Welcome back home and thanks again for updating us with photos and mini reports throughout your stay. Those Premier Passports sure are beautiful - have fun using them. Are you far from DL?

No pole dancing, but she was a hoot. She and DD had fun laughing at the rest of us.

We live less than an hour from DL, and I work even closer than that so we frequently go in the evenings for dinner and people watching. It was a common date location for us, is where I proposed, and where we were married at the Grand Californian Hotel. Our DD has been going there since she was seven weeks old. She did great during the 10 days at WDW since she has had so much practice.

A big part of the excitement of the passes though is knowing that we will be back to WDW, and the WL in particular. We booked a bounce back to reserve the free dining, and if we time it right we can start that just after the current passes expire, then upgrade them again. We are looking at a possible AKL split stay in the Villas leading up to WL, and with the passes it could be a lower cost way to spend time there, but I would miss seeing Bay Lake as well. Oh so many options

AllEars confirms WCC menu changes:


Starting this week, Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge will be changing its menus. The most notable change is that the famous "all you care to eat" skillet will no longer be available at lunch. At dinner, the skillet will become a "platter", that will include your choice of three of five meats offered (choose from ribs, chicken, sliced beef, fish, smoked sausage) plus four side dishes (mixed vegetables, corn on the cob, mashed potatoes and baked beans). If you order platter "refills," you can choose any of the meats even if they were not one of the original three that you chose. Cornbread will still be included, but salad is not. A dessert sampler will also be included with dinner. (The platter is NOT offered at lunchtime.)

LuvGoldens or anyone else there now - can you confirm that WCC has changed the menu, effective tomorrow (9/19)? We have a lunch ADR there for skillets in 4 weeks, and may have to re-think since this is no longer going to be offered for lunch.

Even though we switched to POR for our October trip, I'm still longing for WL! Plotting for January!!!

As Kook confirmed above, yes WCC has removed the lunch skillet from the menu. I just went down to the restaurant to ask and talked to a CM. She kept telling me to fill in a comment card.

Is the Milkshake & smoothies still included? I like the idea of fish. But I wish there was still a salad.

We just checked out of VWL. Bittersweet; glad the trip isn't over, but this really is a lovely resort. DBF says that SO FAR it's his favorite to photograph. Now on to BWV!!

No problem! BTW, the milk shakes are still all-you-can-eat, but they're very thick. I always ask for mine w/o whipped cream so I can be sure to consume more of the ice cream

I have a question about the bounce back offers. We had a wonderful time at the WL at the end of August. We were upgraded from a woods view to a water view and it was beautiful. We were on the 5th floor of the south wing in a new room. We just loved it there. I never did see any bounce back offer left in our room I know several of you WL lovers were there at the same time, was there a bounce back offer given?

I know it is soon to talk about next year but we were talking about next year on our way back to the airport

If no bounce back offer existed, do you think there will be a FD offer next year at the end of August?

There was definitely a Free dining BB offer the end of August - my friend booked for next August. It might be worth calling the BB number asap and letting them know you were there and would have booked if the flyer had been in your room - have your reservation number handy, so they can verify you were there. This happened to another friend of mine last year and they did allow her to book - she was very nice and when the CM could not help she asked to speak with guest services and they did make the FD BB reservation for her. Good luck!
