Anyone Game? It’s my Sep 2013 Blog! I'm home; with a TR link in #1189, 10/14

Great pictures, what a way to relax , and great timing for getting in the bird action. Looks like you both got to relax. That filter did a great job. I can hardly believe we are almost only a year out. I am getting so excited to go back there. Just not the airplane ride!

Those were beautiful shots, but don't tell me you had the camera set on 5 second exposures...did it go off every 5 seconds?

Wonderful pics of Johnathan and very wise words we should all remember.:thumbsup2

I know. When we were first talking about this trip, it was almost at the 2 year mark. Can you believe that we're now at the 13 month stage?

Just remember...you can always hang on to that cow pole of yours when in the airplane if you need to hold on to something. ;)
(You'll be fine in that plane!)

very nice shots. I am glad you got to enjoy it and share it with us!

Thanks Brandi.

I wondered if someone would pick me up on this.

I had the camera on the 5 sec exposure for the first shot. When that bird came along, I had to whip that ND filter off and change all the settings as quickly as I could. I kept wondering if JLS would fly away because of the ...er...noise and language I was using.

And did I mention that the water feature is located in the grounds of St Patrick's Cathedral?

:rotfl:

Wonderful pics of Johnathan and very wise words we should all remember.:thumbsup2

Thanks Angela.

Cool! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I'll get to see you right at the beginning of the whole thing!

Just one year to wait till your trip to Disney World and to do the DISer meet & greet. Time will go by quickly and all sudden it is time for your trip.

So I have fallen behind in just about every area of my life and have decided to catch up. Of course my first priority is the DIS ;) Boy, have I missed a humdinger of a change!

When I think of Fall Foliage I think of New England, but you will get some good colors in Colorado to (Hey - it's right there in the name!), though not as varied - the red's of New England Maples are pretty unique. I would still pick Durango though - but I love the Rockies! Of course, we're a lot less likely to meet up with you in the Rockies.

Oh no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Colorado is a huge distance from CT! Darn those logistics!

Part of me still would love to get to NYC. So I'm not totally shutting that door just yet. But yes, this part of Colorado looks like it might be a good place for DH and I to get to.

I do too. But the New England colours are traditionally later in October and we just won't be there in that time. Someday...I'm going to plan a trip just for New England fall.

You are right PIO- the Fall show is not in September in New England. It starts earlier in the North but from CT and Ma the colors generally are not peak until mid October. By Halloween it is gone. I am not a tree person but it does depend on the type of tree and the weather.

My niece lived in Arizona for years and while I never got the chance to visit her I saw gorgeous photos of the Southwest. It would be a shame not to experience the glory that part of our Country offers if you are in that area.

I was really glad to have been in the right place at the right time with the right tools for this set of shots!

They were such fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We could be doing this dance for the next year!

Cool! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I'm COUNTING on it!

:cheer2::yay::cheer2:

Times flies once you're under the one year mark.

Strange as it sounds....I actually like the anticipation of waiting. The holiday goes too quick! :(

Bret - I'm still hoping to be meeting and greeting with you too. :thumbsup2

Nancy - I still haven't yet blown out the flicker of heading across to the East Coast. But we would need to have more than 3 weeks for this. We'll just have to wait and see.

Tiptoe thru’ the Tulips

I have to admit that I am looking forward to a bit of sunshine after a rather wet and cold Melbourne winter.

The weather is slowly warming up over here…but yesterday, it dawned beautiful and blue and sunny and temperatures in the low 70’s.

If it stays at this temperature, I’ll be happy. But I suspect that in 4 months from now, I’ll be complaining about the heat.

Still…..we made the most of the glimpse of sunshine we saw and decided that we needed to tiptoe through the tulips.

Tesselaar is located up in the Dandenong hills in Melbourne, about an hour’s drive away from us. The family is originally from Holland and they have been growing and selling tulips for over 50 years. During the springtime, they hold the annual tulip festival.

Seems like a lot of other Melbournians had the same idea as us.

I tried hard to steer clear of people in my pictures….

…and in the end, I just decided to focus on the flower power on hand.

Yellow…the colour of sunshine.

Pink….Pretty in Pink.

Orange….zesty, vibrant and spicy!

But I have to say, I’m more attracted to the deeper richer tones of purples, reds and the Queen of the Night.

The flowers are so pretty. I'm jealous of you right now. Although we also has 70 degrees and sunshine, we now have the autumn chill. Which means we're close to winter. And I hate winter. You have the summer to look forward to.

Oooh such pretty photos!

Even though it's only 5 minutes down the road from us, and I drive past all the time, I've actually never been  Looks like I will have to make the effort!

It was beautiful weather yesterday - a perfect spring day :goodvibes Too bad it's gone back to overcast and windy again today...

You need to move well south. We have a weeks worth of temps in the 30's & 40's. the rest is no that bad at all.

Such beautiful photos! You have a great eye and those folks on the photography forum have given you some great advice, so much that you could be giving advice! I would love to have the time to stop and smell the roses...er tulips! ;)

The signs of spring are beautiful and so are your photos...

I am looking forward to the cool weather here but nit on to the winter..

I'd love to, and my DD25 is already in Louisiana. However, I have at least another 10 years until I can even think about retiring and moving. And DD 24 and DGD3 will be still up here.
