Evening guys....

If it's not too much to ask, can I have some prayers sent out to a couple of people from work. One is a current co-worker, her Mom's not doing very well, been gone for the past week doing vigils at the hospital, and trying to care for dad at the same time.

Also ran into a former co-worker recently, waved me down from dropping the girls off at school, he was in the area having breakfast. He's battling cancer and been off work fir some time now. Lost a kidney apparently. I knew he had been off sick, but nobody really knew why, he's a very private person. I worked with him for over two years when I started out, and 8 months of midnight-shifts, plus almost another two years at my current store a few years back, golfed and drank with him often too. I didn't even recognize him how much he changed in appearance. They've both been on my mind alot lately. While I complain about a lot of people I work with,., these are two good souls.....

Prayers go out to your co-worker and friend...and all others struggling right now. We will keep them all in our thoughts.

Hey Dads! Good Afternoon!

It's DD birthday on Columbus Day and a company holiday, but now I have to #@$%^%$ work! :furious: Auditors managed to screw up enough stuff that will need to be in the office meeting to meet our filing extension date. Everythings has been done since late August. Why do they always wait until the last possible second. Venting over....Thanks.

Here's hoping for forgiveness. I guess Sunday will be spent making the princess feel like the queen (this is going to be expensive :faint:). Wish me luck.

Yeah thats how I did it too for the first year, 18-55 and 55-300. Then expanded 10-20mm, 30mm, 18-135mm, 55-300mm, but one thing to know is this can get addictive and stupid expensive. So love it but be careful loving it lol!

The workshop I attended last week had someone there at the beginner level like myself and they had already spent about $4k on lenses. He had a fish eye that he didn't eben know how to use. The fisrt one I would like to get is a good quality 50mm.

Yeah you can have a 1000$ lens but if you don't know how to use it you might as well be shooting with a point and shoot. Lol as for 50mm could do a sigma 50mm they are just as good as a Nikon official lens. I have a sigma and love it! Tell that student to give me the lens and I'll use it til they know how to!

I have a Canon T3, does Sigma make lenses for those?

Love photography and think I have a good eye but am limited because most of my photos are under the sea. Not only do you need the camera but then add a housing which is usually more expensive than the camera.

I hear what you are saying David. I dive with guys that spend mega $$$ on equipment. Some are great photographers, some just take a massive amount of pictures and end up with 1 or 2 that are good. Currently have a Cannon G12 "point and shoot" but has full manual mode. It is affordable and works nicely underwater but has limitations on land.

Usually I don't edit pictures but did take a trial subscription to Lightroom and have played with it. It can do a lot to enhance my pictures and cover any flaws in the shot.

Yes. Yes they do. You're looking for an EF or EF-S lens. The big difference is if they fit on both kinds of Canon cameras (Full-frame and crop sensor - yours is the latter of the two). Most of what you find will be available in EF as that works on both versions of the Canon cameras. If you are buying a lens, try for the EF lens as it will work on a full-frame camera if you ever win the lottery and want to buy a 5D3 or a 1DX.

Yeah what Rental01 says. But I am a Nikon man.

Evening guys! Just getting in from our trip, had a blast. I am too lazy to pull together a trip report, but I'll try to post more about the trip tomorrow from work.

Hope everyone is doing well. :thumbsup2

Glad you made it back safely. 3 more days for me.

I hear ya too...we have swimming lessons Mondays, off Tuesdays, Amelia Brownies Wednesday, Church Band practice Thursdays, Fridays off. I work 2/3 Saturdays too. When I work nights, I try to pre-make the dinners so they can grab and go. Will get worse when Audrey starts getting into things too, still, we have it light compared to alot of you guys.

Both mine did swim lessons, and oldest was on the swim team for a year. She did not like competing, but she became a super strong swimmer.

On the up side, Lovie is now 8-2 on Monday Night and Romo has applied for a new job as "Turnover Specialist". All in all, GO BEARS!

I have to admit though I punted on Fantasy this week. Benched Colston and Witten in favor of Holmes and Gates. Hopefully I can climb back into contention next week.

Good to hear about your fantasy team. I heard Romo threw an interception on the plane ride home.

We were actually on the same side here, nemesis. Thanks for taking care of the Cowboys.:thumbsup2

Fortunately, I can count on the Eagles to choke yet again. Although, a loss in the Superbowl would be better than 4 losses in Championship games.

Anyone see the Seas movie? That is S. Florida. The deluge. It rained and rained and rained.... So much for the Sunshine State.

I'm not in the mood to hear you cry about Florida weather.

Here's hoping for forgiveness. I guess Sunday will be spent making the princess feel like the queen (this is going to be expensive :faint:). Wish me luck.

