Also, I'm fascinated to know how you are taking teenagers over at this time of year as I presume school is still in session in Oz like it is here? Now that our eldest is 14, I had presumed we were now restricted to travelling in Dec/Jan if we want to go longer than 2 weeks so seeing what you are doing is giving me hope!!

Aussie schools in NSW (excluding some private) start holidays this Saturday and go back on the 8th or 9th of October depending on the school. So guessing that abuzzfanfromaustral's kids will only miss the last 3 days of this term and a few days of term 4, going off how long their trip is

Oh thanks Frangipanisam, I did not know that. I presumed we were on the same dates as, when trying to get hotel space in Fiji, we always seem to have to compete with the Aussies on school holidays!!

We're off today - 3 1/2 hours till we leave for the airport. Husband has picked up our 11 year old from school camp in Narrabeen, he was meant to leave at 5am but was so nervous about traffic he was awake at 3am and left then!! and they were on their way home but just rang to say my daughter left my camera at camp so they're going back to get it.

So nervous, I hate the plane trip - I'll relax once we get there.

I usually relax once we are seated on the international flight. I figure it's as planned as it can be at this point, now lets just relax and enjoy it.

So sitting here trying Tao get some decent wifi......we are on the 14 th floor at BLT and I have to camp out side my neighbors door while standing on my head to get a bit of signal......
Anyway, tomorrow we leave for LA.....it's been an awesome trip so far, the cruise was brill, the last few days at wdw have been awesome, although the weather is wet and humid.......I have a tan, and we just got an email to say we have been upgraded to business class on the way home, so collecting frequent flyer points and scheming helps big time......I was worried we would be over our baggage limit, but now I get to bring home 6 suitcases of 32 kg each...oh the humanity
Anyway, just checking in, have 1000's of photos/ food porn to share.....be home next tuesday so stay tuned.....

You're a doll to offer to get us into the NZ lounge but I think it would be a stretch for all 3 of us? Actually, my DH has now remembered that his Amex card gets us into one of the lounges in the Tom Bradley terminal so we might chill out in there before the flight. If we don't see you before hand I'll keep an eye out for the tanned, relaxed gal with the scary carryon as I make my way (jealously) through business class en route to the cattle section....

Hope you have fun for your last couple of days, it's pretty sad that the trip is coming to an end....

My DH got pulled over for speeding on the Interstate in New Mexico today so I'm just pleased we weren't deported on the spot!

Hello all, we arrived home from our 2 week DL trip yesterday morning. All up bright and early today after a really early bedtime yesterday! All good on the trip, we really liked Virgin Australia and would definitely fly them over Qantas again. Loved the Paradise Pier and would stay there again over DL hotel or Grand Californian. Only downers were the weather - very hot (early to mid 30's, I hate hot weather!) and quite humid for California, plus bigger crowds than expected (I think lots of people have delayed their summer trips until now, due to Carsland and wanting to beat the crowds then). Will do my TR eventually, too much unpacking and washing to do first - back to reality!

We are flying Virgin and staying at PPH concierge level. After loving GCH on our last trip I'm glad to hear you really loved PPH. Looking forward to hearing about your holiday.

Hope you are having a great time, and I can totally understand how easy it is to speed over here, the DH was quite happy sitting on 115 all the way to port canaveral from Orlando.....which was great in the suv going there, not so good in the hyundi clown car coming back ( yep, another clown car story)

We pick up a car today to do Columbus day shopping at Macy's and then see LA galaxy soccer game in Carson, so exciting day planed.

Woke up at 11 last nit with hotel smoke detector beeping flat battery, DH had in ear plugs, didn't hear a thing, so off I toddle down to front desk.....

Looking forward tO our flight home, have had to arrange for my dad to pick us up in my sons fair lane, as our bags just won't all fit in his clown car....

Andona, will see you on the plane, we are 6 j, 6 k.....so come say hi.....you can tell my DH , he'll be the one pushing everyone out of the way to board early...elbows out ladies

Off to shower and prepare for shopping marathon.....wish me luck
