Orlando Hotel night before cruise

Can anyone recommend a hotel to stay the night before our cruise. Just a clean hotel with possible shuttle to the port the next morning. Maybe staying in Port Canaveral would be a better idea. What are the pros and cons of Orlando vs. Cape Caneveral hotels?

We always stay at Sheraton at Coco Beach. The reason we stay here is that each year I sign up for the American Express Starwood card. Just the sign up bonus alone is enough to pay for multiple nights at this hotel. We pick up the shuttle at a nearby hotel or rental car agency. You can also use starwood points to stay at the swan or dolphin hotel at Disney but we like to be closer to the Port on the morning of cruise.

As far as I know, there are no hotels in Orlando, or close to the airport, which have a free shuttle to the port (it's almost an hour away). I have read that there are a couple of places near the airport where you can reserve a paid shuttle to the port, but I can't recall which ones. We've stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn near the airport a couple of times and it was very comfortable. They have a free shuttle to/from the airport, so you could stay there, take the shuttle back to the airport and take DCL transfers to the port. Lately, we've gotten a rental car, drove to the port area and stayed at Residence Inn.
