I did the CP in 2010 (Merch) and have been home since January of 2011...last week I found out that I got a part time merch job at Fantasyland. I plan on asking them a bunch of questions at my on boarding appointment, but for anybody who may know the answers, I'd like to know sooner rather than later.
The first question: My On-Boarding appointment is Oct. 5th, but my recruiter said that the job starts Oct 14th. Does this mean that the week after the 5th, I will get all of my training (like Traditions, Once Upon a Time is Now, and Merchantainment) done and be ready to start my first shift on October 14th or that Traditions would be the 14th and so on...
Question 2: How long do I have to wait to pick up shifts? I have a place to stay, but I have to pay $100 a week and if they only schedule me three days like they said they would, I won't be able to survive, so I'll need to pick up shifts. Will I be able to pick up shifts as soon as I complete my merchantainment class or do I have to be there a certain amount of time before I can?
Question 3: Is it possible for them to schedule me more than 3 days? She put me down for full availability. I just want to know if I'll have to pick up shifts every week, or if it's possible that they'll give me plenty of shifts some weeks without me asking for extra.
Question 4: Does anybody need a roommate? Where I'm staying is almost an hour away and I'm looking for a place closer to the Disney Area.
Thanks!
