The Frumps Have Hit the Wall... And No One's Mad. "FART SHOES." UPDATE 1/20

We went to Epcot on Monday and I kept joking to my husband that we had to be sure to ride Maelstrom as it is the best ride in all of WDW. Then we had to pass it up because we weren't done with our margaritas...so sad.

I also made a deer face going on Spaceship Earth. It was so funny when the video of my future started...I was cracking up. You guys should try it. (Assuming you haven't.)

Why oh why am I not on the Maelstrom RIGHT NOW? :sad2:

Holy cow, yall really did eat a TON that day! Lord.

Kristen, that picture with all the school breads cracked me up!

Trip reporting is such serious business that you must take notes WHILST relaxing in the hot tub. It's a well known fact. :cool2:

Finally!! I have been waiting for an update on this one for a while ;) I know you both are busy with school so Thank You! (Jess, how did auditions go?)

I love Norway and the Maelstrom. "You are not the first to pass this vay" <3

All that school bread looks so yummy.

Those tiaras are so cute, I might pick one up in January.

luvin the updates... I'm coming to my school bread update soon... :goodvibes

School bread!!!! How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.... :lovestruc

Very pretty photos of Saratoga Springs...we're considering that for our home DVC resort. It seems like such a peaceful, relaxing, resort...like it would be very nice to come home to at the end of a busy day of "Disneying". And the view of DTD is gorgeous!!

Great update!!

Diane ::MinnieMo

Oh dear. You go on vacation for two weeks and then have a few other things happen and it is virtually IMPOSSIBLE to get caught up on the DIS. This comment will likely be very long, and cover everything from the birth of man to the zombie apocalypse....

I am also always in the mood for WPE. At there four times in one trip once. And every meal was better than the last. ;)

Their mac and cheese is seriously the best. However, way back in the day (at the dawn of time), it was different. Seriously, the cheese was like bright orange. Who knows what the deal was with that. Tasted amazing though.

I have to get the four cheese pesto pizza next time. Pesto is amahzing!

Dangit. I thought you were talking about the 90's grunge band. My bad. :rolleyes1

Nice going freaking out the CM for the dancing people pin. I would expect no less from you guys. ;)

I am impressed by that selection of pillow pets. I think one is going to have to come home with me in November....

OMG those quote pillows! AHHHHHHHH!!!!

You guys look so cute in your hot pink matching Minnie tanks.

Crystal Palace breakfast is pretty excellent. And you're right, the sole reason to go there is for the puffed french toast.

Peter Pan has always been my Mom's favorite ride, so it holds a very special place in my heart. You can't go wrong riding that.

Double Dumbo. Say that three times fast. Double Dumbo, Double Dumbo, Double Dumbo. :rotfl2:

I can't wait to take my nephew Joaquin to the new Dumbo, if only to see him try to get the peanut out of the ground. Because you know he will try.

Who doesn't love Bean Bunny?

Haunted Mansion....ring....garbage can.....check.

Doin' the creep on Mary Poppins. Excellent.

Wow, who knew that frump could potentially be offensive. Good thing that it worked out in the end.

Nutella is my favorite food of life. I've been eating it since I was a wee one, because in Belgium (where my mom is from) it flows freely. No joke, like at restaurants, they have it in containers like JAM!! Like little jam Nutella packets.

I love that the Orange Bird is represented again at Sunshine Tree Terrace. Somewhere in my house I have an original orange bird orange cup. Like, the cup shaped like an orange.

Good thing you got back together with your puppet pals. I would have been worried if you didn't.

Norman Jr.! You guys have to take him home....

Remember, you may get wet on the Maelstrom....and potentially get accosted by a troll.

Wow, mega talented, trip journaling while sitting in the hot tub.

you guys remind me so much of me n my bestie from when I was younger only we called ourselves the navigators because we were phenominal at getting ourselves out of sooo many crazy situations, that being said we were just like you,we made our own words and had a blast, the more I read your Tr the more it reminds me of the good days lol I'm really not THAt old :D

YESSSSSSSSSS THE FRUMP TRIP REPORT IS BACK ON.

Next we headed to Karamell Kuche, because we just ate, so it seemed logical to eat again.

Yeah, this is my general mindset while in Disney. In the outside world, I'm all "come on Lia, you don't need that snack..." and at Disney, as soon as my stomach starts to feel less full it's like I have this instant "Must eat more" mechanism in my body that goes off.

AWWWYEAAAAH Maelstrom!!!! Thank God you were able to get on it! Last time, I was barely even able to walk into the surrounding area due to insane guest demand for this attraction.

THREE School Breads? Sounds like you had a School Bread-athon. I'm sure no one was mad.

OMG I am so sleepy right now and I just want to dive into a pile of those pillow pets. WANT.

HAHAHA That serious business photo of Jess journaling while hot tubbing is too funny. Oh I love you guys.

Kristen your school bread faces are beyond amazing!!!
Geez so much eating that day. Ahhh I love the bottomless Disney stomach!

School bread + Illuminations = heaven

Post park swims are the best, so gooood! So relaxing!

I'm not going to lie, trip journalling in the water is quite impressive!!

I am just drooling over the Karamell Kuche pictures! I think I've just picked out 3 or 8 things I really need to try.:goodvibes

What does school bread taste similar too? Is it filled with the custard?

I would love to go to the Saratoga pool ( at night! ). It does seem extra nice with the DTD view!!

Hey ladies!

I came across this TR today and I'm hooked! I can't wait to get caught up and follow along!

The long-distance relationship thing is totally worth it! My husband and I met when I was 20 and he was 22. 4 months after we started dating, he was sent to Korea for a year :scared1:

We survived it and I'm sure you will too! All you need is faith, trust and love!

We have been married for almost 11 years now and have 2 amazing kids! In fact, we are about to take our first trip to Disney without the kids!!!

(And he DOES look just like Corey Matthews! I watch Boy meets World almost every morning when the kids are getting ready for school) :dance3:

Trip journaling IS really serious business! Just a little part of me regrets not doing it during my Disneymoon but thank goodness for pictures!

I am seriously impressed with how many different treats you were able to put away in one day. That was quite a sacrifice on your part...the vacation gods would have been disappointed in you otherwise. ;)

The caramel shop is one of my new favorite places in life. I want to buy just about everything in the case. I'm not a big chocolate fan, but if it's smothered in caramel...well, exceptions just have to be made sometimes.

Don't even get me started on the desserts in Norway. School Bread. Good choice. :thumbsup2

YAY, AN UPDATE!!!!

I could really go for some caramel right now! I agree, it would be so fabulous to just be able to swim in that stuff. That is probably what it's like in heaven.

You guys are brave to fight the lines for Maelstrom! But it's not to be missed, so I understand! At least you got rewarded with schoolbread at the end. LUCKY! I still have never tried that stuff and I have no idea why. Don't worry, I'll be changing that in February! ;)

Your hot tub time sounds so relaxing. I love hot tubs. I bet they are even better while in the most perfect place on Earth!

Haha sorry they aren't more often! School literally eats up all of my time. I was going to do one tonight but I realized that I forgot to bring my TR journal to college with me. :headache: I'll have to go home soon and get it.

I could too! YUM.

Haha oh thanks. You definitely need to!

It was. Seriously, I think the fact that I went in the hot tub made it so much easier to stay on my feet longer the next day. Disney hot tubs are my favorite!

I would love one of those replicas of Cinderella’s Castle. Actually, make that two.

These food pictures from Karamell Kuche are KILLING me.

School bread AND Illuminations. That is awesome.

I LOVE the necklace you got Jess!

Haha me too!

I KNOW.

Solid night, I must say.

Thank you! I love it too. I wear it all the time!

That's a total ringer for a new sign to put on a door! Maybe you guys could make one and Jess could put it on her dorm door!

Haha I seriously should.

Excellent update! Journaling by the pool is hilarious!

LOL Thank you!

Awww I'm sad you had to miss out! You MUST go back just so you can ride it!

Hahaha oh we have done that before! I'm very proud that you did that!

:cool2:

I KNOW, GIRL. I know.

Hahaha seriously, now you know why we hit a wall.

Bahaha she's a frump.

It makes the process even more enjoyable!

Finally!! I have been waiting for an update on this one for a while ;) I know you both are busy with school so Thank You! (Jess, how did auditions go?)

