We're taking my parents with us this year, and my father has recently re-injured his knee, in fact he'll be getting a knee replacement when we return. He can walk short distances, but will never make it in the parks.

I've decided to rent an ECV from Apple, but I'm clueless as to which model I should rent. Should we go with the Go-Go Elite or the Pride Victory?

Info: I'll be renting a large SUV and driving every day to the parks...and we'll probably be spending full days in the parks (and hopping). He probably weighs 180.

Will the lighter model last all day? Do they both dis-assemble in the same manner? What else should I consider?

Thanks for any help.

The Victory is a lot larger than the Elite. It also weighs more. With his weight, I would recommend the Elite. That is my personal scooter and it lasts all day in the parks with no problem. The Elite comes apart real easy. You just remove the seat by pulling straight up and then the same with the battery pack. Then there is a lever behind the seat post that you pull up on that separates the rear wheels from the deck and front wheel. There is also a wheel lock on above the front wheel and a knob to turn to lower the tiller. Real easy after doing it once or twice.

I agree with Peemag. The Go Go will last all day with no problem and the Go Go is easier to maneuver.

I agree with everyone else about getting a Go-Go for the weight size of the person driving.

For my heavier weight, I would need a Pride Victory for the larger battery and motor.

I would probably be fine in Florida at WDW with to Go-Go elite since the land is so flat with so few hills, but the heavier the weight of the driver, like myself, the more strain on the battery and motor and the faster the battery discharges.

I also tend to stay out all day and night and really love to drive from park to park and resort to resort in the same day to see all of the Christmas Holiday decorations in December.

Sometimes a steep hill comes into play like the ramp up to the monorail from the TTC to MK or MK to monorail at the end of a long day and high battery use.

Other wise I would be fine with a Go Go elite, too.

I agree with everyone else. Use the Go Go elite. Much lighter, can take it apart easier with lighter parts, sharper turns in the queue lines, etc.

While the Pride Victory lasts longer for a heavier person like myself, it is also a lot heavier and wider in size and makes wider turns.

Do plug your Go Go in everynight before going to bed to completely charge it for a full day's use regardless of what your little Go Go battery needle says just incase you stay out longer the next day.

And get used to turning the power off when not moving such as dining or watching a parade or anything like that to save more battery life for all day use.

If you ever want to just compare your Go Go with a Victory while at WDW, go over to the Boardwalk Resort on the lake across from the boat dock and compare the two. They will let you try one and you will see what I mean about the size and turning. The BWV Resort is very close to the Epcot International Gateway and a fun place to visit.

I own my own scooter and it has served me well over the years. But now I am using it more at home where it is much hillier and I am thinking of buying a Pride Victory just to get up a steep hill that is steeper than the ramp up the TTC to monorail. I also weigh a lot lot more than 180 because my scooter stops going up the hill.

Increased weight, steeper hills, continuous battery use when not needed and not recharging battery overnight might not allow any scooter to last all day. But this is just my experience based on my heavier weight and use at WDW.

Best Wishes.

I don't know if you realize, but the Pride Go Go Elite Traveler Plus comes in an HD (Heavy Duty) model that takes up to 325 pounds. I have one of these and love it. I don't know if the people who rent the Go Go model have the HD model to rent as well?

Hi, thanks. Yes, I have tried one, and it won't make it up the hill in my neighborhood. My Pride Revo made it further, but not all of the way. But thank you.

I guess it all depends on the weight of the driver, and the angle of the hill, and the size of the battery, and the power of the motor. I am sure the Go Go HD would work for me in WDW, but I need somthing for a hillier and steeper road in my neighborhood at home to use if I don't buy another car.
