Emmysdaddy Accompanies the Damsels & Yes, He Posed with Princesses 2/2 Completed

LOL the old Beverly trick. I am such a weirdo because I don't mind it, but I would not go our of my way for it. I am going to have my friend try it when we go hahaha!

That will be even funnier if you get a friend to try the Beverly and you taste it and honestly say it isn't that bad. :rolleyes1

I too have never seen a photo with Jane before! She looks adorable.

Michael looks like he is being such a good sport! He managed to pose with a non-princess and was subjected to the Beverly trick and survived. Granted it's only the first day :lmao:.
Hi Roma! Yes, it was still early in the trip for posing with characters but he did fine. As for the Beverly trick...what can I say? I'm a little evil!

Ha-Ha on the Soda's!! I think hubby and I tried them all before but I didn't get any photos of our reactions.

I love your second to last photo. Where was that taken?

Hi Paula. That old time camera shot was taken in France near the bridge to go to England/UK.

If you like a spicy Bloody, you should check this out(this is non-alcoholic, just add vodka):

We were there the same day you were in Epcot -after sampling several Margarita's my DW put on a brilliant performance with the Ziti Sisters, by the way. This stuff was pure heaven -the bartender( who apparently had too much tequila the night before) let us have a sample as he was making one for himself as a remedy. I'm with you on the clamato -I like seafood, but I'm not understanding it as a breakfast drink(?).

Loving the report!
Thanks Gan. I checked out the recipe and yes, that does look like a spicy drink with the 6 serrano peppers!!! Sounds bitter, spicy and exotic all at the same time.

Ahhh a performance with the Ziti Sisters - how fun!!!

I have to be completely honest in that *I* have never had Beverly...never even knew about it before Dis.

I already had plans (which DH is in on :rotfl2:) to get my older kids to try Beverly. I plan to video it, but then, being a good mom, I will try it myself...after them of course! (Really, I will :thumbsup2)

So, you say it tastes bitter, huh? It may not bother DH & I then b/c we drink 100% Noni juice which is INCREADIBLY bitter. So now I am curious to try.

Taking pics with Bruce is always fun :)

Hi Debra! Ok, you may not think the Beverly is that bad then. But it would be very interesting to know your reaction and of course your kids! Please let us know.

We skipped the cola tasting before, but I have been to the Coca-Cola place in Atlanta (where I'm originally from!) and ewwwwwww… there are SEVERAL types of soda that is just GROSS! Although, when I was in Germany, I LOVE their Coke! It tastes better than our Coke, I think! :thumbsup2

Isn't Atlanta also the HQ of Coke? I've been in the Coca-Cola world in Vegas but haven't tried anythig...Speaking of the product in other countries, I actually didn't like "diet" coke in Mexico. It was rather like Coke light and didn't taste that great.

Just made my way over from the dining review boards to get caught up! I loved reading the Beverly part (and I still think it's hilarious that you got an assist from random strangers - "monkeys and rainbows", wow ). And your pictures from the Epcot resort area and The Seas are beautiful.

Can't wait for the next update! ;)

It was so funny that this couple saw what I was trying to do to Em and came over and helped out. Of course it meant that I had to try the vile stuff myself too.

Next update on it's way and you make your grand entrance!

It looks like you had a nice, mellow time in EPCOT. I love the pictures with Bruce the shark. The only ones I have are blurry- camera did not know where to focus- and we don't get to the Seas with Nemo often :(

That's cool that Michael and Em successfully funded her bedroom makeover at the Piggy Bank game.

Speaking of cool...

:woohoo: on having a new victim for Beverly!!!

Your lunch at Tokyo Dining sounds lovely and the pictures of your meals were excellent!!! I don't hear much about this place, but the reviews I have read are always very positive.

Hi Dee! My concept photo for Bruce didn't turn out but it was fun.

Yes, my new Beverly victim will be more cautious next time I get excited to have him try something.

As for TD, it was our second time to eat there and it was nice if you still want Japanese without the teppan grill. I suppose TE is still more popular since it appeared you could get walk ups at TD both times we were there but not TE.

I've never been to Tokyo Dining, but now I want to! Your lunch looks great!

:rotfl: at Michael's personal rain shelter! Very convenient! :thumbsup2

Hi Sarah! Maybe whenever your first post wedding trip will be you can book TD and see what you think. :)

I'm finally all caught up. I hate it when real life gets in the way of reading my friend's trip reports. LOL!!

