clipless curling iron

OK getting board with making my hair straight with the straightner. I've seen people go to the hairstylist to get the "sexy blowout" pretty much loose curls.

I watched some clips on youtube and it seems like its best to use a clipless curling iron for some natural looking curls. Not looking to spend alot of $$. Have u tried this type of iron? any recommendations?

I've never seen one.....sounds interesting. Wonder if you could get the same look with some of those foam curlers?

My daughter has this one. I bought at a mall kiosk about 4-5 years ago when they first came out and were about $150.

It works awesome, the curls last for several days. However I must warn you, it is tricky to get used to, and DD burned herself pretty badly on her shoulders and upper arms. I don't see included with the amazon images the heat glove that her's came with. I would definitely wear a glove and a robe or something to protect your hands, arms and shoulders

I have a smaller one and love it! Although lately, i've just been using my curling iron open.

When you go to curl a section of hair, open the curling iron and wrap the hair around the barrel, and be careful not to burn your fingers holding the piece of hair on the barrel, just like this video.

Clipless curling irons are a million times better than the regular curling irons with a clip. The traditional ones leave dents and they limit the styles you can create. At the salon we only use clipless, they're actually faster once you get used to them. You might want to get one that comes with a glove, that's always useful for beginners. We use the karmin g3 clipless, so far it makes the softest curls and they seem to last longer than the babyliss we used before.

Now that you described it.....I have heard of it before. I remember one of my facebook friends posting a picture of her neck/shoulder burn YIKES! The glove and some neck protection sound very important with something like this.

I use a wand to do my daughter's competition hair for cheer comps...it does a great job, but there is quite a learning curve to figure it all out & as others said prepare for many burned finger tips LOL

OK i purchased the Remington one yesterday at Target. 22 bucks

I used it -- didn't come out great -- think i started too high to the top and it looked a bit frizzy. i will try it again on Friday -- i will wash my hair put some heat protection on dry it on Thursday night then Friday i will try again.

Those who use it - what do u put on your hair?

Did you look into the Herstyler? It's come down in price to only $45. Nothing needs to be applied first, the curls turn out shiny.

Definitely use a heat protector and some sort of smoothing creme to give your hair a shiny, silky look. I also spray with hairspray and then brush it out, it helps hold the curl much longer. make sure your hair is smooth before curling because if it's at all frizzy the curls will look messy and frizzier.

Have you ever used your flat iron to curl your hair? There's tons of videos on how to do it on youtube. I love the way the curls come out! And they come out smooth and shiny.

I watched this video yesterday after seeing it posted and then tried that technique on my hair this morning. UGH! She makes it look SO easy, and her hair comes out so gorgeous.

Today at work I look like I've done nothing to my hair but roll out of bed, lol.

I usually blow dry out my hair with a round brush. If I am especially frizzy, I will use a chi flat iron on it first... the top layers. I do not do small sections like I would if I would be ironing it for a night out though. I am just trying to get it calmed down. I then take the sections for the remington to curl it.
