We plan on being at the MK for Rope drop but then have to leave for our 10:45am ADR breakfast at Ohana. Not sure what time we'll need to leave the park to make sure we arrive on time. I def don't wanna miss our breakfast. TIA!!!

Well, the timing can vary greatly. If you use the resort monorail, best case - a monorail pulls in when you are walking up to the station, then it makes the two stops at CR and TTC and gets you to Poly in about 15 minutes. Worst case - you just miss the monorail and wait about 10-15 minutes for the next one, but then they need to bring another monorail on (or take one off) and you wait 20-30 minutes for that to happen before your monorail can even move, and then you have the 15 minute ride - so you could end up with an hour.

If it were me, and I didn't want to miss my meal, I'd be inclined to use either the express monorail or the ferry and walk from the TTC. The express monorail goes away from the switch where monorails come on and go off the beams which minimizes that possibility, plus there aren't any other stops between MK and TTC. The wait is longer sometimes for the ferry, but you can kind of eyeball it as you exit the park and if there is one just about to pull in, go for it. I would say the express monorail would be at maximum a ten minute wait and a five minute ride. The ferry (if you catch one just coming in) would be about fifteen minutes or so. Then allow 10-15 to walk from the TTC to the GCH at Poly.

Unless MK is having EMH that morning, you aren't going to be able to do much before you leave the park. I would allow at least 30-45 minutes regardless of what transportation you choose.

Fla4fun has made some good points. You're not going to get all that much done at MK if you have a 1045 booking as you will have to give yourself maybe 30-45 mins so you're not rushing. The express monorail DOESN'T stop at any of the resorts so make sure you don't get that one so I'd say from MK to Poly about 10 mins journey time.

The reason I suggested the Express monorail is that it goes directly from MK to the TTC, and you can walk from the TTC to Poly. Sometimes that is faster than taking the resort monorail, which makes two stops, especially if you just miss a resort monorail, but the express is coming into the station.

That's the great thing about the Poly - it has so many transportation options available.

Wow! Thanks for the info!!

I'm not sure if there's EMH that day, I'll have to check my schedule ( but I don't think there are). Might just skip rooe drop, sleep a little later and hit the park after the only ADR I could get us for an Ohana breakfast.

Thanks again for the info!

Isn't there a boat from the MK to the Poly (with a stop at the GF on the way?) You have options, and could choose whatever looks like it will be quickest as you are walking towards the transportation!

I would take the boat from MK to the Poly and I would plan to be on the dock by 10:00 AM. It will briefly stop at the GF, but it's still faster than the monorail in my opinion. :)

There is a small boat, but it typically takes the longest time of any of the options. We use it when we don't care about being in a hurry. It also stops at GF on the journey - it makes kind of a circle.

Got to disagree with you timing on that one. Over 20 years at the Poly and the resort boat beats the monorails from MK most times, especially for Ohana which is just up the dock basically.

The resort monorail can have long stops at both CR and TTC while with the Express the walk to Ohana adds at least 7 to 10 minutes to the ride. The boat can have you at the Poly dock in 12 minutes. Should add, we almost never use the monorail because we learned about the resort launch. It feels slower but is surprisingly efficient when you time it out several times.

Regardless of method, give yourself extra time because you should checkin at Ohana 15 min early.

I still like your original idea, even if there's not AM EMH. You can get a lot done at MK in 60 minutes if you are there at rope drop :thumbsup2
