*** New Official February 2013 Thread ***

Jannel - can I get added to the group? We are going with daughter's 4th grade class during Mardi Gras as part of the Disney Y. E. S. Program :cool1: - dates are 2/9 - 2/16. We are staying at All-Star Movies, I believe. We haven't had our officially meeting, that happens next week.

I will pm you with my fb info...so very excited about this trip. Been several years since we've been back and have never done the Y. E. S. program.

No worries, when you are at the restaurants you tell them if you're using the Dining plan--generally at the beginning of the meal, so they ring it up correctly in their system. I believe that if you have a dining plan then you don't need to secure reservations with a credit card (I know it keeps you from having to prepay at Cinderellas Royal Table, not sure about the credit card thing, however)
If you make reservations now without a dining plan you don't have to go back and change your reservations over to the dining plan later, or anything like that. They just want your credit card # to make sure you'll cancel unwanted reservations ahead of time (by the day before, I believe).

Thanks for the information. That works out perfectly then because we plan to finish making all of our ADR's in the next few days but aren't planning to get the meal plan until later.

I went ahead and got booked our airfare since SWA is having a super sale right now. I have a feeling that FD won't be offered until November and I don't want to lose this airfare.

Got you added! How fun for a class trip!! :)

Last year in February was an awesome trip weatherwise. Only rained our last day and that night got really chilly...great excuse to buy a couple of Disney jackets we decided. :upsidedow 143 days to go...to soon to start soft packing?

We are going with another family for Mardi Gras break 2/9 - 2/15. It'll be my family's 2nd trip in less than a year and the other family's first trip. Staying at villas at WL. It'll be my first time staying "off monorail" so I'm a bit nervous about us getting around with two 4 year olds and one 2 year old ...

It's never too soon to start packing! :thumbsup2

Good. I'm glad I'm not the only one doing that. My sister thinks I'm crazy!

I think of it as getting prepared. ;)

Last time we spent a small fortune on glow toys for my DD. This time I'm coming prepared. She's still young enough not to notice/care that it's not a "Disney" glow toy.

Thanks for the support! I'm already planning to head out this weekend to get my girls their new backpacks for the trip. And all the little things I would onlly use for Disney...hooks for shower curtain rod to hang bathing suits on, etc. I get giddy just checking in here and thinking of our trip!

Anyone doing the princess half? What kind of deal on lodging/park tix do you get? They don't tell you until after you register!!

If you have a Disney Visa Card they just posted some new specials. If you don't have one they become available to the public 10/10 :jumping1:

Not FD but seems to be more of a everyone eats at kid prices kinda thing. That and a room discount.

For us the 'Kids of all ages' offer will save us more money!

I'm new to this whole discount thing. I booked through AAA so I know I would have to go through them for applying any discounts - can I still do that? What if I already put everything on a credit card - so as far as Disney is concerned I'm paid in full? What if it wasn't our Chase Disney? (I did put our deposit on the Chase Disney and the rest on the other card.) Am I out of luck? :confused3

I'm not real sure but I would call who you booked with and see. This will be our first trip with a discount. So I'm not much help. It does say something about a payment on the Disney card.

I had almost the same question I got my visa after I put down my deposit. . . I am waiting on an email back form my TA I can't call her I am at work hopefully she will email me back ASAP

Finally a deal! Hoping to convince DH to go. I am impatiently waiting to hear back from my AAA TA. Usually I would be running over there but I can't take the kids because we would be surprising them at Christmas. :cheer2:

Got an email form my TA and sent her my Disney Visa info and she was able to apply the discount to our trip!!!!!!!! :cheer2:

I have a room only reservation and first heard of this around noon today when I was reading the January code watching thread. I booked with a TA (Disney specialist, not AAA) and she found that POFQ, my resort, had just a 5% discount. Most times they aren't even included in the discounts. She had to take a new deposit using my Disney Visa to modify our reservation. I had my choice of original deposit being refunded or just staying with our booking.

After lunch and thinking about things I did some checking on my own and learned that POR had 30% off with this promotion. I have sent my TA another e-mail to inquire about switching resorts to get a better deal.

Come and stay closer to your pals.

Be close to the heart of all the magic, from the Theme Parks and entertainment to exciting nightlife, shopping and more. Save up to 35% when you stay at a select Walt Disney World® Resort hotel for stays most nights 1/02—3/07/2013.
Savings for stays most nights 1/2—1/17/2013 and 1/21—3/7/2013 below:

Then I finally got my e-mail from Chase about 30 minutes ago and there is also a free dining plan offer. It gives QSDP for Value Resorts and DDP for Moderate and above. Of course, you must choose between discounts for whichever one is the best for your situation.

As stated by others, October 10 is the date the offers are open to the general public.

I just e-mailed my TA, too. Hopefully I'll hear some good news from her soon!
