The McSparklesons Sail the Magic... AGAIN! $500 Potato Chips! 3/13

Wow! Looks like a perfect day in Cozumel! :beach: We loved that island! You really get a good perspective on the size of the two ships in that photo - wow!

Nice family shots, too! I hope your itching is coming to an end.:flower3:

What a fun day. We so need to go there. My DH would love that swim up bar.

Hope you are doing better and the poison ivy is going away.

I thought the beach resort sounded expensive to start with but it looks like it was really good value for money in the end. Sounds like you had a really fantastic day. :)

What a relaxing day. You gotta love a swim-up pool bar.

I know, right!!!

Stil itching, but hoping for an end....

What a fun day!

Loved it!

Every time I think it's subsiding, I start itching again and a whole new patch appears....

We thought the same thing, but we were drinking fruity, frozen tropical drinks, easily $10/ea if purchased ala carte. And the food, it was also unlimited and it was really good! So we easily got our money's worth. And even though it filled up as the day progressed, it was never crowded. You saw the pool - that was as crowded as it got!

yea more trip report!!! Hope the poison ivy is all better Kara!

sigh.... Cozumel. One of my fave places in the whole world. aI adore that island.

We ended up doing Nachi and I will agree 100% that it was much quieter there - some might say a hair dead but we figured it was because of the weather. Nachi is about the same price and had great food and service and being limited in the number of people it was not crowded at all. we also had the swim up bar and the servers were great with the kids.

Glad to hear Mr. Sanchos was not too crowded. That was my biggest concern after reading all the reviews.

I dislike walking up and through the mall with all the people asking us to buy but love how easy the taxis are to get.

I think Mr. Sanchos next time.

Well, seems I'm having a terrible reaction to poison ivy..... Just when I think it's getting better, I break out even more. So between the prescription, plus the added Benadryl, I'm sleeping a lot, and when I'm awake, I'm scratching! So that's why I haven't posted..... I'm just a mess right now. Hope to get something done soon!!!

Yikes! That is horrible. I'm glad to hear that you are doing better.

Loved the update - what a fun beach day!!!! I especially like the all-inclusive drinks. :rolleyes1: We are doing our first Caribbean cruise in August 2013 - I'm really not interested in the excursions, but something like that might be fun. :confused3

The bleach is a Godsend!!!! I had a couple people on Facebook recommend it, too, so despite Jeff giving me "the eye," I tried it and after a split second of burning, it gets rid of the itch and really helps heal! I did it 3 times yesterday so decided to give my poor skin a break today and just use the steroid cream the Dr prescribed. Will bleach again tonight and hope I don't end up looking like Michael Jackson when this is all done.... :rotfl:

Oh, and I"m working on an update now!!!! ;)

So glad it helped!

Was there much to do near the dock? We are going to Czumel as well...and we plan to hi Margaritaville...got coupons for free drinks..and just hang in the area. I want to keep it cheap, but see a few sites if possible in the area and possibly shop/browse some stores.

I gotta say, the two places look so much alike- except Mr Sancho's has the cool waterpark. I would definitely choose that one next time- T&T wanted to play on that stuff sooooooo badly!!!!

Mr Sanchos looks cool we went to some place like it.. no clue what it was now its was like 4yrs ago? or something LOL But I love when they know to keep the drinks coming. And in my mind your teaching Allie right! 2 fisten is always the way to go! Less time standing at the bar ... lol

I definately prefer the smaller ship, the others are too top heavy.

Cozumel is one of my favorite places, love the neverending drinks for one price!

Another great thing to clear up poison ivy is to scrub it with lye soap. Me & three of my sons are highly allergic to it. One son had it all over his face so bad one time his eyes were swollen shut! That was terrible.

BTW how are your crabs? lol

Jeff researched home remedies and found the only thing that works. Table salt. Just wet the affected area, then apply plain old salt and scrub, then rinse. It relieves the itch for HOURS!!!! I also tried bleach, it worked well, too, but the salt is the best!!!! I keep an antihistimine spray in my purse in case I'm out and start itching, but I swear by the salt. In fact, I used it this morning at 8am after my shower and I'm still itch free at 1pm!!!!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'm done breaking out. My legs are covered in bruises from all the scratching I've done. It looks crazy!

I hadn't heard about using salt, sounds like a good tip to know. I got a patch of poison ivy on my wrist earlier this summer. Just about drove me crazy for two weeks. My DH is immune to poison ivy, I hate him for that!:rolleyes2

I hate him too! :rotfl2: And yes, the salt has been a lifesaver..... Today is Day 16 and the first day I have not treated it. STill some breakouts but not itchy and no new patches so I do think I"m on the mend.... But I am SOOOOO bruised all over from scratching. I mean, seriously bruised. So between that and the welts, I look like some crazy Halloween creature!!! :lmao:

I almost feel like I could cancel my cruise now and save us a few grand! I wonder if my kids would agree?? :rotfl2:

In Cozumel the all inclusive look AWESOME! Was the taxi $25 each?

You had a great day in Cozumel! DH and I went there on a Cruise for our HM and it was a really nice island. Glad Mr Sancho's wasn't too crowded.

It was $5pp each way and there were 5 of us in the van. And because I prepurchased the Mr Sanchos tickets, we saved $5pp that way, so I figure we rode "free" one way. That's my Disney math..... ;)

I did like Cozumel. When we go this year, we have no plans, may just wing it when we get there and hop a taxi, or just hang out at the port.....

When we got back on the ship after a full day of all inclusive eats and drinks in Cozumel, let's just say, I was ready for bed. But, noooooo!

Jeff told me to "Put the plow in the ground" and keep on going....

OK, so here we go.

It was pirate night, so you know what that means....

AARRGGHH!!!!

DSC_0761.jpg

Time to get some pirate grub and of course, time for pirate bandannas....

DSC_0760.jpg

Something that they did differently this cruise, from last year, was to bring out big trays of "special" drinks for kids each night. Then they got to guess what was in each one.... Ally is really trying to figure it out....

DSC_0763.jpg

Tori has some food allergies and it was great to see how they took time every night to discuss the menu with Tammi....

DSC_0766.jpg

Ally started with the Jerk Chicken Salad
jerk seasoned chicken strip over fresh crispy greens with a citrus dressing and plantain chips

DSC_0767.jpg

Someone ordered the The Buccaneer’s Sun Ripened Pineapple
Fresh Island Pineapple with a Coconut covered Banana and Orange Glaze

DSC_0768.jpg

And I got the Blackbeard’s Jumbo Crab Cake
With a fruit Salsa and Honey-Lime Tropical Coleslaw

DSC_0769.jpg

I think Jeff tried the Chilled to the bone Honeydew Melon and Watermelon Soup

DSC_0770.jpg

Ally ordered the Castaway Chicken Breast
Rubbed with Pirate Island Spice, Rice and Beans and Fried Okra on rich Spiced Glaze

DSC_0771.jpg

I ordered the Treasure-of-the-Seas Grilled Shrimp and Seared Scallops
served on strings of pasta and fresh creamy tomato sauce

DSC_0772.jpg

And Jeff ordered the Jack Sparrow’s Barbecue Marinated Beef Short Ribs
Rubbed beef short ribs with tamarind-barbecue sauce served with onion red bliss mashed potatoes and plantain chip

DSC_0773.jpg

And you know what else happens on pirate night!

We dance!

DSC_0774.jpg

DSC_0775.jpg

DSC_0778.jpg

For dessert Jeff ordered Walk the Triple Layered Chocolate Gangplank Cake
And fall into a rich Chocolate Sauce

DSC_0779.jpg

And someone ordered the Pirates of the Caribbean's Sweet Temptations
A trio of Shiver-me-Timbers white chocolate cheesecake , rum barbossa, walk the triple layered chocolate gangplank cake

DSC_0780.jpg

We hadn't seen these little buggers the whole cruise and Ally was VERY upset they were not at breakfast, so of course we just HAD to stop and see them!

DSC_0784.jpg

DSC_0782.jpg

And then just who did I have to see? Oh, you know......

DSC_0786.jpg

Let's just say that Ally was NOT happy with me after seeing me and Capt Jack together.....

DSC_0788.jpg

DSC_0790.jpg

Next thing you know, we are walking along, just minding our own business when this WENCH swings by and grabs Ally's beads right off her neck! Darn pirates!!!!

DSC_0791.jpg

Now the one nice thing about early dining is that it's much easier to find a good spot for Pirate Party..... Last year we were about 10 rows deep and had a tough time seeing much. This year was nicer, we just headed up on deck to relax before the party started.....

DSC_0795.jpg

But I was getting REALLY tired....

Did I mention the all-inclusive drinks all day long????

Tammi and I were about to fall over, so thought maybe a drink would help us.....

Jeff: Put the plow in the ground, ladies!!! We still have a party to attend!

Hmmmm, maybe something light.....

DSC_0798.jpg

DSC_0796.jpg

I think this will do.

So we sipped our drinks.... one after the other.... and yes, there were several. Just keeping the plow in the ground!!!!!

That was when I fell overboard... Just kidding!

But I think that might have been a good thing.

Up next..... Still plowing!
