

Just make up your own language. That would make it more interesting.

Or better yet, slip in a Peanut Butter or Beverly a few times. :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

You're going to need the beer just to get through an insignifcant game between some NL Central cellar dwellers.:rolleyes1

A day at a baseball game is still better than any work day.

Have a great cruise.

Seriously, who schedules meetings for 3-4 in the afternoon. :confused3

Management, i.e., people who have nothing to do.

You prob could of claimed mental disability and got out of it, that's pretty believable right?

Claimed? :crazy2:

Norm, Disney is getting very close, closer for you but only following by a day, DD is super excited, she's usually pretty shy and when I reminded her daycare about next week she said "yea cuz I'm going to Disney World!!" Lol she had one of this haha I'm going and your not looks on her face, priceless ohh and btw good morning fellow dads

Mine do it every year. I try to tell them not too, but I guess it is too much to resist.

Groundhog Day? "DON'T DRIVE ANGRY!":drive:

:lmao:

Back from WDW, had a great visit it was a fast an furious weekend. Ran ( well walked) ToT 10 miller. Ended up being 85 with 76% humidity at the start and Was DW first run so we started slow and DM was unable to keep pace so we waled the last 8 miles and had a great time. Finished in 2:36 or so and I ended up in the medical tent because my BP was a little too elevated for myself, quick turn around thou a little extra fluid goes a long way.
I will see if I can figure how to put together a short Trip report.

Oh and I had my first Dole Whip, I like.

Congrats on race and Dole Whip. Maybe one year I'll be able to run it.

That's more like it. There should be a law against work interferring with DIS Time.

Wow that's the easiest way ever to prevent yourself from dying

I think some of that may be tied to when you finish. When DS and I finished the EE challenge we were towards the front of the pack. We were able to ride EE 5 times in a row with essentially no line. After that the crowds seemed to come out of nowhere and the lines grew pretty rapidly. The bag check line was especially horrendous. After EE the park was crazy because parts of the park were sectioned off for the race. That plus the darkness made it really difficult to get anywhere and added to the confusion. Did the same thing happen after ToT?

The other review of the race said the exact opposite lol, said at times the course was boring but the after party wasn't crowded and fun, I still wanna do one, and prob will do this one next year
A not great Disney race is still better than most any other racing experience.

This week I've been checking the my Disney experience app to get a rough idea of wait times next week, I assume this might be a glitch but IASW says a 70min wait, a friend used the app 2 weeks ago an said its very accurate but why on earth is there that big of a wait for IASW? Lol I don't know many people who would ever wait that long

Rumor has it they drained the water on the ride and refilled it with beer. The person loading the boats hands you a straw as you board.

But still, to get to 70 minutes, surely the beer overflowed and shorted out the sound system too. :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

Lol I'm gonna try to get 2 straws, I just looked again and when it loaded it changed from 70 to 15, that sounds a lot more like it

Thanks to everyone for the Welcome Backs, it really was hard staying away from here while I was looking for work.

That is good news Randy. Congrats.

Congrats on the race. Glad it was only a quick trip to the medical tent.

Listened to the Dis Unplugged podcast today. Eric gave a shout out to our little forum and mentioned your meet up.

The other review of the race said the exact opposite lol, said at times the course was boring but the after party wasn't crowded and fun, I still wanna do one, and prob will do this one next year

You might also want to listen to the above mention podcast. One segment they had 4 of the runners (including Eric and his wife) talk about their experiences.

Rumor has it they drained the water on the ride and refilled it with beer. The person loading the boats hands you a straw as you board.

Still wouldn't go on it.

What's your overall opinion of the race? The good and bad? Thinking of running it next year

It was a good race minus the weather. After running Tink in January we were expecting more Disney cast members and more of the behind the sense stuff we saw in Disneyland. A lot of the route was on the freeway between Animal kingdom and WWoS. But we had fun and the after party was decent. We would probably do it again. Metal was worth it.

That's ok I was late getting a Pm out. Glad you got a meet in, maybe next time.
I agree with the race report DHS was a mass of people and not much direction. We did the great movie ride and left. The only character I was hoping to see an get a picture with was Stitch and as we came up he went to change out, so no picture :(.