I love Norway and the Maelstrom. "You are not the first to pass this vay" <3

All that school bread looks so yummy.

Aww I'm sorry they aren't more frequent! I will try and do another one as soon as possible... it's just so hard with school! And I posted on my other TR about auditions, I'm assuming you saw them by now. They went well but I didn't get cast this semester... which I'm really not mad about because my schoolwork load is through the roof. :p

Gahh I love it too. It literally is one of my favorite rides lol.

YUMMAY.

I know, I kinda want to get one in October!

Thanks for reading!

luvin the updates... I'm coming to my school bread update soon... :goodvibes

Thank you!

Diane ::MinnieMo

Yum school bread!

I do like Saratoga Springs... however, I would recommend not getting it as your home resort. Only because it's one of the DVC resorts that is ALWAYS available. When you make a resort your home resort, you have the option of booking a room a few months before anyone else who doesn't have it as their home. So picking a more "rare" home base could benefit you.

Needless to stay, you could still stay at Saratoga every time if you wanted to! But having a different home would give you a few more options. That's just what I would do!

Thank you so much!

Oh dear. You go on vacation for two weeks and then have a few other things happen and it is virtually IMPOSSIBLE to get caught up on the DIS. This comment will likely be very long, and cover everything from the birth of man to the zombie apocalypse....

Haha lucky you! I hope you had a great time! And okay I'm ready.

I am also always in the mood for WPE. At there four times in one trip once. And every meal was better than the last. ;)

I am so proud. GOD, I WANT THAT MAC AND CHEESE.

Their mac and cheese is seriously the best. However, way back in the day (at the dawn of time), it was different. Seriously, the cheese was like bright orange. Who knows what the deal was with that. Tasted amazing though.

Was it better than the current version?

I have to get the four cheese pesto pizza next time. Pesto is amahzing!

Yeah that is such a winner.

Dangit. I thought you were talking about the 90's grunge band. My bad. :rolleyes1

Nice going freaking out the CM for the dancing people pin. I would expect no less from you guys. ;)

Frump life.

I am impressed by that selection of pillow pets. I think one is going to have to come home with me in November....

OMG those quote pillows! AHHHHHHHH!!!!

SO MUCH GREAT MERCHANDISE.

You guys look so cute in your hot pink matching Minnie tanks.

Thanks! They're from Target!

Crystal Palace breakfast is pretty excellent. And you're right, the sole reason to go there is for the puffed french toast.

Literally. It makes the whole breakfast.

Peter Pan has always been my Mom's favorite ride, so it holds a very special place in my heart. You can't go wrong riding that.

I know, it is such a special ride!

Double Dumbo. Say that three times fast. Double Dumbo, Double Dumbo, Double Dumbo. :rotfl2:

I know! I would have been so disappointed.

Nutella is my favorite food of life. I've been eating it since I was a wee one, because in Belgium (where my mom is from) it flows freely. No joke, like at restaurants, they have it in containers like JAM!! Like little jam Nutella packets.

Ahh I would love Belgium. That is AWESOME. America, seriously, catch up on the trend!

I love that the Orange Bird is represented again at Sunshine Tree Terrace. Somewhere in my house I have an original orange bird orange cup. Like, the cup shaped like an orange.

Me too! I need to try a citrus swirl!!

Good thing you got back together with your puppet pals. I would have been worried if you didn't.

Norman Jr.! You guys have to take him home....

Kristen did in July! I want to get him next time I go!

Remember, you may get wet on the Maelstrom....and potentially get accosted by a troll.

Wow, mega talented, trip journaling while sitting in the hot tub.

Haha why thank you!

you guys remind me so much of me n my bestie from when I was younger only we called ourselves the navigators because we were phenominal at getting ourselves out of sooo many crazy situations, that being said we were just like you,we made our own words and had a blast, the more I read your Tr the more it reminds me of the good days lol I'm really not THAt old :D

Aww that's cute haha. I'm glad that you enjoy the report!

YESSSSSSSSSS THE FRUMP TRIP REPORT IS BACK ON.

Hahaha don't worry, it will never be off! It is just going to take forever to write because of stupid school. :headache:

Yeah, this is my general mindset while in Disney. In the outside world, I'm all "come on Lia, you don't need that snack..." and at Disney, as soon as my stomach starts to feel less full it's like I have this instant "Must eat more" mechanism in my body that goes off.