What do you have planned? DW insists on having a birthday party on the weekend and then something else on their actual birthday. I always ask why they get two birthday parties. Just more money from the money tree.

Drats! I KNEW I should have texted you on Sunday. We were at BG from about 2 to 6. How long were you there? You plan on going for Christmas Town?

I've seen that sign! They have some interesting ones in there :lmao: DD loves to hit the gem sluce at the shop around the corner from there. She found some emeralds and rubies this time. :thumbsup2
.

We were at BG from 11am - 10pm sat, left hotel to head home around 9am Sun,with a WDW trip around the corner I doubt we will be going to Christmas Town, but we do have enough points banked for at least 4 hotel nights, so you never know:confused3:scratchin
Did you go see the show Fiends, I don't know why but that was my favorite:rotfl2:

Also Dig It Up was pretty cool:thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 Glad you liked it. I just spoke to the rest of VA and we are currently accepting applications from New Jersey. I never want to move.

I have a uncle that lives in Fairfax, and my wife has a cousin that lives in Newport News, I like the Williamsburg area, I want to start a business there, can't really say what it is but it has to do with food, I think I have a good shot at becoming rich, since there is nothing in the area to compare:cool1:

...

You got it. Prayers for both.

Morning guys! Got a run in yesterday afternoon at the Y, going back again today. Things are getting busy around the house, both DD's are taking Dance, the oldest taking it 2 nights a week, the youngest once. So, as I was jogging I was thinking about our weekly schedule. Dance Monday, open Tuesday, afterschool program Wednesday, Dance Thursday and Friday. :scared:

Yup. Theatre class Monday, swimming lessons on Tuesday, off Wednesday, soccer practice Thursday, off Friday, soccer games on Saturday and sometimes Sunday. Most days I don't even get out to run until 8pm or so.
Can't wait to see what life will be like once the little DS grows up and wants to do stuff....

Monday - Dance
Tuesday - Choir; Dance; Cross Country
Wednesday - Dance
Thursday - Cross Country; Soccer
Friday - MY ONLY FREE DAY
Saturday - Soccer
Sunday - Religious Ed; Soccer

Thankfully, once cross country and soccer end, Nutcracker Dance Performance rehearsals and basketball practice and games take their place. Oh, Money tree.....

It sure feels that way, we usually do dinner and a few presents on DDs bday, been lucky that party's before we're just family but with DD in daycare I'm pretty sure she's going to want a big girl party at a bouncy place so that may cost me, DDs birthday is so close to Christmas and I don't want her to feel like they are combined cuz they never have before so Christmas time is always a little more costly

Well we had some for the game, unfortunately that was the only good thing. Had a 2-0 lead but lost 3-2. Another game on Thursday against the strongest middle school in the district.

Tough break. Good luck on Thursday.

That's great news, I was afraid it might rain at the party and my makeup would run- add that to the list of things I never thought I'd say

Never thought I would hear anyone say that. Definitely sure I don't want to see that.

Currently settling down and watching the the FIRST Star Wars movie on Spike TV. Not the 4th one according to Lucas. Wish I wasn't still working on the surround sound system and really enjoy it.

Really? More CJ complaints? C'mon man!

I was in VA yesterday and I want to move there, anything is a improvement from NJ:confused3:rotfl2:

Then don't relocate to KY. Nothing but allergies and sweat here. Well, the bourbon does help you forget about how bad it is.

I was premature in my declarations - the Yahoo league ends on Wednesday, so things might change, although I doubt it. Most leagues end on a Sunday when the week ends.

I was wondering if I had read that right. Still, enjoyed it nonetheless. I usually only follow my NL Central teams - Reds and Cardinals - so this added a bit more to my baseball season.

Omg. The nightmare before Xmas haunted mansion in DL is so great that the one in MK must be great. We have lots of jack pics to share with you

The Haunted Mansion in WDW during the MNSSHP includes the ghost lady who sits by the entrance, interacts with people, and tells bad jokes. I have a picture of her in one of my trip reports.

My oldests is two weeks after Christmas, so we still do the party thing for the same reason. Actually, it is my youngest one who has a birthday in June that was upset, because most of her friends ended up being on vacation, and only a few of them and family showed up at the birthday party. This year, we did a party on the softball field right after one of their games, so all her team was there. She thought that was the best party ever, and it only cost me money for cupcakes for the team.

I am counting down the days. We leave Friday as soon as the dds get home from school. With no major traffic problems, we should arrive at WDW around 5:00 AM Saturday morning.

In the mail today, I received a notice for jury duty. I had that initial panic that it would be for next week, but it is for the 25th of October. I can't imagine anyone stupid enough to pick me as a juror, but I'm sure crazier things have happened. :crazy2:

My friend was telling me about a ham today, I think he said it was called Cure 81, anyone ever hear of it:confused3
