I hae to say, I was really excited to log in this morning and see an update from you, Queen! I love reading your TRs.


FoW does sound really interesting, and that eagle was gorgeous. It's something I've been meaning to see.

I can't believe KS had that long of a wait, maybe the rinos were being stubborn even while you waited for a vehicle.


Glad your lunch was yummy and escaping the heat for a bit is always a wonderful thing.


(If the rumors are true about FoTLK, I think I'll spend a day in mourning. How can they take away the best show in WDW?)

I've heard the rumors about FOTLK ending too. I guess because of Avatar Land coming? So I'm making sure we catch it next week just in case it really does end.

I, too, was thrilled to see an update. Sorry things have been so crazy busy. Sometimes that happens!

Loved the update. What a great morning in AK. You got some lovely pictures. I can't believe your wait for the Safari was almost 2 hours. That is CRAZY! So glad you met a nice couple to talk with and pass the time.

I am so glad you liked Flights of Wonder. That show would probably be too much for Jeff. He would be flipping out. If he ever wanted to do an immersion (or whatever its called) to get over his bird phobia, that would be the place.

Hi Queen! I too have been neglectful! Being back into the swing of things at work after 2 months off is always tough. But........I HAVE A TICKER!!!!! My husband and I are doing Disney for the first time without kids and are expecting a much different vacation at the world. We will be dining at Yak and Yeti which we love and for the first time - Kona and Ohana! Cannot wait. that on top of Food and Wine.....
So a quick question for you. When we were there last there was talk of strictly enforcing the return times on the fastpasses to the times that are on the ticket. Is that happening now? That will determine some of our park time I am thinking.
This trip is very much needed as we had no away time this summer, our Bombers are bombing and my beloved Jets are sidelined along with the rest of the NHL. But we have our Goldeyes to rep the city thank goodness.

Me too! It has become one of our favourites and I really can't emphasize enough how great Khan was....exceptional!

I can't believe I have fallen so far behind on this TR!

That's okay. I can't believe I've fallen so far behind in reading them! I have (after this one) four more chapters on three other TRs I have to get to. But I'm getting to this one first!

This lovely morning would be taking us to AK! Not our favourite park but we do enjoy it! If we do nothing but FOTLK there I am a happy girl but Shanleigh had other plans!

Do you remember when it didn't matter if she had other plans or not... cause she wasn't old enough to make her own decisions?

Shanleigh and I were going to be coming to spend some time at this pool before the end of our vacation....or at least that was the plan!

Hmmmm..... does that mean you never did? Hopefully it's because you were having too much fun!

Let The Memories Begin....how true is this! When I think back on all of our many trips (yes, we are truly blessed) watching my daughter grow up in our pictures from the World, made me a little misty this morning!

But you could pick a plan and not be usurped!

Had to grab a picture with the Tree of Life but didn't have time to wait for a PP...grab one shot and run!

After a great ride we decided we should head over to KS...this would be such a mistake! Never, in all the years that we'd come to this park have we ever waited to do this adventure! Today, start to finish, almost 2 hours....it was brutal.

Wow! 2 hours! I better be able to pet a lion for that kind of wait.

On second thought, maybe not a lion.... I'm not ready to be called 'lefty', yet.

We were trying to decide what to do after and it was then that I remembered my friend Mary Ellen (MEK) posting pictures about Flights of Wonder...yup, never have seen it so we headed over! Thank you so much Mary Ellen, it was such a great show!

OMG! I don't believe it! Something we had done that you hadn't! That's a first! It is a good show, isn't it?

Isn't he gorgeous....the bird, people, the bird!

Right. The bird. Uh huh. Sure.

Shanleigh thought of Jeff while we were here and how he would be flailing away with the birds flying overhead....it was then that we decided on our next trip we would arrive early and sit right where all the birds fly over just to watch Jeff!

ps... do not let him hold a fly swatter.

We both decided to have the same thing....Shrimp Lo Mein....oh my word was it delicious, but we could definitely have easily split this...way too much food!

That picture is amazing. It looks sooooo good. Yummm.... shrimp. I would order that for DW and myself... of course she's allergic so I'd have to eat it all by myself.... but it's a sacrifice I'd be willing to make... for her... of course.

After our lunch it was time to head over to my favourite attraction (which I've heard rumours could be leaving ) FOLTK.

I never take my camera out here, I just sit and watch and sing at the top of my lungs, much to Shanleigh's embarrassment

You still haven't told her that that's why we have kids in the first place?

Growing up in Disney is the best way. It's great to have such memories to look back on and pictures to document it all. Our Disney trips have been some of our best times and we have so many stories that we talk about all the time. I can understand why you would get misty.

You are so funny! If we did have that awful four letter word happen, we did not see it! I saw on the weather network that Kenora had some snow falling. We had horrid winds here tho ... I was keeping my fingers crosses that the big tree we have in our backyard was still going to be standing when I got home from work and it was!

Couldn't agree more! I love when we get out the old photo albums, especially the first trip, she was so little and so adorable (not that she isn't now, but different....you know what I mean) We had them out a couple of weeks ago and she said "oh great, the unfortunate looking years" I cracked up. She calls the years between 8 and 10 the unfortunate looking years...she said I was chubby, had bad hair and I needed braces in the worst way....I thought she was beautiful always!

Another week has passed and I do recall saying something about things slowing down...I lied! It was one of those weeks and yesterday was spent with Shanleigh at the hair salon, then the grocery store, then home to laundry, dusting vacuuming, then had my sister and her kiddies over (Geodoc was working evenings) and Shan went out to a makeup party! So much for a relaxing Saturday!

Anyhoodle, any day that I get to spend with my daughter and my sister and her family is a great day so I'm gonna stop complaining! I thought I should finish up our AK day so here goes!

After standing and sitting for 2 hours we decided we should stand and walk some more and Shanleigh was dying to do Pangani so off we went. I gladly gave the camera over to her as she was in a mood to take pictures. Forgive me, I can't for the life of me remember what this species is called and someone is still getting their beauty sleep so I can't ask her either!

Ok, this one is easy....see the turtle everyone

Neither of us could get over the size of these frogs!

Shanleigh thought this bird was beautiful and I loved how the picture turned out with the fish!

Then it was off to see these magnificent creatures! We spent over an hour here, neither of us could get enough of them!

Shanleigh was concerned this one had passed away as she couldn't see the chest rising and falling but all was well, he was sleeping!

Look at that face.....isn't he something!

We then went to the other side where he came wandering down and was people watching, we thought this was so funny!

Then we saw Lily, she made her way up here and then fell out, she was too cute!

She made her way over to the container and started playing it like a drum...at that point everyone came over to watch and I'm sure you all know what happened. People are so incredibly rude and think as long as I get my shot that's all that matters! We just waited it out ......

One of the females came over and decided it was time for a treat so off she went up the tree...Lily followed at first then decided to come back down.

Isn't this the cutest picture of her...waiting for her lunch we thought! After our fill of the gorillas we headed to the buses! It had clouded over so we decided no sense in heading back to the resort to the pool cause it looked like rain. Shanleigh thought we should take the bus to the Yacht and Beach Club and have our own little treat at Beaches and Cream so that's what we did!

We made it to the bus without the skies opening but by the time we were almost at the Yacht Club it was pouring! We got off the bus there and thought we would just enjoy the lobby until the rain subsided! Then it was off to one of our favourite little places on property!

I was surprised the place wasn't packed but it worked well for us! We were going to spllit something until Shanleigh decided she just had to have a peanut butter sundae, not the No Way Jose, she thought that would be too big for her to eat on her own!

I decided on the Milky Way Sundae and really didn't care if I could finish it or not, I love that sundae and it didn't disappoint! It hardly looked like I put a dent in in at the end but I enjoyed what I had!

Shanleigh's peanut butter sundae....we had to sit with one seat between us, then she was to hand sanitize and not come near me until she does!

We had such a great day and now the sun was starting to peak out again so we headed to the boat! We decided we would just take it to HS and then the bus from there!

Those pictures of the gorillas are great. They were so active the day you visited them, and Lily is just too cute! We have a baby gorilla at our local zoo, and I catch myself spending all morning just watching him play and explore.


Good decision on heading to the Yacht Club. Can't go wrong with Beach and Cream, and you ordered my favorite! The Milky Way...it's nearly impossible to finish by yourself, but it's a lot of fun to try.
