November 2012 Trip planners #4~almost Disney time! Everyone welcome!

I just found this thread - 4 threads in. I am not going to go back and read but I will jump in now.

We are going 11/15 - 11/25 and staying offsite. Today my countdown clock went to 50 days. It doesn't include today or arrival day though so its probably really 51 days.

Our plans
11/15 - travel day. We leave late because of school so won't get in until 7pm. No plans but getting checked in and sleeping.
11/16 - Late brunch at CM, Party at MVMCP
11/17 - short (late arrival early departure) day at Epcot. Lunch at Coral World
11/18 - Hollywood Studios - Have reservations for 50PT at lunch - not sure if we will keep them.
11/19 - Epcot - dinner at Via Napoli
11/20 - Animal Kingdom - Lunch at Tusker House
11/21 - Magic Kingdom - Dinner at Cinderellas Royal Table
11/22 - Thanksgiving - Hollywood studios. Lunch at Hollywood and Vine or Dinner at Chef Mickey. Will cancel one reservation eventually.
11/23 - Magic Kingdom - Breakfast at Crystal Palace.
11/24 - Epcot - Dinner at Biergarten
11/25 - Travel Day - Early flight home.

We are going with extended family, but the immediate family is me and my DH and our 2 little girls who will be 6-1/2 and 2-1/2. Its the 2 year olds first trip to DW. She has been on 2 Disney Cruises. The 6 year old has been to DW and DL (and the 2 cruises). I'm hoping my 2 year old likes the characters better in Nov then she did in July. In July she loved them from afar. She would want to go give them a hug until we would get up close to them and then she would change her mind.

:welcome: Looks like a great schedule! I hope your littlest one likes the characters too! Maybe having seen them so recently, they won't seem so strange to her. And in that setting, it may seem more natural. My DGD loved the characters at Crystal Palace when she was 2 yrs and 3 months, so it could happen! ::yes::

We are fortunate enough to have been able to plan a trip to WDW!
With our schedules it didn't look like we would be able to go until March 2012.
But we arrive on November 17-23rd! Yay!

:welcome: You have lots of company on here and we love to hear about your plans, such as where you're staying, ADRs etc. Glad you're here!:thumbsup2

WDW is getting closer- only 37 days away!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

I have been slowly purchasing things for the trip- I have some breakfast items ready, got a bunch of cool LED light up stuff for after dark, lanyards set to go, and got ponchos and umbrellas just in case.

Yesterday, I found the perfect small cross-body bag for the parks. Target has a a Mossimo bag on clearance for about $16 right now that is great. Reminds me of the Baggelini Zip 'n Go bag. The bag is small but holds a lot and has lots of zippered compartments and a nice long strap to go across the body (it is also adjustable). Target's version is faux leather and comes in fuschia, purple, mustard color, and black.

62 days left! I am finishing up my Pop window decorations. :cool1:

How much time do you spend in World Showcase? Should I do 2 days at Epcot or another day at MK (we were going to do a half 2nd day at Epcot, then MVMCP that night)? Any suggestions?

Do any of you use those water bottle strap thingys? I am trying to avoid using a stroller just to carry our stuff, but carrying 7 bottles around between all of us does not appeal to me (and it seems that the grown ups always end up carrying the kids' stuff!). If I can swing not taking a stroller, this will be the first time in 16 years that I have been without one in a Disney park. I have the feeling that I will feel like I am missing something all day long!

Thanks in advance!

We just changed our plans. Our 21 year old niece decided to go with us. So moving from Pop to a condo off site.

I also managed to get ressies for Chef Mickey's for Thanksgiving evening.

We were going for 2 days but now just one day. I dont think there is too much there uther then ToT andd RNRC that my family will want to ride. The younger ones cant ride of course. I do want to do 2 days of AK but have no where to put it unless I cancel a water park day OR Be Our Guest at MK and I am NOT doing that!:crazy2:
The shows would interest them but that's it really.

When we took our almost 5 year old DGD in April, we skipped DHS. While it's a favorite of mine, for her, I just thought it wasn't worth it. We didn't have park hoppers since it was a short trip, so we opted out of it for another whole day at MK.
I'm just feeling give it one more year they will be taller and yet still interested in the princess shows

We purposely are going to DHS on our arrival day because it will be a "short" day for us. We won't get to the park until 1pm, and we have lunch and dinner ressies, so we won't be spending much time in the park.

My little girls will like the Disney Jr stuff, but my older DD will just be mad that she can't ride the roller coaster!
Good point we have some serious Disney jr fans at our house.

Goodness! We're considering changes to our plans now too. A friend is considering tagging along and that might mean moving from a LM room to a suite at AoA. Of course, she's not sure if she wants to be there for Thanksgiving, so she's slow to make plans. I told her last night that we have 7 weeks left and it's a busy time so she'll have to hurry.

The options I figured out are like this:

1) for $1700 she can get a room at Pop (AoA LM is sold out), tickets and dining plan like us. She can ride with us in the car and since Pop and AoA are connected we could still be together most of the time

2) for $2500 we can upgrade to a suite at AoA and get her tickets and dining. We're all together which might make logistics easier. She's favoring this plan at the moment.

3) if she doesn't want to spend Thanksgiving at WDW she can fly, get a room at Pop and leave the day before Thanksgiving. Including tickets and DDP that would also be around $1700

Another option would be for us to move to Pop and then get connecting rooms, but we really want to stay at AoA, so that's not really on the table.

What do you think? :confused3

Canceled our ADRs and our AKL package for November. Our new dates are 12/17-12/23. Guess I've got to find the December thread! I'm going to be SOOOO jealous when all of you guys start going!!!! :)

I think I'm going to order my photopass + so I can get some Mickey mail. :rotfl: I still have 59 days to go, so I won't be getting any other Mickey mail anytime soon!

You should be getting Mickey Mail pretty soon!:yay: That bag sounds perfect for the parks! I wouldn't bother with umbrellas if you have ponchos. That's a lot to keep up with. It's fun to start collecting things in one spot isn't it?:goodvibes

I do not use the water bottle strap thingys as a rule. I have one on my lanyard, and have used it once or twice, but I can't stand to have something heavy hanging there all day. I can't even imagine 7 water bottles!!!!:faint: Can you just have 2 or 3 water bottles and share? We take a small lightweight backpack with us and that's where I keep our water bottle if we have one. Maybe for your first time without a stroller, you'll need some sort of park bag. I think it would be hard to go cold turkey!:rotfl:

As for WS, it might be good to see how your family likes it before determining if it's worth another trip there. Some families take two or even three days at Epcot, while others do 1/2 a day. It's all in what your family enjoys. I know this isn't a bit of help, but it is just so subjective.:confused3 Good luck!:goodvibes

Do not give up your AoA ressie!!!! You've looked forward to that for too long. I like option 1. The suite might be a little tight for 3 adults and two kids. Hope she decides soon! Keep us posted.:mic:
