Ck in or head to park first?

We're staying one night at AoA before moving to BCV for 6 nights next month :). We're planning on going to MK on the morning that we check out of AoA. I'm wondering if it would be better to head straight to MK or if we should check into BCV first. We will have a rental car so we'll be taking our own luggage. Thanks! :thumbsup2

like to check in first - but go pretty early before 8am if possible - so then can go to the parks.

We just did the switch last week from our 1st night at ASMu to BCV. If dining plans or tickets aren't with your package, I'd just go to the park. I'm a big fan of MK at rope drop, so I'd rather be right at the park then checking in only to tell me my room won't be ready until later in the afternoon anyway. Do online check-in too, if you haven't already. I've found that it saves us time....

The two times I did split stays, I was at the move into resort @07:00 and the room was ready both times. ASMu to BCV is only a few miles so it should not take much time to make a quick trip over and check-in early.

If you have a room request, I would check in first. If you don't, there is a good chance that your requested room will go to someone else who checks in during the day.

Can I just jump on this thread and ask a question?

I have only ever checked in late so always arrive and get my keys and room but over New Year we are doing a split stay. If I check in at OKW early what does that mean? Do I get a key and get told when my room is ready later or is it just a way of securing my room request and I go back to reception later and collect my key?

You will get your key when you check in. They will text you when your room is ready. You do not have to visit the Front Desk again.

Check in 1st, the earlier you get there, less chance of something fouling up.

Thanks for the feedback everyone! I think our plan will be to check in first, assuming we get up early enough that is. We do have a room request, but we won't be that disappointed if we don't get it. Thanks again!:goodvibes

Go to parks first! Best time to ride is when parks first open. Conquer as much as you can, then take a break and go check in mid day. If room is open, relax some. If it's not open, grab lunch and head back to park!

I would split up. Load up the car with you luggage. You go check in let the rest head straight to MK.

I would go to the parks, it's just added logistics stuff that you may not want to be bothered with once you get there. Just go have fun! And check in when you check in. It'll be fine!

Checking in late reduces your chances of getting your room requests. While you are in the park, people checking in are asking for a different room and they are giving them the one assigned to you.

Did OP have a specific room request? There aren't that many super views or anything at BCV so it doesn't matter much unless there are medical issues, etc.

I don't know if the OP had a request or not but there are many reading these posts that may benefit from our posts. I agree that BCV doesn't have much in the way of views but people do have favorites. We would prefer not to be on the road.
