Resort Dilemma

We currently have CSR booked for 12/29 - 1/5 and we love this resort. However, I was just made aware of availability at the BCV for 1/1 - 1/6 with a similar cost per night. So now we are really rethinking our choices... (I'll try to make this as simple as I can). If we chose the BCV option we would have push our dates forward by one day. Instead of leaving on a Saturday and coming home on a Saturday, we’d leave on a Sunday and come home on a Sunday. My wife doesn’t like the idea of coming back on a Sunday then going to work the very next day :confused3. Also, since the BCV is only available for 5 nights and our trip is 7 nights, we’d have to split our stay. Again, not a huge deal, but we’ll be traveling with a 9 month old and I can’t say I’m looking forward to packing up mid-trip and moving. I have also read some complaints about the BCV being a little tired and not in the best condition…and you don’t get mousekeeping.

However, on the flip side, we can get a BCV per night rate for the same as CSR. The location is also extremely appealing. For the last 5 days of our trip, we’ll be a short distance away from Epcot and DHS which is great for afternoon breaks.

Ahh! Choices! Any advice is appreciated.

Never stayed at either one but we are staying BC next year. I would not stay at BCV if it was the same in price because I have seen pictures and yes they do seem very tired and in need of a makeover. Good luck!

DO IT!!!!! Villas are great. It can save money on food if you choose to eat in for some meals. It also keeps you close by in case 9 month old needs to nap. You are a boat ride away from EPCOT and DHS. There is so much to do in that area. Never stayed at either, but for the same cost, totally worth it.

We love the Boardwalk area and love the Beach Club resort. We love that you can walk to EPCOT and the boat to HS. I would change rooms! Enjoy!

I love CSR but I would have to say BCV!!!

I love visiting the Boardwalk every trip even though we have not stayed there.

I love that area so much that I booked BWV this January.

Crescent Lake is beautiful and I also love taking the boat around. Very relaxing and love Campfire and Movies on Beach...

I just got back from CSR and do really like the resort. I did notice this year that there was some noticeable wear in elevators (Ranchos 6B), but our room was nice. Lots of walking, though. We stayed at Beach Club last year (not villas) and I did not think it was worth the money (peak season). However, the kids loved and still talk about Stormalong Bay and if I had such young kids (and the price was similar) I would stay at BCV. The main reason is location. Being able to walk/boat to 2/4 parks is HUGE with small kids. Weather can be really cold in Jan/Feb, so that might factor in as well. Closer is better. The Mousekeeping issue is not a big one. You can easily get clean towels when needed. Let us know what you decide.

We've stayed at BC many times, but not BCV. I can't imagine not taking advantage of being in such a special location. Convenient to so much, such a beautiful area and hotel..I could go on and on...

All places are so nice but, for the same price as a moderate, this is an opportunity I'd take 100 out of 100 times.

JMHO, but regardless of which you choose I know you'll have a wonderful stay.

Personally we do not care for CSR but with that said we would hate to return from a major vacaction and have to work the next day. You need some down time because of the fact the we always make our VACATIONS into a major experience that is more exhausting than our jobs. Honestly most of us need down time from our vacations. With that said and the fact of changing resorts we would say no go. Stay with original plan. JMHO. Wishing you a very magical trip. pixiedust: :thumbsup2

I'd vote for the Beach club for all the above listed reasons and more!

In previous post I mentioned the issue of going back to work the next day after arriving home. Does that apply to both you and DW? If not take that into consideration. If only you are the one going to work the next day then by all means you can take one for the TEAM but I personally wouldn't ask this of my DW to change plans already in place that didn't require this. I still don't wouldnt like the resort transfer which can be a hassle but that is up for you both to decide. The grass is not always greener. Stay with your original plans and let her be happy also.

Its a no brainer for me. BCV all the way. We didnt care for CSR as its too spread out. I agree with all of the above but there is a down side. If you take the upgrade you will always want to stay at BC YC BW etc from then on. I would keep your dates the way you have them planned and split the stay. Its nice to see the comparison too.