SERIOUSLY. I was just thinking... if I ate like that every day I would be SO fat. :rotfl:

AWWWYEAAAAH Maelstrom!!!! Thank God you were able to get on it! Last time, I was barely even able to walk into the surrounding area due to insane guest demand for this attraction.

I know, it's basically impossible to get on there! Must have been an off day. ;)

THREE School Breads? Sounds like you had a School Bread-athon. I'm sure no one was mad.

Bahaha I don't even think I had enough room to eat one. Sick, right?

OMG I am so sleepy right now and I just want to dive into a pile of those pillow pets. WANT.

ME TOO.

HAHAHA That serious business photo of Jess journaling while hot tubbing is too funny. Oh I love you guys.

Bahaha my life is Disney trip reporting. No one's mad.

Kristen your school bread faces are beyond amazing!!!

She is very expressive when it comes to school bread.

I KNOW. I have no idea how we did that.

It was a beautiful day.

They really are!

Haha why thank you.

I am just drooling over the Karamell Kuche pictures! I think I've just picked out 3 or 8 things I really need to try.:goodvibes

What does school bread taste similar too? Is it filled with the custard?

YUM seriously. I haven't tried half of the things I need to yet!

Hmm it's really hard to describe. It's like a sweet bread. And yes it is filled with the custard! You just have to try it!

I would love to go to the Saratoga pool ( at night! ). It does seem extra nice with the DTD view!!

It's really pretty!

Welcome, welcome! I'm glad you're here!

Aww that's adorable! I'm glad you guys made it and have a wonderful family now! I give you major props for the long distance! It's so hard.

Hahaha I'm so glad you agree. If you saw him talk... he IS Cory. It's crazy how similar they are.

Trip journaling IS really serious business! Just a little part of me regrets not doing it during my Disneymoon but thank goodness for pictures!

Aww I know.. that's okay though! Pictures are the next best thing!

I am seriously impressed with how many different treats you were able to put away in one day. That was quite a sacrifice on your part...the vacation gods would have been disappointed in you otherwise. ;)

I know. I can't even believe it. Way to go, frumps!

IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL. I do too. Yum yum yum. Good thing you're willing to make that sacrifice!

Oh God, I know. I want. All the time.

Wow you guys certainly did manage to eat your way through WS, I'm impressed! Baha, it's something I'd love to do, was going to do F&W this Nov, but I just don't have the money to go back so soon :(

I think I'm going to have to try the School Bread again, I don't know if I just got a stale one, or what, but it didn't impress me too much the first time I had it. :confused3

I definitely have to agree that nom and nom'd are words! Ha, use them all the time!!

Yes you will! I'm sorry you didn't love it :( That's so sad!

They TOTALLY are! I'm glad you agree! :goodvibes

Update #11: A Mother's Day Morning at Epcot (Part 1)
May 13th, 2012

This morning I was up at 7:25 am. We took showers and got ready for the day! We made our way to the bus stop so we could wait for our ride to Epcot.

dsc0738v.jpg

We arrived at the park at 9:03 am - right on time!

May 13th was Mother's Day this year, so the cast members were standing right after the turnstiles handing out roses to all of the Moms for Mother's day. You can't get much cuter than that! What a nice touch, Disney!

dsc0741t.jpg

It was seriously the cutest thing ever. I ended up finding one on the ground later...my mommy was there in spirit!

Any good diser knows that your first stop at Epcot should be to get Soarin' fastpasses! So we headed straight for The Land and our Soarin' return time was 10:20 am!

This was right after they instilled the new "you cannot arrive past your ride time" rule. I am still very sad to see these signs on top of the fastpass machines. They're messing with my strategy, man.

dsc0742ll.jpg

We decided to grab a quick breakfast at Sunshine Seasons!

Even this early in the morning, the desserts looked SO GOOD!

dsc0743knj.jpg

dsc0745c.jpg

-drools-

Kristen and I both got the Croissant Berry Pudding. I have talked about this in one of my previous trip reports, but this food is SUCH a hidden gem! It's basically bread pudding... but made out of CROISSANTS. Brilliant, right? Make a note to try it - It's absolutely delicious!

dsc0746w.jpg

I am seriously obsessed with that stuff. It's amazing.

