A question about ice and laundry...

It's been several years since we last visited the Fort. Will I still need a small fortune in quarters for ice and laundry or have things been upgraded to take dollar bills?

Quarters.
However they do have change machines.
I have a jar and I fill it with quarters. I then put it in the MH. I always have them available.
When I get home I refill it and start again.

Yep, we have an ongoing quarter collection for that, too. They all go in a dish that sits in the dining room, and then at Disney time, they go into a bag and into the camper! It would be so nice if they could attach a KTTW reader to those machines instead.

What a great idea!

We found it easier getting ice from the trading post by the boat launch. We got robbed from the comfort station machine and felt we were getting more ice from the trading post for the price.

Wow glad I found this post. So we are booked for the cabins, but I just assumed there would be the typical ice machine at the comfort stations. So buying ice is the only option? grumble grumble ;)

I haven't stayed at a cabin for years but I think they have an ice maker. If not, it has a real freezer and you can bring your own trays and use filtered water.

Thanks so much! I appreciate the info. Was still thinking I should add a bag of ice to my garden grocer delivery just to be safe.

In revisiting this thread I just realized you expected free ice like at a regular resort. Afraid not because they would go through tons of it with all the coolers. But I see you got the answer you needed. Just be aware that I don't think the ice maker has a filter so it using Florida's skunky water.

Oh also no towels at the pool.

I'm a motorhomer, not a cabiner, but if the ice maker is a part of the fridge, don't all fridges have a filter in the ice watwer/ice line?

It doesn't have to, my first frig with an ice maker didn't and I could see Disney not wanting to keep track of filter changes.

As I recall it was a cheaper frig like you would find in a furnished apartment.
