Bags to gate check booster seats?

Hi everyone, we want to bring our booster seats along on an upcoming trip to avoid renting them from our rental car company. However, everything I find online is for a full size carseat.

Has anyone had any luck either 1) with putting two boosters in one of those bags or ) buying a bag made for boosters?

Last time we flew, we put our boosters in heavy duty garbage bags and checked them with our luggage (no fee for the boosters). The airline put each bag into one of those large plastic boxes they use, before putting it on the belt, so they had that added protection.

That is what we used to do , just used big plastic bags. Mostly to keep them from getting wet.

Just so y'all know, if the airline sends the booster seats down in a "large plastic box", that tub does NOT go on the plane. It's just an easier way to send an awkwardly-shaped item down the conveyor system. That car seat has ABSOLUTELY no protection on the plane.

Hi! I'm just starting to come out of lurkdom... I chat on a car seat board on Facebook & asked about boosters as well. One of the suggestions given to me was look into the bubble bum inflatable & portable seat. Not sure if you are interested in spending the money etc. hope this suggestion helps :)
