I will provide you with all the information! I honestly can't wait until november. I hope your pork chops turned out! It's one of those go-to recipes in our house.

Happy Birthday!!!! 22 is such a great age!! I just turned 30 on the 24th so ur not old. ;) The chops were a big hit w/ my hubby. So THANK YOU for the great recipe! :thumbsup2 Looking forward to your WCC review since we have an ADR!!

Happy Belated Birthday!!!! :flower3:

Crystal Palace looks like it was a great choice for your b-day celebration. How exciting to get to spend your birthday at Magic Kingdom!

That's fantastic that you got a reservation for BOG! Looking forward to reading all about it! :thumbsup2

I'm glad you had a Happy Birthday!! July 31 is also my birthday and even tho I wasn't in Disney World in body, I'm always there in spirit!!!! 96 days and I will be celebrating and doing the Happy dance!! Enjoying your review..keep up the good work and enjoy your time at disney....pixiedust:

I agree that there are few places better than the Magic Kingdom to spend your birthday! Happy belated birthday to you :goodvibes.

The picture of your main course at Crystal Palace is missing so I can't see all the delicious goodness! But that dessert plate looks out of this world. I love that little german chocolate cake!

How lucky you are to have scored a res for BOG on opening night (which happens to be my birthday!). I'm going to miss it by four days on our trip in November :sad2:.

Happy belated birthday! And I'm so happy to see you got to spend it in MK and have a fun meal at Crystal Palace. I haven't been there in 4 years now, although I really liked it last time - it's always been one of my favorite character restaurants. :)

Yesterday was the best day of work ever. Why? Because I had some very special people visit me yesterday: Brenda and DonaldDoleWhip!!! I was so excited to finally meet you both; I just wish I could have spent more time with you. You guys definitely made my night!! :goodvibes I wish you both the best of vacations and hopefully I'll see you again soon!

In dining news: I just made reservations for the 3D Dessert Discovery during the Food and Wine Festival and for Be Our Guest restaurant on November 19th (opening day) at 5:00. My family is coming down, so they will get to experience Be Our Guest with me. I am excited beyond words!

I wish you all a magical day! :wizard:

It was so WONDERFUL to actually meet you! :yay: Sorry we didn't spend more time together. :sad1: We happened to go on the ride and combine not only a tidal wave of SM water on us but it started to pour when we came down the flume! What timing!

How exciting that you have a BOG reservation!!! I will definitely be looking forward to reading that review and see the photos! :goodvibes

BTW: Happy Belated Birthday!!!!!

Whispering Canyon – August 1st

Since one of my roommates wasn’t able to join us for lunch on my birthday, we decided to go to Whispering Canyon together. I love the breakfast here, but haven’t been here for lunch in a long time, so I was really looking forward to this… especially since we currently get a 40% discount :thumbsup2

Surprisingly it wasn’t busy in here at all. Granted we did arrive around 1:45, but I figured there would be more than the five other families eating here.

The Menu:
IMG_1151.jpg

We both started out with a Chocolate Milkshake:

IMG_1160.jpg

IMG_1161.jpg

The great thing about these is that they have unlimited refills! Sounds like a great deal at the time, until you stuff yourself with food and realize you can’t drink anymore haha.

My roommate and I both had the Canyon Skillet:

Cornbread and Butter

Western Slaw

IMG_1168.jpg

Barbecue Sauce

IMG_1173.jpg

Smoked Pork Ribs

IMG_1174.jpg

Corn on the Cob

Oven-Roasted Chicken

IMG_1176.jpg

Cowboy Beans

IMG_1177.jpg

Pork Sausage

IMG_1178.jpg

Herb-Crushed Potatoes

My plate:

We had refills on the ribs and corn. Then got a ton of mashed potatoes:
IMG_1183.jpg

I also had another milkshake, but got vanilla this time around:
IMG_1182.jpg

This was one heck of a meal. The food was delicious and incredibly filling. My favorites would have to be the cornbread, ribs, sausage, and potatoes. The cornbread just melted in your mouth, especially with the luscious butter. The ribs were amazing, but definitely messy; they give you wipes for a reason! As well as a plate for bones haha. The slaw actually had quite a spicy kick to it and neither of us like beans, so we didn’t touch those. Chickenwise, we were given a thigh and a breast; the thigh was very tender and moist, but the breast was tough unfortunately. Oh yes, the milkshakes! Holy cow… these were so good, I just wish I had more room to drink more of them. Chocolate was hands down my favorite, although I know my mom would absolutely love the vanilla one.

