Safe travels B - I know David will take extra good care of you!!! :)

Wendy,

Does this mean you will have trips to Hawaii and Korea? I think visiting Korea would be totally awesome! I want to go very bad.

David took very good care of me, he doted on me all evening, like I was fragile or something, but I loved it. He missed me.... :goodvibes

THE Ressies( erm. I mean ADR's ) Sorry... What I mean to say was do those generally fill up being that they're so far off the beaten path....Is it mostly the guests at the AKL, that eat at these 3???

Agree as well, they DO fill up fast - an ADR is a very good idea!!

I have head some wonderful things about Korea, David was there several times; he always found great food, and finds, clothing, silk, jade, suits and shirts made really cheap, and he got this Solaron blanket that that is mink....

They will hand embroider all kinds of items.

He shipped stuff back in boxes.

tennis shoes was something else he got really cheap... He just bought multiple sizes and shipped back.

Of course I would be all over the food!

Full Disclosure.. I havent read one reply here so if this has been asked, go ahead and shame me :) :lmao::rotfl2:

Anywho.. Kindani village. On the maps I see walkways a number of places along the resort. Do these coincide with elevators inside? I guess I ALWAYS used the main elevators, so have no clue what other means of getting in and out of our room area there are. Or do those doors / walkways / whatever just for exiting the ground level?

Lots of people choose AKL for the restaurants to check out the animals. Sometimes they end their day at AK with dinner at AKL. So I would make an ADR is you wanted to eat at one of the restaurants.

I'm confused by your question. There are hallways inside the resort and there are elevators every 10-12 rooms. There are no public walkways on the savannah side of the building. There are walkways to the pool, fitness center, and Jambo House. Does that answer your question?

Thanks I will do that....I think this trip is going to be a whole lot different then those in the past....

We're still going to enjoy the parks, but either come back early or just spen d days by the pool. We want to really enjoy the resort downtime...We did do this near the end of our recent trip to BWV and after the hustle bustle in the first part, it was quite enjoyable....The reason I was asking is that I didn't want to tie myself down to a hectic food schedule this time, but I guess I'll have to. Thanks.

yep... sure does. My question was just worded poorly.

Hi! We (me, DH, DS7, DD6) are planning to stay at AKL at the end of Jan/Beg of Feb. We have only stayed value and I am extrememly excited to try deluxe!:yay:

Anyways, I posted this question in the general resort thread but then found this thread and thought I might have a better chance at an answer! Anyways, I would love to have SV BB room. I noticed with my military discount it is only about $80 more for the whole stay to stay club as it is to get a SV BB room. I believe this would also grant me the Arusha Savannah, which I have read is the one that is more desirable. It is actually the same price to do Arusha BB as the club. Anyways, I know it would be no guarantee, but was wondering if anyone knew how many club level rooms had BB in them? Basically if I got the club level and put in my only request as BB do you think I would have a good chance of getting them? It isn't a deal breaker and if I had a decent chance of getting the BB I think it might be worth it to risk it to have club for not much difference in price. This would be during value season (Jan 29-Feb2). Thanks for an insight or thoughts you might have!

Firstly, Congratulations on your upcoming trip! AKL is so wonderful.

Even though I don't know the number of them they have, I still think your chances for the BB is pretty good, especially since it's during a value season. And yes, you're right, CL guarantees you Arusha View. I would definitely spend the extra money for CL. It is so worth it. You have food/drinks from 6:30am - 10pm. It includes a continental breakfast, sodas/milk/juices/coffee/espresso machine, snacks and cookies in the afternoon, appetizers and desserts in the evening. Also beer available all day, wine and cordials in the evening. and then you have the turn down service in the evening, and they put chocolates on your bed as well :) the staff is fabulous and will take care of everything they can for you.

Thanks so much for the quick reply. I am definately leaning that way but need to talk to my DH. Right now we are booked in a pool view room, but the more I read the more I want to get SV. Then if I get SV, it is only a little more to Club:rotfl2: Can you see a pattern here? We usually stay Value or offsite but since we will be moving next year and probably won't be in driving distance anymore, I want to go one more time. So, it started off with maybe we can spend a little more and get Moderate. Then, well for a little more I can get a deluxe, etc, etc and now we are quite a bit over what we usually spend. Haha, I guess that is how it goes when I keep reading posts about how great all these resorts are:rotfl2:

I have a funny story to share with y'all -- although I'm not laughing just yet!!!

My flight out of Killeen was delayed and I JUST made my connection in Dallas (I have never run through an airport so fast in my life!).

So I made my connection but my luggage didn't! :crazy2:

The bag came in on a flight this evening and is supposedly en route to me -- although it may be midnight before it arrives! :headache: When it finally arrives, I need to unpack it, do the laundry, repack and be on the road between 7 and 8am. It's a 7-hour drive to Bragg. :sad2:

I oughta be a real beaut by the time I get there!!! Cranky and sleepy!!! :rotfl2:
