Has anyone been invited to try the new Fast Passes?

me too- we are going next month and i was wondering if any DVC member staying on points got invite to participate in September. Or is this just for regular paying guests?

Test of the FastPass+ system to take place 9/18-9/24 at Magic Kingdom - Pre-selected guests will be able to participate in a test of the new FastPass+ system. This is the largest test of this system to date

We were just there 9/14 to 9/23 on points at the Beach Club, and was not offered. We were hoping, but no such luck!

From what I have heard, it is currently/primarily being offered to guests who have booked through a Travel Agent; the source being Len Testa with touringplans. I'm sure that could change very quickly as the testing phase completes. I have a feeling that DVC will probably be one of the last groups to be included once it goes "on-line".

Yes, we stayed at VWL Sept 15th-19th and we participated in the trial on the 19th as we had an evening flight home. It was great! Knowing we had pre-reserved fastpasses for our favorite attractions made the day so much more relaxed.

Edited to add: we are DVC members and stayed on points

I tried it, and while using them is easy enough, all it did was stress me out. Have to try to balance FP with ADR. Just to much planing. I personally do not like this at all. We even had two last min additions to our res, and while they were able to participate, they could not get any of the FP we had. Vacation is supposed to be stress free. Now Disney wants me to plan my meals 6 months early, and now pick what rides I want and when. Next thing you know they will ask me to plan my restroom stop. So I am not a fan.

That's exactly why this is a trial period. I'm sure Disney is receiving TONS of feedback and will make the usage and transition as seamless as possible. They have a knack for that :)

I never thought of it that way. That would be a hassle.

I could not agree with you more about the feedback and the feedback I will be providing is this sucks. Period. I do not like it.

And it was. I am sure a lot of people will love this. I am not one of them. If I had to choose I'd rather get a 'Ohana reservation than a Space Mountian reservation.

We were also offered the Fast Past Plus trial for 9/24. We are DVC and took the Magical Express. We used a couple of the passes that my DS and DDiL selected, but the passes that DBF and I selected didn't fit into our schedule once we were down there. We found that with the two DGS (who both napped) it was hard to predict where we would be at a certain time. We have no problem making ADRs six month out, but Fast Passes are another story. We're hoping to get a follow-up survey from Disney about our experience.

I dont know to much about it , but if the new system is going to be more like the adr . I will not like it either . How far in
advance do you need to tell them what rides and when .

If its going to be like adr and hard to get popular rides a few months before your trip, its going to be a disaser

I think we would like this during F&W festival. We used to get FP for Soarin' first thing in the morning and then use them when we had a break between seminars. Now we won't be able to do that (I suspect the stars will rarely align), but if we could book FP for those breaks, it would be almost the same....

They were selected from Magical Express bookings. So yes some DVC members were included. I feel NextPass will be a love or hate situation. I personally am fine with it.

I'm quite sure I would feel the same way! I no longer make ADRs for that very reason, and I certainly do not want to plan my touring days that far ahead. It takes all the fun and spontaneity out of a trip. HATE that they are doing this.

I am not sure what this new Fast Pass system is that is being tested, but if you have to pick your rides in advance of your trip, I don't think I would like it either. We usually don't decide on what park to go to until that day.

I stopped making ADRs also because I didn't want to have to watch the clock. So now we just go to counter service, or if I really want a sit down I call that day and see if I can get in, that has worked out for us so far.