I'm had to laugh when you mentioned your Michael trying Beverly. I don't think mine remembers how horrid it is. I'm hoping to get him to try it. I really want Chris to try it though!! LOL!! I'm such a mean mommy.... :lmao:

I love the pictures from Nemo. We've never been and that's probably one of the rides I'm looking forward to most. I could spend hours and hours looking at the fish in the tanks. Especially the dolphins. They have been and always will be my favorite sea mammal. ;)

Can't wait to read about your Dis Meets.

Sunday August 19, 2012: Day 2 – Part 3

After a couple of hours back at the room to rest & relax we headed back out. We had our first Dis-meet – with none other than Mr. DonaldDoleWhip!!! We walked to the BW bus stop to catch a bus to MK at 6:30 – there was a bus just loading and leaving so we had about 15 minutes until the next bus arrived. We took some time to take a few photos.

Those crazy kids are at it again!
DSC_0441.jpg

During the ride to the park we noticed a storm that appeared to be moving exactly where we were headed. Only problem with this is that we had left the rain ponchos back at the room and I didn’t exactly want to arrive at my first Dis-meet soaking wet. (Ha, that happened later anyway as you likely know!) So with that we hustled from the bus stop to the park entrance and made it just in time for it to start to downpour! Not a problem, the gift shop stand at the entrance to the park sold rain ponchos.

Buckets of rain!
DSC_0447.jpg

We had arranged to meet Mr. DDW at 8pm by which time the rain had passed. I was so excited to finally meet this young man and when he came up and introduced himself I hope it wasn’t too awkward for him but I rather danced in place and then went in for the hug! The poor guy didn’t have a chance! We took a few minutes to chat and he gave me the honor of sharing a sneak peek photo of his heads on prawns dish at Jiko! Interestingly, Em and Michael had no context for this Dis-meet since they are not on the Dis Boards, nor do they know the joys of reading dining reviews. However, from the time they were introduced to DDW they were very happy that this meeting had been arranged!!

Before we moved on, I needed to get some photos texted to Jabead!!! Mr. DDW gave his full and complete authorization for the following photos. Honestly, I didn’t want to spoil the mystery surrounding Mr. DDW but I am thrilled to be the one that he allowed to perform the big reveal!

1st photo – Such a perfect shirt!
DDW1.jpg

2nd photo – And yes Barb it was a teaser photo!!!
DDW2.jpg

3rd photo – And here he is!!
DDW3.jpg

I was very happy to hear from Jabead that she was posting the photos for us!

PrincessBetsy was scheduled to be working at Splash Mtn until later that night so we decided to see if we could meet up with her and introduce ourselves. The ride had been closed temporarily due to lightening but it was re-opening shortly so we didn’t have a long wait. In fact, I was rather glad that we had to wait for it to reopen so that we had longer to chat. I asked the CM at the entrance to the ride if Betsy was currently working – she was! We didn’t see her when we were queueing through the line but we’d ask for her after we got off the ride. DDW and I took the front seat of the ride and Michael and Em were seated directly behind us. All was fun and happy and dry until….the flume – which I fully expect to be “splashed” as the name of the ride implies. However, when we went down the flume not only did we get the splash but we got a drenching because at that moment we learned that it had started to downpour again! Sheesh! As refreshing as the rain felt, it was not necessarily welcome since I didn’t want to be soaked and soggy for the evening.

Before the Splash soaking:

During the Splash soaking:

When we got off the ride we asked for Betsy, who was on break. She was kind enough to meet with us and we were only able to chat for a minute or two. We did get a photo of the three of us before moving on.

After the Splash soaking:
DSC02330.jpg

I was certain that I would see her again over the course of the next 10 days but we didn’t see her again so I was a little bummed that we didn’t get to spend a little more time with her. (I still follow her DR and blog. Here's DDW's current DR.

While DDW and I were speaking with Betsy, Michael assessed my need for either a change of clothing or a huge blow dryer. Since neither were available, DH bought me a towel at the gift shop since I was soaked – more in the back than the front since I had a rain poncho wrapped around my camera in the front offering some protection from a forward assault by the rain.

The Wishes fireworks show was starting as we were leaving Splash Mtn so we watched them from that area of the park. I was quite impressed that Mr. DDW knew the fireworks show so well as he could help me direct my video camera in the proper direction for the various elements of the show!

Following the fireworks we decided to get something to eat. It was EMH and MK was open until midnight so we still had a few options open. While we were walking through Frontierland I was surprised to hear someone say my name and see that it was Disneyfreak616 – Kristen! A completely unexpected and glorious frump sighting!!! Kristen’s sister and mom were patiently standing by as I was blabbering on about how exciting this was to meet her. Poor Sarah was probably thinking, “what’s up with this crazy lady who knows my name?” We posed for a photo and then parted ways. And may I say that she is as cute and adorable as her photo.

