Not happy about it,, but it was the only flight for our budget.
We touch down at 9:40pm....
I understand I have to pick up my own bags and bring them to MDE.

FIGURING, we wont get to BC till 10:40. I guess their CS will be closed by then.
Hope the bar isn't. ;)
No chance on going to the parks either. lol.

Do I need to let BC know we will be checking in so late? :confused3

We had an arrival at 11 pm once but due to the weather the flight arrived at 3am. I was worried about the ME so I called when we landed. They told us they follow the arrivals so no need to worry.

To answer your question though, I don't think you have to let them know you are arriving late but then again it doesn't hurt.

When we visited last October, we were stranded in Orlando due to a freak snowstorm that affected flights in to our home airport. We had to reschedule our flight for two days later and head back to Disney World. When we finally got back to the hotel (Port Orleans Riverside), it was after 2 AM. There was some trouble checking in, but Riverside took good care of us. As the previous poster said, it doesn't hurt to let them know, but it's probably not necessary.

If you do online checkin one of the questions asked is when you plan to arrive. So they'll already know. No need to call.

my understanding is that they will hold your room until 6am the next morning. If you don't check in by then, they will charge you one night fee and cancel the rest of your reservation. So you should be fine.

I think it's very optimistic to plan on arriving at your resort an hour after your flight touches down--particularly when picking up your own luggage and taking ME. I always estimate at least a couple of hours.

In my experience, it can take up to half hour just to get off the plane and get to baggage claim unless you're in first class or one of the first rows in coach. Luggage seems to take forever to arrive (usually about 20-30 minutes after we've taken our time walking down to baggage claim and stopped for bathroom breaks), then you have to drag everything down to ME (or even go upstairs and back down again if your airline is on the other side of the airport), check in, wait to board the bus, wait for the bus to fill, ride for half an hour to WDW, and then drop off at other resorts (I've never been the first drop off yet!).

Actually, if your flight is landing inside of the 10 pm window, ME will still get your bags. It's just airport arrivals after 10 pm that they won't.
We has a flight land at 9:55 in 2011 and they got our bags.

We have checked in late, with DME and no problems. We do choose to use online check in and we state what time we will be arriving. This week we will be arriving really late, almost 11 probably. I would recommend online check in for sure.

True, but if you let them get the bags, aren't you running the risk of them knocking on your door after midnight to deliver them?

Personally, I would get my own luggage and take it to the bus with me.

We usually check in after midnight and have never had a problem (although we've never used DME). You can have your arrival time noted on your reservation, but it's really not necessary, especially if you're taking DME as they will have that information. Have a great trip :wizard:.

Yes, you will get your bags at an unGodly hour, however, we personally will take that over having to schlepp our kids to baggage claim when all they want to do is get on the ME bus....they are sound sleepers and bell services has yet to wake them up when delivering luggage.

We checked at BC once after 11pm looking like something the cat dragged in! Not only were there no problems, we were upgraded from SV to CL!!

We used ME, and just brought stuff we needed for overnight in our carry on. When we woke up, our message light was flashing on the phone, from bell services. We called them, and they brought our bags up, no problems.

Have a great trip!

we stay value and some of the food court is open till 12. 4 days left, we fly out really early so never have had a problem arriving late. Enjoy your trip:thumbsup2

Since you are arriving so late in the day, plan on getting your luggage yourself. You will be better off getting your own luggage and knowing you have it. Otherwise, you have to go back to your resort, and wait patiently for your bags (which won't be quick to arrive to you).

Magical Express is a great, free perk, but save yourself a lot of time and get your own luggage.

We almost always drive in after the kids get out of school on a Friday, so it's usually around midnight almost everytime we have ever checked into our Disney resort. It's not a big deal at all, there's always a number of other people there checking in with us at that hour. You don't need to let the resort know you are checking in at that time - they will be checking a lot of other people at that hour right along with you :-)

Well, I say yes, let them know you are coming in that late. They might give you some tips or ideas.
I also go with pick up your luggage and take it to ME with you.
I only came in late once, and was staying values resort, which may make a difference, but they brought my luggage after 2:30AM, I had checked in about 10:30-11PM. I was there for a race, but fortunately the next day (or actually the day the luggage was delivered) was not race day, but expo day, so I was able to get to bed uninterrupted that night.

All you have to do is to tell the front desk to hold you bags, and they will. No knock on the door! Then you call down the next day when you are ready for them.

I don't get why so many people would rather spend extra time at MCO getting their own bags when Disney will do it for you. Plus you also save on having to tip the bus driver for stowing and retrieving the bags.

We've arrived as late as 2am and didn't call and tell them we were on our way. I figured it was still considered the same night.

If you are hungry, grab a bite to eat at the airport before getting on the DME bus. You are right that the food place may be closed by the time you get there. The DME bus shares with other resorts.

We arrived at CR after 10PM last year...and we were also upgraded to CL! Made me think that we should always arrive late! ;)

Many years ago we arrived at CSR around 3AM on our check-in day (way before check-in time). They upgraded us to a water view and got us in a room...we must have looked pretty rough and they didn't want us hanging out in the lobby! :rotfl2:

People come and go all hours of the night and they are used to this. Since you are staying at BC, I believe Big River Grille on the boardwalk is open until at least midnight. But I think BC's room service is 24 hrs. We've never had a hard time finding some sort of food and drink somewhere!