Our server was Cajun Chad. He was just wonderful and always made sure we had enough to eat and drink. He also sounded just like the narrator in the old Goofy cartoons haha. There were two other servers that kept coming over to us throughout our meal to cause some shenanigans. My roommate and I both had our phones on the table so he told us that it wasn’t very polite. He took my phone and wondered where the “book of faces” was. I don’t have an app for facebook so he was pretty disappointed. He came back later in the meal and took my roommates phone because she had set it on the chair beside her. She does have an app, so he proceeded to post this as her status:
“I am not this lady. I’m available. I have no money but I’m cute. Looking for a girl with money.”

He kept coming back along with another server to see if anyone had commented. Here is everyone gathered around trying to figure out a response.

It was absolutely hilarious. We had such a great time here that we will definitely be going back, hopefully next week in fact…

Happy Birthday!

I do like Crystal Palace although I've always done breakfast.

Jill in CO

Thanks! I love CP for breakfast... Puffed french toast is my favorite!

Happy Birthday! What a great place to spend it!

Thank you! It was so much fun!

Happy belated birthday. Mine was 5 days before yours. I turned 42 so you're not allowed to say you feel old. If I'm not old, then you can't be old either.

Haha! Thanks and happy belated birthday to you as well. :goodvibes

Funny, I will be 42 in 5 days. Agreed...42 is not old, so no way anything younger is either! Happy Birthday to all of us! :goodvibes

Agreed! Happy belated birthday to you too!!

Two things- your second pic plate is missing:goodvibes It is just a picture of the front of Crystal Palace.

And I LOVE that pink striped dress you are wearing!!! it is super cute. Where is it from??

Thank you for mentioning that; hopefully it's working now. I got my dress from Forever 21. It is one of my favorite stores down here!

Crystal Palace is so pretty! I have to eat there someday. Happy happy birthday!

Thanks! You must try it; the food is spectacular!

Thank you sir! I just love the Crystal Palace. It's a great place for food and characters.

It was so WONDERFUL to actually meet you! :yay: Sorry we didn't spend more time together. :sad1: We happened to go on the ride and combine not only a tidal wave of SM water on us but it started to pour when we came down the flume! What timing!

Thank you! I'm so glad I got to meet you too. It was awesome :goodvibes Ohhhh Splash... gotta love it when it starts raining haha.

WCC sounds like fun! I'd like to check it off my list eventually...but I think I'd probably go for the quinoa cakes over the famous canyon skillet.

Wow! A Captain Jack rating! It must have been good! :thumbsup2 All of the food looks really wonderful. Sorry the beans weren't so good but heck sounds like most of it was great since it scored a Captain Sparrow!

What funny moments you had with the wait staff!!! Love their FB post!

if you want a copy of the photo I have just PM me and I'll sent it to you. :)

Love your WCC review. I booked it for dinner on our arrival night in December. It will be our first time eating there, but I think DH will love it. I'll tell him to get the skillet because he loves ribs and corn on the cob. And those milkshakes... Yum!

WCC looks like tons of fun! And the food looks yummy too :thumbsup2 Did your roommate ever get any comments on that post?

LOL!!!:lmao: The FB post is too much!!! :rotfl2: I love it!!

I'm so happy you enjoyed WCC! We loved breakfast too. This will be our 1st dinner. The milkshake looks yummy! I'm pretty sure one of those shakes could spoil anyones appetite before dinner but it just seems so worth it. :goodvibes

We have been missin' u on the boards Betsy, you must be having so much fun down there! Dare I ask if you are getting bored working there or are you still loving it? I'm pretty sure I could NEVER get bored there.

Ahoy mates! Sorry I haven't been very diligent in me postings, but the sea has been rough lately. I've been very busy with work and interviews, so I finally found some time to upload pics.