DSC02346.jpg

Time to move on to food…. I may have suggested one of my favorite spots in MK…. Or I may have just assumed that everyone would follow my lead and merrily led the group to Cosmic Rays. Whatever the reality of the situation we ended up at Cosmic Rays. Unfortunately, they were starting to close down some of the food bays so our choices immediately became limited but it was all good since we were able to try some new items. I won’t go into all the details of dinner here but my dining review link contains all the fun and photos of our shared meal with Mr. DDW. And may I say once again, it was a complete honor and privilege to break bread with this young man!!!

Since the park was open until midnight we still had plenty of time for some rides/attractions. We decided (again, not sure about this “we” stuff since I think I thought I was commander Brenda and just said hey, let’s go here or do that there…Someone can correct me if I’m wrong) to do the People Mover followed by Carousel of Progress – oh wait.. As DDW pointed out, Carousel of Progress was not part of the EMH attractions that were open late. Darn. But we did enjoy the People Mover.

Buzz was calling out to us next – we headed to Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin. I thought I had done so well on the ride but as you can see from the photo, I was only a Space Cadet and DDW had attained the level of Galactic Hero!!!! Just for the record, I like the laser guns at DL better since you can remove them from the base and aim better. And yes, I know the secret to getting the high score but I’m rarely successful.

We took a few photopass photos before we called it a night around midnight. I was super bummed to have to part ways since my entire family had such a great time with DDW. We walked out and said our goodbyes after which we hopped on the YC/BC bus since it arrived before the BW bus. (Thanks for the hint Mr. DDW.)

Dis-Meet #1 with Mr. DDW completed with a guest appearances by PrincessBetsy (Betsy) who is #2 and Disneyfreak616 (Kristen) who was #3 this day!!

Good morning Michelle!! Just when you were posting I was updating so now you have to get caught up again!! :rotfl2: I know what you mean about staying on top of these things!

The Seas area is so nice and it's indoors with the AC - I love it. Em parked herself for a long time by the tanks just enjoying it.

I hope you have a great day!

All caught up again! Really enjoying your reviews Brenda and it looks like you had a fabulous evening playing and dining in the MK with DDW! And how awesome to meet 3 different DIS'ers in the same evening! :cool1:

Your Dismeet evening sounds great despite the soaking! Your DH is a sweetie getting you a towel!

Kristen is very cute as well! Does she have a TR?!? I guess I will have to go look!

It looks like you had a great evening that night with the Dis Meets. When I read your DR a few days ago on Cosmic Rays, it was so nice to put a face with Mr DDW.

Sorry about all the downpours, but it seems you all made the best of it. Afterall, doesnt every WDW trip include rain at some point? :rotfl2:

Wow, you had such fun DisMeets that evening!!!! I'm so jealous!!

Glad to hear that Cosmic Rays got a thumbs up from DDW! Melted cheese is a great accompaniment to any dish! :thumbsup2

Aww yay that's me!!! You are too sweet. :goodvibes I was soo SO excited to meet you, your family, and Mr. DDW of course! What a great evening. :)

:woohoo:

What an awesome night with some great meet-ups! 3 in one night! WOW!

The second picture of you and Em at the BW looks like a green screen. Love your colorful dresses and you two are really the focus of that picture!

It sounds like you had a lot of fun with DDW, both riding and dining. Thanks for your review of the meal at Cosmic Rays. I haven't quite warmed up to that place yet. But then again, I haven't seen Sonny Eclipse or used the condiments bar.

The flash on Buzz Lightyear is so blinding - I can never keep my eyes fully open for the picture. :rotfl: And one more thing - those titles on our picture are wrong! Based on this score chart, a star cadet only scored 1000 points or less (you were much higher than that - you were at least a Planetary Pilot), and a galactic hero scored the maximum amount (999,999 points), which I definitely didn't do. In fact, you beat me by a large margin, even though I had home court advantage. :lmao:

As usual, beautiful pics (that rain shot is awesome!). The Splash Mountain pic has me laughing since we all reacted in such different ways. Even though I was smiling, I was so worried that I'd drop the bag containing my camera, phone, and wallet. Michael looks so chill - I'm impressed. :thumbsup2

Overall, it was an incredible night. :goodvibes I had such a fun time with all of you, and it was awesome that we got to meet Betsy and Kristen as well!

Hi guys! I'm trying to update tonight since I will be out of town attending a conference for a few days. Not sure if I will have time to update.... so my apologies in advance for being a bad Diser!

