Emmysdaddy Accompanies the Damsels & Yes, He Posed with Princesses 2/2 Completed

Oh, what a beautiful morning!

Fantastic update, and once again, amazing photos!!!

I'm glad you enjoyed your breakfast at Captain's Grille. I have had dinner there, but never breakfast. Did you know that when you order the buffet, you can ask your waitperson for eggs cooked any style, including an omlette and the chef will prepare it for you?

And you have the best, most comprehensive photos of the buffet I have seen. I have one link over on the BC/YC forum, but may I also link to your review in the Dining Section on that thread? Pretty please???

Great pictures with the Main Street citizens. Too funny about the frisky Mayor!

:rotfl2: about your Princess comment.

Looking forward to the Sci Fi and some HS time.

Tuesday August 21, 2012: Day 4 – Part 1

Does the Mayor say to all red heads "My first girlfriend was a red-head so I'm partial to them." :confused3

Probably! :rotfl2:

Tuesday August 21, 2012: Day 4 – Part 1

We were headed to Haunted Mansion for some fun with Master Gracey and some of the other departed souls! Inserting a short outburst here… WHEN THEY TELL YOU THAT THE DEPARTED SOULS DO NOT LIKE FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY… KEEP YOUR CAMERA FLASHES OFF FOR PETE SAKE! Hmph! That is obviously one of the things that totally annoy me.

You hit on one of my pet peeves too. I think a lot of people literally do not KNOW how to turn the flash off. Ugh!

I also wish that Disney would make the distinction very clear between Flash and Non-flash photography. If I hear no FLASH photography then I will take non-flash pictures. And if I hear no Photography then I don't take any. But sometimes I think the CM's mean no photography when they say no Flash photography. Keep it consistent.

Anyway - can't even see your pics right now, but will be back to look at them later.

Thank you! She is 4 1/2 now and still in love with Prince Charming (though she denies it, she blushes when I mention his name) :)
Thanks for sharing your magic pixie dust infused moment!

So cute! :upsidedow

Awe… YAY Magic Kingdom! I cannot wait!!!!!! :dance3:

I HATE when I forget to change the camera from video to auto or vice-versa! I do it all the time!

Yeah, I've missed a few great photos by not being prepared witht the camera in the proper mode. :p

I know you are enjoying the anticipation of the trip while dealing with other emotions right now... wishing it was different in so many ways. :goodvibes

Hahah those mayor pics of him kissing you are funny!!! I would have been a little disturbed too!!

Ugh! He simmered down this trip. :)

Good morning Dee! Absolutely, please feel free to use any of the photos or link to my review. I don't even require a signed release! :rotfl2:

You make a good point MK that I may have overlooked in my rush to judgement! If they don't know how to turn off the flash you would think after the first photo they would put it away... but also, if there is a language barrier and they don't understand, I have to give them a break on that as well. I may still be annoyed but what can you do?

It's a bit of a roller coaster that is for sure! :yo-yo: But focusing on my girls and our future gets me through just about anything.

Brenda, it would be impossible for me to catch up on all your updates (I'm having a hard enough time catching up on all my threads), but I did skim all of the updates, and I am loving each and every one of them. Love the photos of you and Em with the characters on Main Street.

Agreed with you about flash pictures on HM. POTC is another ride where I find it especially annoying, since the sets on both rides are so dark and the flash can be really painful and distracting.

Another wonderful update Brenda :goodvibes

Those pictures of you and the Mayor still make me chuckle

If you can't be a princess how about becoming the Mayoress ;)

Kathy - no worrie. I think you have a full plate right now. :) I put so may photos in my updates that they basically tell the story of our day! :upsidedow

I had a comment about a POTC flash photography experience but erased it because I don't want to appear to be too crochety (sp?)! I told a teenager sitting right behind me and searing my retinas to please allow guests the opportunity to enjoy the ride and turn the flash off. Ok, I probably said, "I'm telling on you if you don't turn that off." :p

Ha ha, NO! Michael still wonders what goes on at WDW when he's not there! :rotfl2:

Only 3+ weeks!! Where's my banana dude when I want him? You get this guy instead, I hope he is just as excited looking: :dancer:

Tuesday August 21, 2012 - Day 4 Part 2

Em and I had been at MK hanging with the Citizens of Main Street and the Mayor...but it was time to move on.

Our plan was to meet Michael at DHS since we had a lunch ADR coming up. We took the monorail to the TTC and then took a bus to DHS. Before entering the park we had our photo taken by the “magic brooms” and topiary Mickey.

We met up with Michael at the entrance and after saying hello to my favorite Coca-Cola man we were on our way.

And of course our 29th photo on Hollywood Blvd.
DSC02900.jpg

We didn't have time for rides before lunch so we pretty much tried to avoid the searing heat of the day by hanging out in the stores.

