oct 20 2012 Magic can happen!

I can not believe we are one month from crusing.:cheer2: I am in Nebraska visiting my mom and can definitely feel fall in the air. I hope when I get back to Houston we will have cooler mornings at least.
Can't wait for my first Disney Cruise.:cool1: Sherry

Okay I am totally new to all of this and I guess I am behind on all of it already haha. I am a regular cruiser but I am totally new to Disney. So I am traveling with DH and my two boys, one is 2 and the other is 3.5. Can anyone explain the kids club stuff? I have the little one signed up for babysitting already but what's the deal with the 3 year old? Where does he go? :confused3

I'd like to do the FE thing but can someone explain it to me?

Just act like I am a dummy newbie and shower me with information or where to get the information? Thank you! :thumbsup2

Oh good another first time Disney Cruiser. This is our first Disney Cruise also.
From what I have gathered on different forums there is a fish on our stateroom doors, I think it where the crew leaves us information for that day's activities. Someone made an extender or pockets for their door to get the notes in. It evolved from there that little present exchanges would be left in the pockets. I have only been on these disboards forums so I am not sure if other forums exchange also. The gifts can be per stateroom or per person, it is up to you. Our cutoff date is Oct 1 so you have time to decide if you want to participate.

I don't know about Kids Club for your 3 year old but am anxious to hear about it as I would love to bring one of my grandkids on a Disney Cruise. Sherry:cool1:

If the 3 yo is potty trained you will be able to drop off during the open hours and he/she can stay as long as desired. You have a cel phone so they can call you if the little one wants you back, etc. Our kids rarely want to leave. If you do late dining they serve the little kids food quick and come to the dining room and get the kids from you and take them to club so you can enjoy the rest of the meal. We always do early dining, but this is an excellent option for second seating

We are joining this cruise. First Disney cruise. Sixth cruise in a year for me dw not so many. Looking forward to a new line and ship out of Galveston an hour from our driveway.

Welcome, this is also our first Disney cruise. We live in Houston and we are really excited to have Disney Cruises so close. Sherry

We are up to sixteen cabins for the Fe exchange. That is so great. Did we decide the cutoff is Oct 1st? Sherry:cool1:

I know it's been slow from the beginning but I look everyday! :) I think someone said we would cut off the FE Oct 1st, that's ok to me. I don't see a lot of people expressing opinions on it.

From my calculations so far there are 12 men, 16 women, 2 boys ages 11-18, 8 boys under the age of 10, and three girls all 10 and under for the FE exchange. Just a summary if this helps anyone.

:cool2: I did something similar to this too. :)

I'm okay with the Oct 1st cut off on the FEE.

This is a slow thread. I wonder if it means we have a small amount of people sailing with us. :cool1:
I heard from a travel agent that the Disney Cruises were slow booking out of Galveston Port. Disney signed a two year deal to sail out of Galveston and I hope they keep it as a port since it so close to home. I see a few of us on this thread are from Texas so if we keep sailing out of Galveston we can continue sailing with Disney. Sherry

We finally booked ours today. So excited! We're surprising our 4 & 6 year old and just telling them we're going to Galveston for vacation. Can't wait to see their expressions when we pull up to the boat. We plan to sign up for the FE but waiting for Disney to assign us our cabin.

What a great surprise for your kids. I think we set the last sign up date for the FEE as Oct 1st. Go ahead and sign up and fill in your room later. This is our first Disney Cruise. Is it yours also? It is getting close. Sherry:wave2:

Is anyone parking at the port in Galveston? We were thinking of having one of our kids drop us off since we are just 45 minutes away but am unsure of when to have them pick us up when we get back. How long does it take to get off the boat? Sherry

We are having my daughter drop us off and then pick us up. Since it is our first time, not sure about how long it takes. I have told her to be there around 10am to get us. Maybe someone who's cruised before will have more information for us newbies. :)

We are parking at the Port of Galveston and this is our first Disney Cruise so I'm not sure what to expect when it comes to the timing of getting off the boat.

Best to wait to see disembarkation on Saturday for an idea of how it will for this ship.

On RCCL generally everyone is off the ship by eleven but that is ,more pax.

I just checked parking and I see that there are at least two parking options when I googled it. I am still hoping that one of the kids can drop us off but it is soccer season for the grandkids. It's getting close if I am thinking of parking. Sherry
