I have been waiting so long for this trip. It's our first time for a trip at Christmas and it's been planned for 5 years. But, the other day we got news that a much loved family member who has been fighting cancer and has been doing so well, has all of a sudden taken a turn for the worse and has only 4-8 weeks to go. I'm devastated to say the least. The trip is up in the air; I can't miss a family funeral for a dear loved one. Then yesterday (3 days after being told the bad news), we got a call that they were gone. I'm absolutely crushed. The funeral will not interfere with the trip at all, but suddenly the trip just doesn't seem important. I can't even enjoy working on the shirts I was making. The magic isn't there because I know that if I'm on the trip I'm going to see all kinds of things that I would liked to have bought for her.

So sorry for your loss.

Our potential guest found out today that she has to work the day after thanksgiving, so she won't be able to stay with us the entire trip. She may have found a deal on a flight/room combo that will likely have her staying off site, so our AoA LM ressie is staying put. More on this to come I'm sure.

Just remembered my wife bought the skirts from Joann's that she has to make. I'll have to remind her of that as she has likely forgotten.

In the meantime just counting the days.

We have an ADR at Le Cellier around the same time on 11/6. Maybe we'll see each other!

I need to start working on my day to day plans but I'm having a hard time sitting down to do it.

So I'm spending my time sewing instead. I have finished dresses or skirt/tee combos for my 2 girls for 7 of 10 events/days. Only 3 more to go. One is in progress (aka cut out - I will try to do the sewing tonight), the other 2 I have material but no firm plan for yet. I'm still working out the details. I originally didn't think I'd come close to finishing all the outfits I had planned so I am thrilled that I am 50 days out and have 14 of 20 outfits complete. I feel pretty good that I can finish the other 6 in time now.

If you want I'll post pictures.

I do need to work on the day to day stuff though. I need to get my sister to confirm which meal she wants for Thanksgiving. There have been so many changes with the new Fantasyland, Test Track being closed, Christmas events, etc that I'm having a hard time figuring out where to start.

I was going to ask you to post pictures of your creations! Yes, please!::yes:: You've gotten a lot accomplished already. So cool!:cool1:

Oh yes, please post some pics if you don't mind. I love seeing what other people are busy creating. Our trip this time is only 5 days long so there's really not a whole lot left for me to do as far as outfits. I bought most of our shirts at the Disney store. I still have one set of shirts to make.

I also need to plan each of our days and make a list of all the must try snacks.
Today was supposed to be a Disney planning day but I ended up spending it in the ER. Nothing too serious but enough for DH to insist on me going. I'm home now and feeling much better.

So glad you are feeling better! Don't scare us like that!:faint: Maybe tomorrow can be a Disney planning day while you continue to get better.;)

Of course you feel that way now, sweetie. Who wouldn't? Nothing is as important as our family. I'm so very sorry for your loss. If you would feel better postponing your trip, by all means do that. However, I would wait a while and see how you feel later. Your gut reaction is, it won't be fun, but when you think about your loved one and the fact that they would probably really want you to go and make some lovely memories, you may feel differently. Prayers to you and your family.

Please feel free to use us as sounding boards or to just listen.

Thanks, we had a ADR for Whispering Canyon Cafe but changed it due to the menu change, we really like it there, we were just there a month ago, hope they change the menu back:confused3

We like it too, but I wasn't happy about the menu change either. Lots of folks seem to feel the same, so maybe we'll see a change back to the way it was. Let's hope! Lucky you, going again so soon!!!:cool1:

I know how you feel. We lost my stepdad five months before our trip and my grandmother one month before our trip. We decided to go anyway because they would have wanted us to go. It was hard, but we did some things while we were there to honor their memory which helped. I am very sorry for your loss.

I had my first Disney nightmare for this trip. I dreamt I got to Orlando and realized I forgot the park tickets, gift cards and money.

Needless to say I woke up this morning to make sure I knew exactly where each was.

My oldest did a partial fashion show for me last night so I have some pictures of the outfits. I'll try to post them later today.

I saw this on facebook and thought it would lighten the mood a bit!

:rotfl2:

Question of the day: Where do you keep your tickets, fastpasses, photopass cards, etc so that they are organized and available when needed? :confused3

tickets & FP's I keep in my wallet, for the phtopass card we double tape in the plastic sleeve of the autograph book, this way we know where it is and is ready to scan (keep a note somewhere of the photo pass # just in case:thumbsup2)

Now I can stalk you Ron! Welcome to the thread!!!!

By the looks of your ADRs, it might be hard for us to meet up. Unless you are hopping, we have different parks every day. We will have to make something work... even if I leave the wife and kids at the room and meet you out for a night cap! :drinking1

Oh, and we are still thinking of MVMCP on the 9th. We are hitting Kona for breakfast in the am. If we are going to the party we will probably chill at the resort after breakfast till we head to the party in the afternoon. I would think we would arrive before 4 since we have APs but I'm not sure if our friends are going the AP route.