All caught up again! Really enjoying your reviews Brenda and it looks like you had a fabulous evening playing and dining in the MK with DDW! And how awesome to meet 3 different DIS'ers in the same evening! :cool1:

Yes, it was a delightful evening! Cosmic Rays and Buzz Lightyear will not be the same for me without DDW! ;)

Your Dismeet evening sounds great despite the soaking! Your DH is a sweetie getting you a towel!

Kristen is very cute as well! Does she have a TR?!? I guess I will have to go look!

Hi Paula! Yes, DH was sweet but I think he was more worried about ahem ... modesty issues.

Yes, Kristen is adorable!!! She has several TR and DRs - here's the latest. You won't be able to stop reading so make sure that you have plenty of time to spend hearing about the various adventures of the frumps and her family.

It looks like you had a great evening that night with the Dis Meets. When I read your DR a few days ago on Cosmic Rays, it was so nice to put a face with Mr DDW.

Hi Debra! Ha! You are correct, Florida and rain just go together.

Wow, you had such fun DisMeets that evening!!!! I'm so jealous!!

Glad to hear that Cosmic Rays got a thumbs up from DDW! Melted cheese is a great accompaniment to any dish! :thumbsup2

So funny that I'm not a cheese goo lover - I thought. And yet I eat it with nachos at the movies and apparently now I eat it on chili cheese fries. ::yes::

Aww yay that's me!!! You are too sweet. :goodvibes I was soo SO excited to meet you, your family, and Mr. DDW of course! What a great evening. :)

Hi Kristen!!! I'm glad you were a special guest in my TR!!! You will be making a repeat appearance so hang in there! :thumbsup2

:woohoo:

Hi Dee! I looked back at the BW photo and you're right it does look like a green screen! Weird!

Heck, Sonny Eclipse makes all the difference in your dining experience. ;) Now that I have expanded my horizons beyond the chicken I may try something new in the future.

Thanks for that Buzz information, I didn't think I was that horrible but heck, even a Space Ranger can have an off day when it comes to battling Zurg! You can challenge me to a rematch anytime!!! :lmao:

I thought the ride photo at Splash was interesting too - Em apparently thought her purse would protect her from the rain or perhaps she confused it with an umbrella. :confused3 However, that wasn't as bad as me thinking I could scrunch my eyes and it would stop me from getting wet! But you and Michael handled the soaking much better than us girls. :)

Thanks again for hanging out with us. Em says hi! :wave2:

Monday August 20, 2012: Day 3 – Part 1

Michael and Em were sleeping in so I grabbed my camera and decided to tour the resort and then grab some breakfast at the Boardwalk Bakery and bring it back to the room. I thoroughly enjoyed the quiet of the morning and toured the main pool area – unfortunately, the metal doors were down for the Leaping Libations bar area so I couldn’t get a peek at the bar menu. Sorry Jabead, I didn’t accomplish #15) Check out Leaping Libations to see if they now have a Specialty Drink menu or if it is still the standard Disney pool bar menu. Have at least one drink to sip while you are relaxing by the pool.

After my tour of the resort, I headed to the Boardwalk Bakery. I’m so glad that I had an opportunity to make a meal out of their fine baked goods!! Here’s a link to my review of Boardwalk Bakery.

Following breakfast the only thing that got our butts in gear was the fact that we had an 11:30am ADR at Yak & Yeti for lunch. Otherwise, we may have resembled the grandparents in Willy Wonka and stayed in bed all day! :lmao:

We hoped on the AK bound bus around 10:40am and after a stop at Blizzard Beach we were dropped off at our destination. Since we only had about 15 minutes before our lunch ADR we didn’t have time to do much other than pose for a few photos and go straight to the restaurant.

Back to the bus stop:

And then we actually got on a bus:

I love your morning tour of the Boardwalk area! Love your picture of the reflection of the resort in the small pool. I haven't spent much time there, but what a cute, well-themed area!

Haven't been to the BW Bakery, so I appreciated your review. Boy, you can't go wrong with pastries at Disney!

Looks like a beautiful morning, both at BW and AK- hope that continues for awhile.

Even though you were rushing a bit to get to lunch, you got some nice pictures along the way.

Hey Brenda
The good thing about jet-lag is that I get to catch up with your TR :)
Loving the photos and it's so cool that you got to meet so many great DISers
Looks like you all had a wonderful time

Hi Dee! I think that ff they put Stormalong Bay at BW and swapped Flying Fish for Yachtsman, it would be the perfect resort!!

Amen! Can't go wrong with pastries at Disney - that is a true statement!! :thumbsup2