Insert Sci-Fi review here If you are interested in reading about how we couldn't get the car-side speakers to work read along... just kidding, everyone knows that you can only hear the speakers if you turn the car radio on!! :rotfl2:

I was glad to see the Sci-Fi car back. Last time we ate here the car had been car-jacked.

Here's a short video clip from Sci-Fi.

Following lunch, our bellies were full and we were ready for some rides and attractions. Let’s see if by any chance Toy Story Mania has a stand-by wait of less than an hour in the middle of the day…. It was 90 minutes – PASS. We typically don’t put much effort into TSM at DHS since we can do that attraction at Disney’s California Adventure with a stand-by line typically no longer than 30 minutes.

Michael noticed Walt Disney One Man’s Dream next door and wanted to check it out. Certainly! I love the history and nostalgia attached to this attraction. I don’t think I have seen or read through all of the displays and memorabilia plus it looks like they had added some scaled models of the new Fantasyland so that was intriguing. We watched the presentation in the theater and as always I get a little teary eyed in awe of what the imagination of this man created.

I think Michael was happier than the photo shows....

Moving on from there we headed towards Sunset Blvd. and I have no idea how this happened but we found ourselves standing in front of the display cases for the cupcakes and goodies at Starring Rolls. Oh, look at that, a red-velvet cupcake!! I want one of those. I actually have a review of this baby on my DR here.

It had started to rain while we were seated at the table outside Starring Rolls. Good thing I had a rain poncho handy. We wanted to hit up a couple of our favorites before leaving the park. First we dropped by (ha ha!) Tower of Terror which was walk on right onto the elevator. It was funny to see our 3 different reactions in the ride photo. Michael was the goofy guy, Em was the annoyed teen, and I was going for the cutsie pose. What do you think? Does it work for us? (Photo added to Photopass+)

More DHS fun coming up....

I admit to using a flash on POTC in DL. Okay... it was in the Bayou at the beginning and I quickly turned it off!! I didn't realize I had it on and after one photo it was off!! I also hate flashes on rides! It detracts from others enjoyment in the ride!! I apologize to anyone who may have been with me when my flash went off on POTC!

I'm so glad you went to Sci Fi with Michael. I think it is a guy thing. The restaurant is ok for me, but my boys insist on a visit on our HS day.

Your comment about the $15 burger cracked me up. And Sci Fi is one of the more reasonably priced restaurants! The cucumber salad looks different from what I got in 2010. I just looked at my picture and there were black beans and red onion in it.

I really wanted to try the Red Velvet Cupcake when I went to Starring Rolls. But I don't like cupcakes all that much. So I tried to order one, but my mouth said "Fruit Tart" instead, and I'm not sorry. But thanks for the very detailed review. I may change my mind in the future and try again. BTW- the link to the cupcake review did not work for me.

Then I went to DDW's dining review, and was intrigued by the pineapple coconut cupcake at Sunshine Seasons, until he didn't really love it. That one is not edging out the Strawberry Shortcake there.

I have not been through One Man's Dream yet! That is so wrong. I always feel guilty walking by it on my way to the most popular attraction in the park- I duck my head in shame and continue on to TSM. Someday!

Love your ToT photo. Your group is great, and some of the others in the ride photo are pretty funny, too!

Ugh, camera flashes on rides are THE WORST. Seriously, one time on Peter Pan, I couldn't imagine why I had forgotten that the entire ride takes place during a lightening storm...oh wait. Sigh.

Glad to hear your Sci-Fi lunch was good! (So you know, your link to your cupcake review seems to go to a picture of the cupcake instead.)

Ha! Just see that it doesn't happen again young lady! Actually, an oops I can totally understand - done it myself for sure! ;)

Thanks Dee. Don't feel guilty about choosing TSM over One Man's Dream - I can completely understand given the two options. And you get to wear the cool 3D glasses with TSM!

Oops! For the cupcake I inserted a photo image instead of a hyperlink... was picture crazy for a moment there. Thanks for letting me know.

Thank you for the pics on Walt's life. It has been a long time since I visited a One Man's Dream. Now that my girls older, I think they would enjoy it on our next trip.

My fav cupcake is Red Velvet and now I have a must do stop thanks to your review and great pics. :cool1: With a great cup of coffee this would be a great afternoon treat!

Funny thing but I will wait longer for ToT versus TSM! If I didn't have the photopass+ I wouldn't have had so many ride photos added. But it was fun to have then added and even if they were not the greatest family portraits id helped to document our trip!

Hi alwayspooh! Thank you for joining and reading! :) There are so many delicious cupcakes at Starring Rolls and Sweet Spells; however, the red velvet cupcake was among the best!
