OMG! Minimum of 100 shares now required to join Shareholder's Club or to renew!!!!!

Well I sent the renewal form yesterday and have had the letter posted from Halifax this morning but i haven't got a fax at home.

My mum's got a scanner i think so i'll give that a go later and email the proof through. It's go to be worth a go (hopeful)!

Probably left too late now....but used the online application a couple of days ago to get a 2nd card. Received email confirmation validating account, and advising to send application form off with proof of share ownership.

However, there was no copy of the application form attached, and I haven't received anything via another email....anyone know how it's supposed to work?

I can't remember :confused3

Thanks

Mark. I did the renewal form yesterday. There was an option after filling it in and sending it to view the form then print it....
Can you try to do it again?

I joined the club this year, so I have one year and a half before I have to renew. If the shares will drop to a low level again (I bought my 20 at 3,5€) I'll buy the remaining 80 to renew the membership.
Otherwise, I'll see if the higher cost to join will lead to a lower number of members and maybe an increased number of advantages for members. For example, if they make the VIP fastpass a permanent perk, I'm sure I would buy the shares also at today prices.

I've just noticed on the Shareholders website that it's been changed from 5 visits per month to Salon Mickey to 4 visits per month ....

Hmm. I guess this is because of the restructuring, or possibly just because word had got round and too many people were getting too good a deal under the existing rules?

We joined this summer and saved more than the cost of the shares in one trip. I think we'll hang on to them until the membership expires just in case we go again (and the Disney Store discount may be useful). Never went in Salon Mickey though :sad1:

£400 or so is a lot to keep invested long term in shares that never pay a dividend, just for the shareholders club perks.

I guess for a one-off trip the option is there to buy shares and join the club, then sell them immediately afterwards, hoping the price hasn't dived. That's a fair amount of hassle though, plus you would have to pay brokers fees each time. As has been said above the AP perks may be more worthwhile.

I don't have my Halifax log in details to hand, but can someone please tell me the current price for 1 share? Thanks x

Hi

I sent an email with everything last Friday or Saturday but not heard anything back.

Anyone else heard

:scratchin

I just got an email confirming my renewal. I had emailed and faxed them stuff last Friday. I assume they will have had a lot of renewal requests!
Hope you get yours soon.

Oh dear...my other half just got a rejection email from the Shareholders Club. They rejected her as, they say she did not hold enough shares. She holds 20 shares.

Her renewal was dated, emailed and faxed on September 30th, and therefore technically before the new general conditions/rules came into affect.

I've (on her behalf) sent them a reply outlining this and requested that they reconsider.

However, this would suggest that despite the new conditions only coming into affect from October 1st, it seems you actually had to have your application with them by close of business on Friday 28th September maybe.....

my renewal came today!! i was gettin worried - but its come.... hurry up card then i can stop twitchin lol

Glad your renewal came through scampbunny, but sorry to hear that your OH's didn't Iain.

Yeah....scampbunny, I was just thinking the same thing. Technically other halfs renewal wasn't "available" until October 1st - so it's not surprising they have rejected it. :rolleyes1

I'd forgotten that when I saw the rejection.

Ah well...gives them something to think about!.