Mike and Katie got Breakfast Paninis with egg, bacon, pork, and cheese.

dsc0747f.jpg

Then Dave took the healthy route and got yogurt and fruit.

dsc0748y.jpg

He usually does.

Now that we had some food in our systems, we were all ready to start the day!

dsc0753ij.jpg

dsc0755iz.jpg

Once we finished eating, we went right to Figment! I couldn't help but sing along! IMAAAAAA-ginaaaaation!

FIGMENT WAS HERE! GASP!

dsc0758lg.jpg

We had a good time looking around the ImageWorks gift shop for some fun merchandise!

dsc0759wy.jpg

MUPPETS MUPPETS MUPPETS.

dsc0760rp.jpg

I want... scratch that. I NEED this shirt!!!

dsc0761z.jpg

Oh I love that shirt. It's perfect!

Then Kristen and I made our first Vinylmation trades EVER!

Here is the one I started out with:

dsc0002xs.jpg

Here is Kristen's original:

dsc0762c.jpg

Then I traded for some snowflake one:

dsc0765sg.jpg

And Kristen got a Lost Boy!

dsc0766x.jpg

Then we went over to the Seas so we could go on the Finding Nemo ride! I LOVE this picture that I grabbed on our way over there!

dsc0767r.jpg

IT'S NEMO TIME!

dsc0769o.jpg

Did you ever notice how WONDERFUL that queue smells? It's absolutely fantastic.

I am OBSESSED with the Nemo queue. The music, the details...it's all so relaxing.

The scary light bulb fish wasn't working during our ride-through. I was prepping myself and then he didn't scare the living daylights out of me like he normally does.

He hasn't been working since then either. I'm thinking maybe they turned his light off because parents were complaining about kids peeing their pants or something.

There was a HUGE sea turtle just swimming through the tank during the Marlin/Nemo/Dory projection of "A Big Blue World." He was awesome.

I loved him! Real life Crush!

We decided to take a look at the fish tanks afterwords. Then right where we were looking, the giant sea turtle kept coming RIGHT UP to the glass! He was literally waving at the guests! It was the cutest and coolest thing I have ever seen.

dsc0771u.jpg

We found the hidden mickey!

dsc0775d.jpg

"Fish, fish, fish, everywhere fish!"

dsc0778te.jpg

We found a little Squirt stuffed animal in the gift shop that perfectly matched Kristen's nail!

dsc0781p.jpg

"Heyyy! You guys made me ink!"

Update #11: A Mother's Day Morning at Epcot (Part 2)
May 13th, 2012

We left there and went over to Soarin' to use our fastpasses. We were seated in Row 2.

Ahh our favorite man making our favorite face.

dsc0791q.jpg

This ended up being Katie's favorite ride at Epcot, but no surprise there! (Clearly she didn't understand how great the Maelstrom would be...)

How rude.

Our next stop was Bambi's Butterfly House which was all set up for the Flower and Garden Festival! I have quite a few pictures to share from here. Their beauty is pretty self explanatory! ;)

dsc0811k.jpg

dsc0799hs.jpg

dsc0800ph.jpg

dsc0809f.jpg

THE BAMBI TOPIARIES! Gotta love anything themed after a deer.

dsc0802r.jpg

dsc0807n.jpg

ANOTHER FAMILY PHOTO!!

dsc0806z.jpg

At this point we were getting a little hungry. It was almost lunch time, so we started heading in that direction! Here are a few more scenic Flower and Garden pictures that we took on the way:

dsc0813om.jpg

dsc0814d.jpg

dsc0815y.jpg

YAY MONORAIL YAY.

dsc0819k.jpg

dsc0820e.jpg

The Chimpanzee sand sculpture. This thing blows my mind.

dsc0821i.jpg

dsc0822q.jpg

Like I said, lunch was the next thing on our agenda! But I'll let Kristen tell you all about that in the next update!

NOM NOM. Can't wait!

Continued in Next Post

The Croissant Berry Pudding is DELICIOUS! I discovered it about a year ago and now I'm totally in love.

Not too many people know about it...it hasn't reached School Bread/Dole Whip status here on the DIS yet.