The Plaza - All-American Sundae with Chocolate Ice Cream

I scream for ice cream! You can never go wrong with this sundae. Unless you are allergic to peanuts…

Tortuga Tavern - Chocolate Cake

Yum! Great breakfast ;)

Sleepy Hollow - Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich
IMG_2426.jpg

IMG_2425.jpg

Mint ice cream is among my favorite flavors, but I didn’t really care for this. The cookies were a little hard and tasted like they had been sitting out for a while. Plus, there really wasn’t too much ice cream in the middle. I’ll be sticking to my ice cream cookie sandwiches from the Main Street Bakery. Those are absolutely delectable.

Aloha Isle - Orange Swirl
IMG_2450.jpg

I shared this with one of my roommates. It basically tasted like soft serve orange sherbet. I’d rather have chocolate ice cream any day.

The Caramel Shop in Germany

Caramel Pecan Tart

Dark Chocolate Caramel

Both of these treats were delicious! They are very sweet however and are best when shared with a friend.

My favorite dessert in all of Epcot. Pure love.

Ghirardelli Chocolate Sample

This is a new flavor and boy was it tasty. I withheld from spending any money in here.

AMC Theater – Chocolate Lava Cake
IMG_2447.jpg

Dear lord… this was one of the best chocolate cakes I’ve ever had in my life. I wasn’t expecting much, since this is from a movie theater, but it was absolutely divine. I took it home and warmed it in the oven for a few minutes… pure heaven.

Wawa

I have a new addiction. The first Wawa in Florida recently opened nearby. I’ve never been to one before, so this was a brand new experience.

IMG_2436.jpg

You order sandwiches from a touch screen kiosk and they are made right in front of you. You can get a 10 inch hoagie for under $5. Plus they have fresh donuts, a crazy soda machine, and lots of slushies and tea.

Turkey Hoagie

Hoagie, Apple Fritter, Chips

Steak and Cheese Hoagie

Don’t start going… You will become addicted!

That's all for now mates! I'm going to Epcot with some friends to snack around the world, so be on the look for that update soon!

WCC sounds like fun! I'd like to check it off my list eventually...but I think I'd probably go for the quinoa cakes over the famous canyon skillet.

It's definitely a must do! I'm planning on getting an appetizer and dessert next time I go. They have some sort of smore with marshmellow ice cream... sounds intriguing to me!

Wow! A Captain Jack rating! It must have been good! :thumbsup2 All of the food looks really wonderful. Sorry the beans weren't so good but heck sounds like most of it was great since it scored a Captain Sparrow!

Oh yes... the food was delicious and the antics were spot on. That was the most hilarious meal I've ever had. :rotfl: I will PM you in a minute :thumbsup2

You can't go wrong with the skillet. It will be the perfect way to kick off your vacation! How I love milkshakes... :goodvibes

Haha, just one of our other roommates that was like... what the heck..? It was so funny :lmao:

Oh yeah; it was hilarious! I really like there breakfast too. It's a great way to start the day. And yes, the milkshakes were definitely worth it - they were amazing! :goodvibes

And yes, I am having a blast down here. I absolutely love working down here and there is so much to do on my days off. I'll try and update more often! :thumbsup2

Wawa! We have a ton of them near my university, so I definitely understand the appeal. There's no better spot at 3am for a sandwich and some coffee. :rotfl:

The mint chocolate chip cookie sandwich is a great idea! As for the orange dole whip, I have to say it's one of my least favorite WDW foods. Some people love it, but to me it tastes artificial and like medicine. I think the citrus swirl is much better than the orange dole whip (and I'd gladly take a pineapple-vanilla swirl dole whip over the citrus swirl). :thumbsup2

I've never seen anyone post a picture of the caramel pecan bar before. I think that's my favorite thing in all the parks. I always bring a couple home to hold me over until my next visit.

My dad lived outside of Wawa, PA which was the home of the original Wawas so I've been going to Wawa since they started. (I'm feeling so old!). None of us can imagine life without Wawa. We recently bought a place in FL which we plan on relocating to in 2 years. My oldest son was thrilled to see the Orlando Wawa open since it is only an hour away, but they are expanding and could end up closer. We found out they don't have Amoroso rolls, they bake their own. I was wondering if you could you give me an idea of what the rolls were like. Were they like the kind you get baked in grocery stores or were they good, so soft, long rolls from a decent roll bakery? An off topic review but a much appreciated one.
