Gay Days ANAHEIM 2012 - The Unofficial Thread

My partner and I are going to Gay Days Disneyland this year and we're so excited! Just six weeks away, and we've got all our reservations set (Grand Californian Hotel, Blue Bayou, Plaza Inn, Storyteller Cafe & more). We've also got tickets to the Plunge pool party and Coco Peru's comedy cabaret. Plus, we're working on our Halloween costumes for the Magic Kingdom party, and our disco outfits for the Mad T Party dance at Disney California Adventure!

Are you going to Gay Days Anaheim (Oct. 5-7, 2012)? We live in the SF Bay Area, so it'd be great to meet local Disney fans. What events are you going to?

I'm waffling. I have a long weekend from school that weekend, but I also just booked 5 nights in early March at the Villas at the Grand Californian. Of course, it won't be Gay Days then, but the fact that I know for sure that I'll be at DLR in March is making me wonder if I really need to go to GDA this year.

I'm going, from sf bay area as well. Traveling with a group and staying at the grand!

Can't wait for some of the events and mingling opportunities.

But mostly I can't wait to be in the Land!!!

We're going and staying at the Grand (DP, son, and I). We're from Wisconsin and going for the first time. My best friend is joining us from the Bay Area though. I've been encouraging him to check out a party or two but he isn't into the Circuit Party thing. I've heard the Anaheim parties are different - would anyone able to describe the vibe for me?

AFAIK, they're always in October. The dates for next year's GDA are often released soon after the conclusion of that year's event, I think.

Your friend is right, the parties are somewhat Circuit-y, albeit a little more nerdy -- this is Disneyland, right? Personally, I'm sticking to the mellower events: Coco Peru's drag comedy show, the Sunday night cocktail lounge at the Grand Californian, and gathering in front of It's a Small World to watch the parade. I also have tickets to the Plunge! pool party, that's probably my most "disco" event. Oh, and I definitely plan to join the group for the Mad T Party in Disney California Adventure -- can't wait!

Again, Gay Days Anaheim tends to attract a Disney fan crowd, not just Miami White Party gym bunnies. Case in point: The Grizzly River Rapids bear event is one of the most popular of the weekend! Very casual.
